There are several interesting rumors circulating among online stores regarding the much-anticipated Masterpiece Rodimus Prime. Among those rumors, reported by Cybertron.CA sponsor Metropolis Comics and Toys is the suggestion that Masterpiece Rodimus Prime will be released in the US first this time around, with Japanese orders not opening until next month and an actual release date slated for February 2011. However the recent release of Masterpiece Grimlock - and the Transformers 3 toyline looming on the horizon - casts some doubt on this possibility.

Other rumors that have been circulating suggest that in order to keep costs down, the US release of Masterpiece Rodimus might come without his trailer. There has been some speculation that like Masterpiece Grimlock, who traded apron bow tie and drinks tray for a crown in his US release, Masterpiece Rodimus might get a different accessory - such as his Targetmaster - to make up for the lack of trailer.

Please bear in mind this is all a rumor right now and does not necessarily reflect Hasbro's actual release plans. As always keep your eye on our frontpage right here for updates on this and all other Transformers news stories.

In an exclusive interview with 2D-X, Voice Actor Josh Keaton hints his role in Transformers: Prime.

"Is there anything you can tell us about Transformers Prime (story, characters, etc.)? Were you and Dan Gilvezan able to talk about the Bumblebee character at all while working together on Shattered Dimensions?

I can’t say anything about the story yet and I’m pretty sure it’s already out there that Peter Cullen and Frank Welker will be returning as Optimus and Megatron. Dan and I actually did have a little discussion about me taking all of his roles, but I reminded him that it hasn’t actually been confirmed anywhere that I’m going to be voicing Bumblebee. (wink)

What can we look forward to seeing/hearing you in next?

I voice Rick in the upcoming Splatterhouse game, you’ll be able to hear me on a new Cartoon Network show called Firebreather, and of course, Transformers: Prime. I have a couple of other things in the works, but nothing I’m at liberty to discuss yet."

Stay tuned with TFW2005, as we bring you news... First & Fast!

"This September (just a few days away) the Tranformers: Drift mini series will be hitting the shelves. This is the full origin of Drift as he journeys from Decepticon to…well…something else entirely.

Art is by Alex Milne who’s been doing some amazing work. Special first time appearance by a particular Decepticon plus cameos of many of your favorites.

Plenty of fun to be had."

Thanks to Last Stand of the Wreckers co-writer James Roberts, TFW2005 has been fortunate enough to review Bullets, a short story exclusive to the Last Stand of the Wreckers trade paperback that will be released tomorrow, Wednesday, September 1st. Check out the quick review of the short story below! Beware of minor spoilers!

Just when you thought the dust has cleared from the fallout and thrill ride that was Last Stand of the Wreckers, Bullets hit. One of the extras of the Last Stand of the Wreckers trade paperback, Bullets is essentially Last Stand of the Wreckers Issue #0. Although purely a short story and absent of the fantastic Nick Roche art, the story continues to flush out the story of a group of heroes that the Transformers comics fandom has recently grown to adore. The humor and uniqueness of the mini-series continues within the confines of Bullets.

The 11-page short story provides an origins story regarding how this new group of Wreckers came into being. While Last Stand of the Wreckers #1 started with the new heroes ready to be assembled, Bullets explains how these Autobots of different backgrounds were brought together. Items teased at during the mini-series, such as Ironfist’s scar and Pyro’s Prime fascination are explained in the story. Likewise, the absence of many of the old Wreckers is also expanded upon. While still flushing out the story from the mini-series, Bullets also features its own self-contained story centering around Ironfist. The story also manages to throw in little nods to previous IDW stories, such as discussing Infiltration units and their phases.

