All these themed reveals are great. That said if we don't get Nefaria for the Italy con I'll be annoyed. I'm not sure what other straight up Italian there is.

Also, France con would have been ideal for a Swordsman, but I am glad we're getting GG, even if he wasn't on my list.

Not all that impressed with the two SPider-wave reveals, but since I'm getting the wave twice over anyways, it is what it is.

ariellagunas 10-26-2018 02:32 PM

As an older Marvel fan I was very happy with the reveals of Loki, Puma and Grey Gargoyle.
Thou I took the kids to London comic con and they were no longer showing any new figures. I asked and they say they will be reveal on Sunday, etc.
All this talk about classic characters never having a Marvel Legends size figure got me thinking about whom are we missing, that's been on a 100 issues or more of marvel comics.
Of the top of my head here's my list ( but do consider I'm in my forties).
From THE AVENGERS:
Jocasta
Mantis
Swordsman
Quasar
Moondragon
Two-Gun Kid
Stingray
Doctor Druid (I know, I know)
Starfox (Thanos' brother for pete's sake)
Firebird
Silverclaw ( I've included her cause I like silver)
Arachne (AKA Spider-woman II)
Jack Of Hearts (I'd love to see the faces of the painters thou)
Blue Marvel
Squirrel Girl
Miss America Chavez
Shroud

Tim, thanks buddy, stopped at a GameStop, and picked up some ‘must haves’ and an extra Archagel and Cap key chain.

Note: Both the Apocalypse and Sauron wave have not got my local Walmart,Target or Walgreens...Will have to keep my head on a swivel now that I know GameStop is starting to stock ML more and more...

ariellagunas 10-26-2018 02:48 PM

Also from the X-Men never been done I'd consider classics...
Storm first appearance and yes, Jim Lee too.
Mimic
Changeling (only because the Morph character derives from him)
Thunderbird ( the original, gone too soon)
Dazzler (cheating here, but her blu suit is a must)
Cecelia Reyes ( she's definitely b or c list, but I'd love another sexy black lady)
Marrow
Maggott (just a very cool design)
Sage ( very weird retcon, but it was well done, I still call her Tessa. Sue me)
Chamber
M
Penance (the original and imo the best)
Husk (he'll knows how she can be done in toy form)
Hepzibah (and why not Corsair, C'hod and Raza)
Boom Boom ( wasn't the biggest fan, too much like Jubilee, but she's grown on me)
Rictor
Strong Guy
Legion
X-Man
Moira Mctaggart (why did they kill such a badass character?)
Lilandra (exotic aliens get me any time, see Bereet from the Hulk series)
Nocturne
Siryn
Darkstar (great underused character, great for Champions display)
Skin
Madeleyne Pryor ( before the crap inferno, she was waay cool)
Dust (very cool looking character and power set)
Stepford Cuckoos (bonkers Grant Morrison concept that became a super duper concept)
Meggan ( why oh why this sweet and terrifying lady has not been made yet?)

Captain Nash 10-26-2018 02:58 PM

I'd definitely add Sersi, Living Lightening, and Crystal to the Avengers list, and if they are considered classic Justice and Firestar. Though they're in that weird time between Post Onslaught and the beginning of New Avengers.

For the X-Men I'd add in Moonstar, Sunspot, Wolfsbane, Karma, Magmam Cyoer (though the last four I have no actual attachment to.) Siryn and Synch. That would cover us for the pre-2000's mutant explosion that Morrison started.

