Wow. You are serious. In the 12 plus years I lived in the city, everyone of those years being one in which I collected figures, I have never heard of "Toy Wiz" guys. But then again, I do the vast majority of my buying online.

Well, you learn new things every day....I still think this is a story you should regale the younger toy collecting members of your family with late at night 'round the campfire! ;)

LOL I believe he is talking about Toy Wiz the toy company: MARVEL LEGENDS TOYS at ToyWiz.com - Shop Marvel Legends Action Figures On Sale

I don't know who would pay those rapey prices. I would rather take my chances hunting in the wild, trolling retail sites with refresh, buying a full case, or even eBay as a last resort.

That's pretty hilarious though, I could picture those late night campfire tales hahahaha

jmurray90720 08-26-2014 02:16 AM

I just ordered a case of Wolverine Legends from BBTS. My wallet HATES me right now, but I absolutely have to have Emma Frost and this way I got her for $20. Sure, I got 7 other figures at the same price, but I really want the other three as well. I have a local collectible store that has been very receptive to my trade proposals, and I'm hoping with the extra Sabretooth, Wolverines and Cyclops to walk away with Infinite Cyclops, Infinite Magneto and Mystique. I also don't care about the Puck BAF so I'm thinking they'd give me a Hit Monkey series Archangel for it. Basically I know Sabretooth and Cyclops are going to be tough sells but they have like 10 Mytiques and 8 Cyclops' on the pegs. I'm surprised by the $30 price tag on the Wolverine on the aftermarket. It's a good one and now I have 3 of them, yipeeee! Buying cases really is a smart way to go if you're the wheeling and dealing type.

Finally a link, direct reference is always best when dealing with obtuse commenters such as myself. That has cleared everything up...well except for the fact that I liked my version better.

VashTS 08-26-2014 06:04 AM

Yep..it's ToyWiz(Toy selling company)...not Toybiz(Toy manufacturing Company)

THe semantics are making things confusing.

I keep thinking of buying the entire set for frost but it just shouldn't cost $180 for it....

Walmart Total Corp figures they like 2-4 bucks or try at Biglots same figures..scalewise the guns work for Widow.
That's the going fix for her guns right now

ultraman zoffy 08-26-2014 07:54 AM

I got Frost on ebay for $35 way back when the Previews exclusives first started showing up, and even then I felt like I was paying too much for a figure with no cape, can't stand well, and next to zero paint detail. I'd suggest folks wanting her just grab an Elektra base body, paint it up, and call it a day. =)

Ouch from the East coast to the West coast LA folks have to deal with FNS scalper's. Just sucks...

That's what I did, I bought the bigger case and ended up at first keeping Cyke, Sabes and Wolverine, but then ended up selling them off, since I basically have the 3.75 version of them. Although kind wish I kept Sabes now, would go great with Stryfe but eh...

Byrnes 08-26-2014 09:28 AM

Man, I keep thinking Frost will drop at some point, but she just keeps going higher and higher. It's getting stupid. Almost $100 shipped now for 1 figure on Ebay. I think it's just the rarity of this figure. You only see 1-2 on ebay at a time and NO one has her w/BAF in the trade forums.

VashTS 08-26-2014 09:57 AM

Frosty is out of my reach unless these figures ends up at a major retailer or Hasbro themselves you know sell them.

But found carnage today at TRU. Hasbro seems willing to re_release hard to get ahold of figures. Here's hoping.

Serious Lee 08-26-2014 11:21 AM

It wouldn't hurt if and when the X-Men Apocalypse movie is about to hit, that we would see Emma re-released as a single (with the addition of a cape). Or revamped would be fine too, there wouldn't be a problem if she was on the Moonstone body and if the 3-packs take off....maybe something Hellfire Club in origin?

I stopped by my local TRU and they had tons of Stryfe, Cyclops and Wolverine, but no sight of Magneto or Storm. What gives? Are these the short packed, scalp bait? Or is TRU releasing these later somehow even though I see that some people already have them?

Yeah especially since it's a diamond exclusive, so it's even worse then a TRU exclusive...that's why I jumped on it from BBTS at the time.

That would be idea, or the 3.75 version that we were suppose to get as well. Let's see what the future SDCC holds.

I feel your pain, my friend...been wanting a ML Emma Frost for the longest but can not find her anywhere, including my LCBS. Went to my LCBS today looking for the new wave...they had everyone in doubles, but no ML Storm or Mags to be found. Was not happy, but to support my LCBS, I ended up buying a key chain to show some appreciation and because I was dying to by something Marvel...

VashTS 08-26-2014 12:37 PM

It'ss a trip to get to my LCBS, but it's been over 10 years since I stepped in one..

Anyone know if those Aim/Hydra soldiers that Diamond was supposed to distribute to the LCBS got shipped out?

wow...even the online stores have jacked her price up to 90 bucks now...buying the case from BBTS makes her about 20 bucks a pop(160/8)...but you will have the other four to try and offload

I spoke to my local cbs about this and I believe what diamond is doing is allowing comic shops to pick and choose figures they want instead of ordering whole waves. That means they can stock up on the popular figures but pass on the peg warmers; it's also supposed to allow shoppers the chance to order singles of figures too (like several aim/hydra soldiers for army builder folks). When the shop owner checked his computer, he said that they won't be able to start doing it until September or October though.

That's what I did, I was able too, it's doable if you really don't want to pay scalper prices for her.

I know sell the rest...I purchased the Wolverine already, I wouldn't mind buying and keeping the set if it was not for those 2 Wolverines. I am an intermediate customizer but aye, I really just want to stop getting Wolverines for a few years....I am a big Clops fan from back in the day and plus that body is great for cutoms.

Quick question, might as well pick some collectors brains. I am customizing some McFarlane Spidermaans but I notice on a couple, the legs are loose. Normally I would, yipes, drop some superglue, but this time, the ball that go to the hips are so close to the hips, that I do not think I can get the glue in there. Any Suggestions?

buy the case mod the second Wolvie into an alternate costume
pop the legs off then glue them then put them back on

I'm really not too worried about the extra Wolverines, I think they'll sell. The shop I previously spoke of only has 2 Sabretooths left from the wave, so they sold through for them before. I'm more worried about the Sabretooth, but that will probably be traded for the Mystique they have 10 of.

With the new Cyclops figure and digital sculpt of Magik, any Emma Frost figure released will probably be in her new Marvel Now costume.
