That would suck for most Emma fans.
|
Hey, I'm in 100% support of new outfits getting figures. I kinda feel that's the way it should be, y'know? Main release stuff gets the new outfit and variants/exclusives are the older outfits.
|
I guess it would depend on the era of comics to which you (the individual collector) are attached. I am not a big Marvel Now person. While I'd likely get a modern version of Emma, the classic look would appeal to me more. However, I vacillate even as it pertains to classic looks of characters. I'm not a huge fan, but I constantly read comments regarding building out Jim Lee's X-men line-up. Not too long ago, the Legends line released a Jean from that period which was received pretty well. In addition, that old Jim Lee Cyclops still sells for inflated prices and remains coveted. It must be difficult for Hasbro to gauge the pulse of which iteration of a character to produce. Temperaments are so fluid and fickle that its a toss up. Maybe a polling system is in order? Nah....that would likely be a disaster....

omg, the Magneto Jubille piece is the last one i need and its going for 40 bucks. for a hunk of plastic.

and the Hasbro Jean mops the floor with the Phoenix, the only good thing was the head sculpt on the old one, as for Elektra The Toy Biz one is much much better |
If Hasbro releases another Emma it has to be the Hellfire Club version.

The reason I don't think fans would be very positive about the Marvel-Now Emma is that many long-term fans are familiar with the classic look, and the Marvel-Now costume is guaranteed to go away eventually and return to something more formulaic. The new costumes should be the variants because less collectors actually read the material and will be unfamiliar with the look, the more identifiable costumes should be main/mass release since that's what they know. It would be like if the Wolverine that was just released was his newest costume instead of the familiar yellow and blue tiger-stripes, it would deter the typical collector who is usually only a casual reader. |

On a side note I have a Havok or Rocket in box with BAF to trade for Scarlet Widow ( I never saw her in retail ). |
I'd love to own Rocket and Groot, but I have yet to see Rocket in a store (I refuse to shop online for him). I've seen every other figure in the wave, but I'm gun-shy about getting any of them without getting the one I want most first.

I think Hasbro could release all-star 3 packs, there are many figures they have put out years ago now that they likely still have the molds for. Emma would be a shoe-in of course, but which other characters need a re-release? Deadpool? 2-pack Winter Soldier? X-Force Warpath? I stÍll don't have the latter two, and cannot see affording them in the near future lol.
I do understand the wants, but I'm not sure Hasbro would even do such a thing. If they made a henchman 3-pack, it would definitely sell out IMO. |

Marvelicious News ... Hasbro's response was that due to Deadpool (in his red costume specifically I guess) and Dr. Doom being associated with Fox films, they had licensing conflicts preventing them from being able to sell them in the states How is it a problem in the states but not the UK where they seem to have showed up? None of the LCS or online stores even sold them..yet I hear they are plentiful in the UK. They released regular Doom and GreyPool here so that response from them doesn't jive |
I'm not sure which stores in the UK got the variants, but I also don't think they were priced higher than any other figures released from that wave. I still think it was an accident they got out to the public, but a huge toy company would never admit that.

how much does it cost to get into sdcc? I'm tired of paying ebay prices for sdcc exclusives.

1. Getting a Ticket [i hear it's hard enough] 2. Transport i.e plane , bus , car etc on top of that parking 3. Their time, someone waiting to get 1 or 2 sets one to keep and sell to people like us 4. if you get a plane back they might need to pay a customs charge. 5. Hotel - i think it's too big for just one day ?? So if you think about they go through a lot more then simply "buy it now" and sending it to you. if you get a fair price, for me it kinda is okay to spend alot or what i seem is a fair price. prie is when i asked google "In addition to the elimination of the four-day badge, the cost of attendance has gone up from 2013. Single-day badges for adults cost $35 for Preview Night, $45 for Thursday-Saturday badges (up from $42) and $30 for Sunday (up from $24)." |

With Magik presumably coming, and Moonstar already made and shelved yet who knows might make a reappearance, Madrox, Polaris and to a lesser degree Sunspot Blink, Syrin Marrow and Dazzler would be my wants for X-Men heroes legends. Villains are another story but the list is getting less and less. Two waves of X-men: Apocalypse figures would be awesome. If we got that we'd have Cannonball, Moonstar Sunspot and Magik of New Mutants. The rest of the New Mutants I could care less about. It's just irritating we have only Cannonball out of that whole thing (not counting characters who were part of the X-Force run). Though if they released a Wolfsbane I would probably buy it if I could find it cheap. |
Marvel now emma would be bad ass

I think Wolfsbane would be a cool figure, if they could pull it off. Maybe Hasbro could take a page out of the Diamond Select book and instead of a giant figure (not that it would be a bad thing), take 2 that work together and a decent dio piece...like Cloak and Dagger with a fair sized chunk of a back alley or both versions of Wolfsbane that comes with something appropriate...lol
Where the box set of the Howling Commando's?? And Jack of Hearts dagnabit!? |