ariellagunas 10-26-2018 03:43 PM

My classic list for some of the B-teams never been done in Legends is as follows:
THE DEFENDERS:
I'd love to see The Gargoyle, Clea, Red Guardian II, Son Of Satan and Devil-Slayer.
THE NEW MUTANTS:
Karma (a character with a very rich story that deserves way more)
Magma. (Likewise, crap storylines but cools powers)
Sunspot
Cannonball
Danielle Moonstar
Wolfsbane ( I cannot get the hate for this character as she's very interesting)
Cypher (boring character on paper, but great storylines, add Warlock parts)
ALPHA FLIGHT: besides mr Byrne opines, they had a great initial run, in how to deconstruct a team on their first issue.
Marrina Smallwood is a must. Another missused character ( the whole snake thing was terrible). She supposed to be the most powerful marine hero. Wasted potential.
Aurora (Byrne gave her dissociative persona, and made her so interesting)
Northstar (he's a very rich character that's been first on some storytelling )
Shaman, perhaps the most cliche if the alphans, but his outfit rocks.
Snowbird (she's boring looking, but then, becomes a giant owl or bear, and slept with Hercules. Well that's cool enough for me.
It's never gonna happen but Box, Talisman and Vindicator, should be there to have a basic alpha line, like mini mates did.
From the NEW WARRIORS, since we are getting Night Trasher (shock! Glee) , we need Justice and yes the Firestar, plus Namorita, Speedball, Rage and Turbo.
Also THE ETERNALS need some love ( as Jack Kirby was awesome). I would need Ikaris, Thena, Sersi and Makkari at least.
Not going into the INHUMANS asCrystal, Lockjaw,Triton, and Gorgon all should already been immortalised in legends.
And also some more heroes that have been forgotten, like the kids in POWER PACK, the IMPERIAL GUARD (specially Oracle, Smasher, Fang, Hussar and Warstar. And the STARJAMMERS, Raza, C''hod, Corsair and Lady Hepzibah.
Not to mention the original GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY:
We got Vance Astro,; where are Charlie-27, Marinex, Yondu, Starhawk and Nikki?
What about Bug? A Micronaut owned by Marvel.
And finally even I'm not old enough for even those, how about some GOLDEN AGE heroes?
The Whizzer was an honorary Avenger
Miss America was the original mother of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch,
Spitfire and Union Jack were great as later additions to the Invaders.
The Blonde Phantom was in the She-Hulk series
The original Black Widow was amazeballs in The Twelve. Ok I'm pushing it. But why not?
All these characters I've mention in my three previous posting are what I call legends.
The Red Goblin? Not so much.

Captain Nash, I was hoping you would respond. Yes. I put those characters were they spend their most iconic IMO time. New Mutants and New warriors are not forgotten at all. I love them all. I don't post much, but I guess who's my generation or thereabouts....

SeingtusLupus 10-26-2018 04:26 PM

I'm very glad for those that wanted Grey Gargoyle and Classic Loki. I'm truly happy that Hasbro is giving wanted obscure characters ( Night Thrasher, so excited). All that aside the new reveals will be an easy pass for me, as I mostly collect Spider-Man related and street level heroes and villains.

Starlord67 10-26-2018 04:29 PM

Someone said "BUG" my all-time fave Micronauts and he could be a re-use of a new Nightcrawler body!! Yes insectovoid love!!

I also want some INHUMANS, ALPHANS & ETERNALS (considering there's a suppossed movie in the works I expect Ikaris and Sersi anytime)
I'd also like to see the Soviet Super Soldiers done...who doesn't love big mutant Bears??!!
More Defenders like Clea,Gargoyle and Hellstorm (a name probably more acceptable to the masses)

And bring on FIRESTAR for heavens sake! She's way overdue!

As far as X-men go...give us the Giant Sized X-men set with STORM, THUNDERBIRD,BANSHEE,COLOSSUS & NIGHTCRAWLER !!

ariellagunas 10-26-2018 05:03 PM

Ok peeps, last post before bed (UK Time).
I heard it all about the bad representation of Marvel Female villains ( can't spell villainess to save my life!) in Legends. But someone said there aren't many important ones. And he/she is right!
I had to look it up to find them. The X-men got a few, the Avengers a couple, but overall not that many that have been in many issues.
I don't know why this is so, but I might guess, not going into that either. But these are some with enduring power...
Mystique, Lady Deathstrike, Spiral and Deathbird for the X-men.
Morgan le Fey for the Avengers... It's not great is it.
Viper and Madame Masque are also out there.
The problem, I think, is when they have a great villain female, they turn her into a hero.
I mean Emma Frost was waay awful. Hero. And so and goes.
Elektra was a bloody assassin , and yet... A hero of sorts, the list goes on and on.
So, who is out there that is an all out villainess? Not that many you may find, hehe.

