I recently picked up a loose Lady Deadpool this past week...so here's some quick thoughts...

Lady D was not a figure I initially planned on picking up, (I had already traded for her BAF piece) but after watching a few reviews, I figured why not (because I have a problem) and was able to get her on the cheap.

I'm truthfully surprised by how much I have enjoyed her this far. I really like the head sculpt, and I like the shade of red they went with for the plastic. The removable items like the harness and leg pouches are pulled off nicely, as they stay in place, and I like how the harness, while devoid of sheathes, do a good job with weapon storage, as it is not too tight to the body, but allows just enough wiggle room for them to be stored without smushing them against her body. Oh...and the Headpool accessory is well painted and a hoot.

The only drawbacks that I was able to nitpick were the lack of firearms (thankfully I've amassed plenty over the years, though my pistol collection is starting to run dry,) and I'm not particularly crazy about the Hellcat body mold being used here with the "cones". In addition, she doesn't seem to be able to stand up straight, thanks to her kneecaps being a bit big. No trigger fingers, but an easy mod and we're golden. The paints on mine were mostly crisp, but there was some fuzziness that I had to touch up. Shame that the Deadpools ended up with these paint issues, because my non DP figures from the wave (X23/Omega Red/Bishop) had some of the cleanest apps that I have seen in a year or more, giving me some Hope's that Hasbro was continuing to step up their game.

All things said, a complete and total shocker of a figure for me that I honestly had no expectations for as I had hold no ties to the character. I spent a bunch of time playing around with her, and even went through the trouble of customizing a "Wanda" head, something I wouldn't bother with if I didn't think it was a cool figure to begin with. Outside the classic DP we got back with Sasquatch, this might very well be my favorite DP to date.

(NOTE: I'm not sure what Lady D looks like under the mask as it seems there are versions of her being scarred and un-scarred, and Google images isn't much help as all it gave me were about 300 images of cosplay with varying degrees of success, so I played it safe and just stuck with the regular version. Hopefully you Lady D fans out there dig it...)

I hope we see Forge and Storm from the X-men wave. More from the Capt.Marvel wave of course like the Brie Larson figure and Mar-vell and some more AVENGERS. Oh and the Magneto three pack!! Oh and the X-men vintage wave!

Every single one of those would be a instant buys haha! I’m thinking they might shove off some Captain marvel figs nycc hopefully. I need some Skrulls, Brie, and Mar vell now haha! Man Hasbro has really stepped up this year

I just hope the Scarlet Witch in the rumored three pack is not a reissue. I want her to have a more classic Perez/Byrne appearence.

Really hoping to see more from the Captain Marvel wave. Rumors aside, the only figures from the wave revealed so far appear to be Genis-Vell & the Kree Sentry BAF. Not expecting much in the way of MCU reveals. Hasbro's NYCC reveals from the past have been primarily comic-based.

I hope they confirm if the x-wave baf is gonna be Strong Guy or not. If it is I'm just gonna assume we get some more x-factor guys later on.

Why is everyone so obsessed with Strong Guy?

I feel like we only get 3 maybe 4 ML reveals at NYCC, and they do that at the investor breakfast or dinner event. Based on what we have been shown so far, I would bet we get our 1st look at the Brie Larson Captain Marvel figure, maybe something else from the X-Men wave. I know Forge has been teased, so maybe him. We could see movie Shuri, and hopefully 1 or both of the (movie) Black Order members we're missing.

Finally completed the Apocalypse BAF today and really like him, overall its a fun wave (if only they had given us a classic Magneto!!!!!)

Just looking at the lineup and wondered was this line a holdover from 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse? Seeing how we got:

Magneto
Mohawk Storm
Psylocke
Apocalypse

Who all appeared in the film (plus Wolverine although not the Tiger stripe version)

In all seriousness, I'm still trying to figure out if most of the Canadian Expo reveals were for the X-wave or for a separate Wolverine wave. If it's a separate Wolverine wave that's great, maybe we could see Lady Deathstrike that way. Maybe some more reveals would clear that up. I don't think the Wendigo sculpt is awful but I would really hate for him to be the BAF for the X-wave this year when there's so much more pressing characters to be done. Also if those figures are part of the X-Men wave it's going to be the weakest wave (IMO) of the brand so far since they came back in 2016. Even if the two remaining figures are Jim Lee Storm and Forge. the Original Hasbro Forge is decent enough (yes, I'm sure a new one would be better but at least it's not a Toy Biz figure.) Skullbuster, Weapon X (for me) Meh. I'm already discussed Guardian. I could actually see me piecemeal ordering this wave for Gambit, Blink and JL Storm as the Wendigo is not compelling enough for me to case order.

With all the updated X-Men villains I'm sure we will get Lady Deathstrike at some point in the near future. I wonder if they will reuse the Carnage hands for her

One of the best 5" figures toy biz made. That's where my love of Guido came from. But I also like him in X-factor comics in 90's.

Lady Deathstrike would be a treat. The only thing that makes her a bit tough is she has rarely had a cohesive consistent “look”. She rarely has had the same outfit or character design twice. Her main identifiers are slice and dice hands and vaguely samurai’ish outfit.

Alpha flight is high on my wish list. As is a few not yet seen Avengers. Tigra, 80’s Monica Rambeau, and maybe an actual Jarvis figure.
