For the record, I don't blaim Shane for "abandoning" Rick in the pilot. Fighting your way into a hospital swamped with walkers where the National Guard completely failed, in order so you could drag around a human vegitable that no one has any reason to believe he'd survive without life support, is not exactly a reasonable expectation out of a man, during the zombie apocalypse.
For once, I feel Shane was well within his rights, and Rick probably would have preferred Shane focus on rescuing Lori and Carl, anyway.

I'd agree with this. Honestly, I can't really remember the first season very well, so the actual sequence of events that played out is fuzzy to me, but saving a vegetable would be the last thing on my "things to do during a zombie apocalypse" list. Best friend or not. You have to make decisions quickly, and there are some calculated risks you must take. But that is not one of them.

This season has been great. So far everything is going as planned for me. I wanted Dale, Shane, Andrea, Lori and Carl dead, and so far things are progressing nicely for me. :)

I am REALLY excited for this Sunday night!

It'll be too bad that we'll have to wait it out for season 3 after this week, though :(

In Shane's defense he DID put that gurney in front of the door in hopes that no zombie would get in Rick's room.

To clarify I'm not saying Shane was wrong for leaving rick n the hospital, just that he didnt save him, or even expect him to live. He shouldnt be condemned or credited for his actions in the hospital. He did what had to be done.
Heck given the situation and the fact rick was completely helpless I probably would have killed him to spare him from being eaten. Season two shane def would have.

I think shanes losing humanity with in him and basically just in survival mode and willing to do whatever it takes no matter the cost shows that eventually if we allow are selfs to be overwhelmed with just surviving we are no different from the walkers they kill everyday.. so i thank shane for his final sacrifice.. I wish he didn't die either LOL

Ok, so..... I loved this finale. Everything I hated about the slow-ass first half of season 2 was rectified by this episode. Rick was pretty much like, "Fuck you people".