Ok, so we have the witchy ones, Umar and Morgane. None of them are high profile, so, no legends.
Hellfire ladies: Emma, now good. Tessa?now good.Selene? Pretty please, keep this lady evil so we can have this old witch threatening outer heroes. And yes, we need Selene. She's awseome/terrible.
Lady Deathstrike and Deathbird. They are bad ass, but never consistent. Still, we need these b***s.
I love any King Arthur story so Morgan with her cool claws is a must.
Umar has a rocking mullet and she's so 70's cool I need her too. Never gonna happen.
Now Spider-man doesn't have many female opponents.
Shierk, Agony, and Menace are names thrown there, but I don't know much about them. White Rabbit seems to be a favourite. And I get it. She look cool.
How about Charlotte Winter Spider-Woman? She look cool
Spider-man also battle a Poison way back then, in an Annual who looked like an s&m black canary but had cool eye make up. I'll sign for that.
Now, I know we don't have Ultron's first love Jocasta (whom I adore, do check marvel comics of the 80,s blog The Jocasta In me to know why) but how about Alkhema?
Now that would beat Ultramans foe lady out of the water. (Wink).

More ladies turn good (yawn) CALLISTO. We need an agly lady with a fit bod.
Zaladane, was Polaris' sister for a minute and you've missed it.

Rita DeMara was Yellowjacket, and then she was a GOTG and then she died. Well done.

Oh, Destiny looked cool... Dead.
Frenzy... Turned hero.
Gosh, it's so boring. I agree there aren't many marvel ladies worth its salt, and remain evil.
And the ones that do, they are peripheric.
I quite like Gypsy Moth. Oh no, sexy lady Skein (really?!?) in Thunderbolts
That's why, besides Titania, I quite like my different sizes villains...
Volcana is great, bring her back.
Princess Python, always devious. And sexy, but owning it.
Ruby Thursday, the most personality in a snooker ball.
Vertigo I, from Salem's Seven (Google my friends)
Vertigo II (the savage land mutate and marauder)
Lilith ( an anti hero, but I dint care, I love her. Draculas Daughter)
Lilith II ( not a hero. Mother of demons. 90's stuff. Cool)
Sin ( Red Skull''s daughter, boring. IMHO)
Quicksand ( Thor's enemy, quite cool, Sandman lady but worse.)
Titania
Volcana ( turned good, but I love her character and plus size, reminds me of WW divas)
Asp ( Cleopatra as a villain, not that interesting)
Black Mamba ( another Serpent Society member, quite cool)
Anaconda ( insane Serpent society member, very cool, they''ll never make her. They should)
Black Racer ( cool outfit, zero history )
Coachwhip (s & m outfit. Weird)
Nemesis ( Alpha Flight villain, massively cool outfit. Thou c list)
Pink Pearl ( another Alpha Flight enemy, not gonna happen. Obvious reasons)
Reptilla (one of the Salems Seven, if she happen would be the coolest toy ever)
Frenzy (X-men villain. She's cool, but not ,consistent story. I like her. A lot.)
Arclight ( another X-men villain. I think she was in a movie. Silver outfit. Me like.)
Destiny (shit, what can I say bout Irene. Just crap storytelling . But she was cool for five minutes. Way older, backstory was never explain properly. Supposed to be Rogue's mom, but alas, never happened. Dead now. But part of Days Of Future Past storyline, so iconic. ) < see also Avalanche.>

Yellowjacket ( I have no idea when this was coming from. The character was a throwaway fronThe Avangers Siege plot, and then became a Guardian Of the Galaxy and then died. It was the 90's I was snoozing. It was bad....

