Il Cattivo 06-17-2016 08:54 PM

sooo is the 4" multiverse line back? that's what I wanna know.

snake5289 06-17-2016 09:02 PM

Wouldn't count on it mate. No one seems to really give a flying **** about the 3.75 scale anymore.

Soooo, are you saying you are no one?

snake5289 06-18-2016 08:47 AM

Alright I kind of walked into that one. Well I wouldn't say I'm very hopeful about it anymore.

LordMudd 06-18-2016 09:19 AM

I think it should be that the people who should care the most actually care the least. If you develop a brand that is successful and has a loyal fan base, then abandon it, you are not exactly promoting customer loyalty. That doesn't seem like good business in a market where almost everybody has some kind of loyalty rewards program. I wouldn't want to be a Mattel exec.

I really don't get why the scales just can't get along nowadays. If anything, it would likely be more profitable to treat BOTH scales right, as you have two markets of loyal fans who are willing to buy your merchandise if you dish it out properly.

Just because a line like Marvel Universe or even DC Multiverse(to a smaller degree)were created to bring up demand for 6 inch doesn't mean you should chuck them and their fans when the other scale makes a comeback.

snake5289 06-18-2016 11:33 AM

Very true. It baffles me why that kind of logic isn't more common among the higher-ups at Mattel and Hasbro.

Hell yeah. Hopefully this won't be a pain to get for the people who can't go to SDCC.

I can see people prioritizing other sets over this one, to be quite honest. If they had just taken the time to make a properly articulated Wonder Woman for it, I would be all over it.

It'd make sense to let the cross market platforms of the scale proliferate.

Between GI Joe, and more of that scale that allow for background play fodder like military for Superman to rescue or maybe even protect Lois from. Captain America and his own army squads, or Military response to Zod or Ultron, or what have you. The play benefits for kids with this scale and the cross play works wonders. Even allowing originally some Ben 10 cross play.

I mean it's not like kids keep their toys separate and pristine on a shelf, and even collectors have some fun with that. I'm honestly surprised I haven't seen more Cable with Batman Beyond stuff, or Az Bats with punisher.

The sales kind of push each other's lines not so much as a competitive market but as a unified market. At least when done right.

LordMudd 06-19-2016 07:16 AM

I have always said that the perfect scale is 1/18 because in order to have a successful line you need 3 things: figures, vehicles, and playsets. Look at some of the great vehicles and playsets we have had and then try to imagine the cost of them for 6" scale? 8" scale? 12"? You can get most characters in 1/18 scale...NOW. What irks me is when a company cannot stay in scale with itself. The Mattel Green Lantern figures were acceptable because the human characters were already done in DCIH and the rest were aliens and didn't have to be perfect scale, but then they did Young Justice in scale with no other line on the market. If you can't get a company to unify within it's own ranks, how can you get it to unify with other companies, much less see the potential profit in doing so?

I agree. It would even be possible to make a slightly smaller sized figure with the same things, but that might make the artic less viable. I always thought MASK were an interesting scale.

I don't see why they didn't just put a new figure in there. This seems cheap. I really really hope that plane packaging is resealable. Then again, for $15 I doubt it will be...

It is vacuform, cheap and easy to make, so that may not reflect in the price. I get resealable vacuform boxes of cookies from Kroger all of the time. It just depends on the quality and skill of the manufacturer they chose for this.

Do you guys know a good place online where I can get most of the Multiverse stuff for cheap? I wanna get all of the Arkhamverse rogues gallery, including the 2 packs with the giant-sized figures, Robin, and the Arkham Batmen.

I'm seriously regretting not getting these guys when they were on clearance.

I haven't really seen these on clearance so much, but a few can still be found in out of the way places like oddball Walgreens stores.

Amazon has them for good prices, typically, and the paint apps are always good. If you don't find some figures cheap there, check EBay.

Kamatayan 06-20-2016 03:48 AM

Thanks for the info everyone. For now I guess I'll just check a Five Below or Walgreens whenever I see one. If I get get some guys like Red Hood, the Arkham Knight, Deathstroke, or Robin for really cheap, buying the rest of them shouldn't be too hard of a feat. Most of the Multiverse line were pegwarming and going on clearance. I should have gotten them when I had the chance.

DocBot89 06-20-2016 08:46 AM

Hey guys, I work at Walgreens and we have been getting a decent amount of the later waves in stock on our trucks. That being said, I haven't been able to track down a Superman. Anyone have an extra for sale or know of any of the discount chains carry that wave?

You talking the Reeve Superman? That thing was scalped from day one, and only went down once(which is the window of time that I got it). You're gonna have to stalk a few websites, but maybe try BBTS? It's the last place I saw it for a reasonable price($10.99).

Does anyone actually collect those things?

Reeve Superman being scalped? That guy used to pegwarm at my local stores. Had no idea he was a desirable figure.