Below is just a little taste of what one can expect from Bullets:
--------
First Aid stopped reading as he sensed someone approaching him from
behind. He tapped the keyboard and Fisitron’s 113th datalog - The
Wreckers: Showdown on Pova - was replaced by a picture of a fractured
elbow joint. Okay, so he was still sitting at a computer terminal when he
should have been walking the ward, administering energon boosters
and propex swabs to the patients downstairs, but at least he was now
looking at something vaguely medical instead of reading Fisitron’s
account of how Impactor and his hardbitten heroes had brought down
Squadron X once and for all. He made sure he was frowning in
concentration when Pharma strode past.
--------
Some recent cases sprang to mind: the paranoid cadet who thought that
someone had hacked into his optic sensors so that he only saw what
“They” wanted to him to see; and the data processor, obsessed with
gestalt technology, who suffered from a variation of phantom limb
syndrome and refused to go indoors because he was convinced that he
formed the right leg of a colossal super-warrior. In recent months he'd
also diagnosed several cases of primus apotheosis, which made
ordinary robots try to emulate Optimus Prime, and treated a medic who’d
been found obsessively examining Autobot badges. (The medic had
denied doing this.)
--------
“Trailbreaker’s question will be struck from the record,” said Xaaron.
“The moral issues raised by the existence of these bullets are for the
Committee to consider, not you.” He raised a hand to silence
Trailbreaker’s objection. “And the Committee has reached a decision.
Ironfist, please stand.
--------
He’d lived an itinerant life of late, latching onto a succession of Autobot
squads in the hope of recapturing the sense of belonging that he’d felt
when serving in his old platoon. He’d decided to help with Dipstick’s
reconstruction project until he could find something better suited to his
talents (those talents chiefly consisting of the ability to insert various
deadly projectiles into various deadly Decepticons). And while the thrill
of close combat hadn’t entirely deserted him, this most unreflective of
robots had recently identified a certain... hollowness inside him. His first
reaction, of course, had been to seek medical help. Fixit had carried out
a full body search and, finding no internal cavities, suggested that the
hollow feeling was not an early indication of corrodia gravis but “an
emotional response.” Guzzle had pondered this at length, until a pang
of acute discomfort had heralded the arrival of bona fide insight: he
was in mourning. Most of his old platoon had died trying to rescue Kup,
and he was still struggling to accept their deaths and the circumstances
surrounding them.
--------
Kup took his cygar out of his mouth and looked his protege up and
down. “There’s something different about you, lad... Ah! You’ve
polished. An’ that can only mean one thing: new recruits. Anyone I
know?”

“You know three of them, definitely. The fourth... well, between you and
me, he wasn’t my first choice.”
--------
The Last Stand of the Wreckers Trade Paperback is out tomorrow, Wednesday, September 1st. Along with entire 5-issue mini-series, the trade paperback will feature the Bullets short story, two new profiles (written and drawn by Nick Roche), a one-page Transformers Mosaic strip (written by James Roberts with art by Nick), an all-new pin-up by Josh Burcham, 25 Things You Didn't Know About Wreckers, and several unpublished sketches.

A Person Seriously Injured On Transformers 3

A person working on the filming of Transformers 3 was seriously injured on the set in Indiana Wednesday night, sources tell NBC Chicago. The person, a female, was transported via helicopter to a Chicago-area hospital after being injured on the set shortly before 7 p.m. An Indiana State Police spokesman did not provide any information as to the person's condition, what happened or to what hospital they were taken.

We wish her a speedy recovery.

The crew will be filming for the last time in Chicago on Thursday. Millennium Park will be the site of pyrotechnic explosions beginning at about 6 a.m. until 11 a.m., according to information provided by Chicago's Office of Emergency Management and Communications. A helicopter will be above the Chicago River from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., with brief rooftop pyrotechnics at various high-rise buildings along Wacker Drive. And from 7 p.m. until midnight, there will be intermittent street closures on Midway Plaisance between Woodlawn and Dorchester avenues, with limited use of pyrotechnics, the release said.

Some filming is also taking place around the University of Chicago. Parking restrictions are in place.

Here's another little bit of on-set filming for you today - a very heavily blue truck was seen at a stunt shoot on Cline Avenue in Whiting, Indiana. The all-blue truck will probably not make it into the final version of the film, as it is likely being used as a CGI reference plate for something to be added in post production. The question is, what? For now, while you speculate, check out some footage courtesy of Youtube user drinkmilkraw showing the stunt sequence for a little bit of "work in progress" work on what looks like an action-packed battle or chase sequence.