And I have one more I can remember that's a classic. And that's Princess Python.
And I don't care.... It's all about those Incredible Hulk issues I grew up with in which she was the evilness, and sexiness lady with a deadly overgrown snake to snared the emerald giant. And that's a hoot.
Bring her on.

Thanx for reading .x

Ok. Let me just tell you this from the outset:

I effing love THE MICRONAUTS.

I JUST don't understand why there's no Microns series. I get it. Whomever owns Space Glider, Acroyear (it hurts) etc, but for God s sake, Huntarr, Marionette , Jasmine, BUG, Devil, Fireflyre, commander Rann, Scion, Solitaire,, Belladonna, can bring a new series to us. I get we cannot get Karza or Soace Glider, but the series run for years. Why the powerful Marvel don't launch a MICRONAUTS I might die before it happens. It doesn't matter in the great big scheme of things, but I thing they should bring it back into the fore. And into the marvel universe. I'm sorry bout misspelling.

hasbroherofan 10-26-2018 05:47 PM

So it looks like of the first two Avengers waves we're getting next year, the line-up is:

Movie:
- Shuri
- Corvus Glaive
- Ebony Maw
- ???
- ???
- ???
- ???

Comic:
- Loki
- Hercules
- Nighthawk
- Living Laser
- Beta Ray Bill
- ???
- ???

I wonder if the War Machine design we saw is planned for the comic wave. Right now Loki is the heaviest hitter but I figure there's gotta be another big Avengers-related character they could use like WM or a classic Thor.

Unfortunately Hasbro is probably going to operate under "hey we did give you a BRB so shut up about it" even though they aren't giving us the look we want. I like Bill too much to skip on the one they're doing anyway but it seems slim that they'd even consider doing classic now since he's still not a popular character.

Thor Laserpunch 10-26-2018 06:09 PM

Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. Ba dum tish!

hasbroherofan 10-26-2018 06:32 PM

I'm also one of the people who generally loves Oliver Coipel's art, so going with that look for BRB doesn't bother me much.

But then, with few exceptions, I'm also always in favor of characters getting different looks when they're redone in Legends.

I’d say 2 maybe three more female characters and the rest mostly MCU, though the female characters could also be MCU. Still thinking we’ll get a single MCU vision and maybe Scarlet Witch. Other females could likely be Tigra or Moondragon. I’m still throwing in Quasar, Neferia or Graviton as possible non MCU males.

7 slots left I’ll say:
Tigra
MCU Scarlet Witch
MCU Vision
MCU Hawkeye
MCU Captain America
MCU War Machine

7th spot open with one of the possibilities above. Non MCU character more than likely which would give the two waves total a 8/6 split between MCU and non Mcu.

Edit: whoops I see we’ve only got six slots open not seven. Take out Cap and leave the 6th slot as open comic. 7/7 split between MCU and non.

Trivial Psychic 10-26-2018 07:38 PM

Older figures and I'm sure most of us have them by now, but BBTS now has the former TRU exclusive Mary Jane/ANAD Spider-Man two pack for sale. Good second chance for those of you who might have whiffed on this one during TRU's dying days.

Veronica Mars 10-26-2018 08:15 PM

What do people think, does Richard Rider Nova need an update or is the one from the first Guardians wave good enough?

Personally I'm happy with that one but a classic Nova would be welcome. Technically they could do a new Nova based on his current look but it's way too close to what we already have for me to think Hasbro would bother.

Pravus Prime 10-26-2018 11:57 PM

There better be a classic Thor on the way.

I just want a classic Shadowcat in her blue Excalibur outfit... all the pieces are their I think.

Design wise i like his outfit but inthink he should be redone on a taller body....the gotg 1 version seems a tad short.
