Like...They shouldn't of made him an awesome character and should of sticked to the comics lol.

quipp209 03-11-2012 07:48 PM

Long overdue. I like that it was drawn out longer than in the comic though.

I think you're right on the money. Who knows, maybe we'll see a prison or gated community soon?

Tiberius 03-11-2012 07:51 PM

Rick better lose his hand next season...I swear to god

D00MTR0N 03-11-2012 08:00 PM

That would be cool, but unpractical for a TV show. Maybe a certain brother's fate was thought up based on similar inspiration?

Tiberius 03-11-2012 08:29 PM

I don't understand how it isn't practical for TV. Zombies aren't very practical :P.

Have you ever watched Evil Dead 2 or Army of Darkness? Something like that is pretty difficult to conceal, and this show has been mostly void of digital effects (the main reason I like it).

Crazy Jetty 03-11-2012 08:32 PM

One thing I've always wondered about zombie apocalypses...
Why don't the survivors just migrate to the artic?
Seriously, go live with the inuit for a few years until the whole thing blows over.
A zombie apocalypse can only last a few years until bodies decay and rot away to nothing. And a zombie could not function in freezing temperatures. The climate may not "kill" them, but they'd be frozen completely stiff.

Most people wouldn't do that because their lives revolve around drama and confrontation. Whether they admit it or not, they just want to stick with the same bad habits they have always exhibited, and that is why people suck so much. That said, the average person would probably stay in a hostile situation at each others' throats rather than seek out the safety of a place like Antarctica...or parts of Canada (sorry Tiberius). People are inherently fucked up, which is why the comic/show are so good.

lol, true true.

BTW, if the zombie apocalypse ever happens, I'm moving in with you, Tiberius!
I'll buy my way into your heart with Batmen and DCUC toys if I have to, goddammit!

Hahaha as I said before, living where I do is probably the BEST spot you could be. OR the worst. If the zombie outbreak happens on the Island, we are fucked. But, if it is on the mainland, shut down all transportation [planes, ferries, anything that can get you across the water]. Come to think of it, zombies wouldn't be the problem...it would be other nations.

I'll stick with zombies.

I like you dude, truly, but if zombies actually hit the Earth I'd be just fine. Not because of what I have, but what I know. If a bunch of flesh eaters show up maybe we can work something out. :don

Tiberius 03-11-2012 09:32 PM

Lol fair enough. Still think I will be on the safest place on earth :P.

quipp209 03-11-2012 09:38 PM

If zombies were here in my area I'm screwed LOL unless I can make it to san Francisco n charter a ferry to alcatraz but on the way there pick up a few supplies like guns n more guns LOL

quipp209 03-11-2012 09:40 PM

Idk if anyone else has noticed that supply of guns and bullets are lasting a long time

Crazy Jetty 03-11-2012 10:05 PM

Assuming they can stop the plague from spreading through air travel there first, I think Hawaii would be the safest place you could live and be comfortable. Plenty of food, thanks to the vermin hog problem. And there's absolutely no way any zombie could even get there accidentally. One would have to be transported there on purpose.

I have a feeling that's going to be addressed... veeery soon.

Agreed....Andrea made a comment last week......

Tony_Bacala 03-12-2012 08:42 AM

Yeah, they set if off 2 eps in a row. I was getting a little annoyed with both of them, but I dunno about killing both of them lol.

I really want to see where they are going with the zombie out of nowhere angle tho.

The "Every person is a zombie" angle really wasn't touched on much in the comic. They bring it up, make it an end of issue shocker, and it's not really ever addressed again. The show has a good opportunity to make that a running threat.

But it was high time to off Shane. I was thoroughly annoyed it took this long, though Jon Bernthal did a hell of a job making him a great character. Now it's time to really get into the heart of the journey for Rick though, get down to his descent into darkness and eventual climb back to humanity. Rick in general needs to get some better character moments like last night's episode. Since they aren't following the comics, the writers really have an opportunity to make Rick a strong, conflicted character. They did this with Shane, so I know they have the ability to.

tlasjr 03-12-2012 09:09 AM

I dont get the Shane love here. He was crearly written as a villan, not any kind of hero.
Multiple times he's threatened to or tried to kill members of his group, attemtped rape, twice leaving people behind to make it easier for himself and then lying about it after the fact.
I agree rick isnt acting stognly enough to protect the group. He should have put shane down immediately after the barn incident.
The Otis thing doesnt make him a hero. He never would have done it to Laurie or Andrea so it wasnt survival at all costs it was Shane decidcng Otis wasnt personally valuable to him.
As far as Herschel being deluded and everyone being 100% sure that they would know not to keep their loved ones safely contained, I ask how? How would you know? The group went to cdc, prior to which they thought there was a cure. All they knew was that their loved ones were sick. Do you often shoot or lob parts of loved ones when the come down with an illness thats unidentified?