Next, we thought we'd share this interesting auction from Yahoo Japan that has recently come to light. It's for a set of three updated Headmaster Warriors - Lione, Shuffler and Kirk. These three were originally a part of the legendary set of six who are among the rarest items from the Japanese Generation 1 run on their original release. These however are updated designs that were produced by a third party company under license from Takara-Tomy, and sold exclusively at Wonderfest (which would have been termed under the license agreement. Such "event exclusives" are fairly common among Japanese garage kit companies at conventions). All three function like the original toys, with robot and head modes, and can even attach to genuine Generation 1 Headmaster bodies! However, the designs are updated to included elements such as proper, individual legs for Kirk.

The TF cover features Sideswipe, Prowl, Swoop, First Aid, Brainstorm, Bombshell and Scrapper and the GI Joe cover features Baron Bludd and Duke. The reason we have chosen these specific characters to grace the covers is because they were all voiced by legendary voice actor Michael Bell who will be joining us at the convention, signing comics, figures, DVDs etc...

Also joining us at the show will be the artists of both covers, penciler Casey Coller (who also penciled TF Spotlight Drift, Spotlight Blurr and the Ironhide mini series as well as numerous All Hail Megatron covers) and colorist John-Paul Bove. Still, like his Transformers Generation 1 predecessor, he features 2 big propeller engines. Meanwhile, Terradive is reminiscent of the Conquest X-30. Could the prop plane Autobot take out the "Conquesticon"?

2005 Boards sponsor and all around nice guy Red leader of Kapow Toys has shared with us some early CGI renderings of an upcoming unofficial third party product for your Classics Rodimus. The official name is "Blazer", a "Magnum Sidekick" figure, but fans of the original Generation 1 toys will recognize this as a reworking of Targetmaster Hot Rod's partner Firebolt. No word yet on who is making this piece or how much it will cost you, but we'll update you with more information once it is available. For now, enjoy the pictures. Magnum Sidekick Blazer is due for release in January 2011.

Thanks to 2005 boards member madmegas84 who was at SacAnime(an anime convention currently going on now in Sacramento, California) for giving us the heads up that Steven Blum, AKA BLUM, is the voice actor for Starscream in Transformers PRIME! Some members of the Transformers PRIME Cast were announced early last month.

Is the treacherous Decepticon air commander the only character BLUM will be voicing? Who else will join the cast?

Transformers 3 Accident - Gabriella Cedillo I

Two news regarding the Transformers 3 Accident.

Reports are coming in that Gabriella Cedillo had to undergo brain surgery on Thursday afternoon. She is now in stable condition. It’s happy to hear that she’s recovering. Hearts of all Transformers Fans are with her... Wishing a full and fast recovery.

Meanwhile, Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Paramount has spoken to them, Nikki Finke writes…
"Paramount just weighed in with me to say that the injured extra was not involved in the stunt, that her car was not involved in the stunt, that a "freak accident caused her injury", that she and her car were more than 500 feet from the stunt, that she was struck by a flying metal object whose welding had come apart and not by a steel towing cable, that the stunt from Tuesday had to be repeated Wednesday because of a "timing issue" and not because it had failed, and that "nobody has done movies more safely than Michael Bay". The studio, however, could not explain why its version of events was so at odds with the local police and media reports. "We feel horrible that anyone was injured and will take all appropriate action," a Paramount exec told me."

Also, some reports say that the filming of Transformers 3 is halted temporarily, although no official statement was made regarding that.

Jinxm of HK-TF has posted a rather extensive gallery of the TakaraTomy release of Wingblade Optimus Prime from Transformers Animated! The Japanese version of Wingblade Optimus Prime uses the voyager figure(a translucent version at that!) as the base, in lieu of the deluxe to be used on the forthcoming US Wingblade Optimus Prime.
