They could easily use any of the modern molds to update her, I lean towards hoping for Hellcat

Hopefully the vintage wave includes a non gummy Iceman

Me neither, but with some slight retooling, it could work.

Whenever I think of Meggan, I always think of her big ****-eating grin, so I think that a retool of the new, upcoming Black Cat head would work nicely for a future figure.

Could the Vintage series get us a Dark Phoenix who's not absurdly limited & stuck with a Cyclops nobody wants?

Yes please, and I really want it to have translucent hair like the Binary form Captain Marvel and the original 5 inch Dark Phoenix figure.

Boy Blunder 01-06-2019 06:13 PM

The one thing I really want from a vintage X-Wave is a Jim Lee Jean redux. Anything else is a bonus.

As for X-Force, I'd hope for Cannonball, Feral, Warpath, and Siryn. And pray for Marrow.

Though I gotta wonder, why isn't Caliban the X-Force BAF?

Some “Legends” appreciation...

Note: I’m glad to hear from other on this site that Hasbro will be doing some figures in the vintage wave...I think if Hasbro does it right, and with quality paint apps and accessories, the vintage wave can be a real success...

Yah but that 24.99 price tag for them vintage wave things plus the fact it seems only gamestop and a few select targets carry them..... hopefully they get better distribution and lower prices. Especially with the barebones style of em,

SymbiSpidey 01-06-2019 07:32 PM

Here's a potential X-Force wave:

BAF: Wendigo (Obviously)

X-Force Wolverine
Fantomex
Warpath (Either 90s or modern X-Force uniform, would prefer 90s look)
X-Factor Havok
Guardian
Snowbird
Mr. Sinister

It's a nice balance here. You get two villains, one Alpha Flight villain and one classic X-Men villain, two modern X-Force members, two Alpha Flight members, one 90s X-Force member and another X-Factor member to go with Multiple Man. I think most people would want a good chunk of this wave.

I have a feeling 90s Storm will pop up this year, but I don't think it'd be here. I'd imagine Hasbro wants to either throw her into a proper X-Men wave, or release her as an exclusive figure, most likely for Walgreens.

I like that. Id just replace xforce wolvie with xfactor polaris and hope phantomex was his grey costume to avoid that ugly white plastic discoloration. Just like if we get a jim lee storm i hope her outfit is either silver or black.

Recently, I've been thinking a lot about how one could maybe modify the SP//dr BAF to have more articulation, because as cool as the sculpt on this figure is, the shoulders are incredibly useless, and the hips are very annoying to deal with.

I'm thinking the best solution for the shoulders would be to implement a Figuarts/import line-style butterfly joint system; you'd hollow out the upper torso, place two ball joints deep into the torso, have bars coming from those with ball ends out of the torso and the red parts of the shoulders plug onto those, so that you not only have a smaller ball so it gets more range in that middle area, but also you can then raise the bar joint so that the shoulder can clear the torso and get, like, almost 90 degrees out. Maybe you could hollow out the grey bit of the existing shoulder joint and have it act as a hider piece for the shoulder/butterfly joint bar.

For the legs, I'm thinking you could modify the hip piece so that the peg goes straight down like normal instead of 45 out to the side (with corresponding straight down peg socket in the thigh), but it's slightly offset outwards, so the axis of the peg is not aligned with the ball joint of the hip. Then, in the leg, you'd have the socket not just as a hole in the thigh piece, but as a separate piece that can slide out from the leg a bit so you can have a bit a sliding leg joint system similar to the S.H. Figuarts TLJ Stormtroopers, so that the figure could actually move the leg directly out to the side a good ways without trimming down any of the outer sculpt or anything.

I don't know, I might be crazy, but that's what I've been thinking about in terms of improving SP//dr.

If only I actually knew how to implement any of those changes...

Where do they cost $25? Usually they only cost ~$20 like other Legends in Target or online retailers.

I hate to be "that guy" but I'm in that boat too. Don't need the movie stuff, just the BAF parts.

You say April seems to so far, but in the next week you'll be like, "Damn, those are coming out already? It seems like it was just Jan when they went up for prorder."

Hasbro is killing me with these high-heel boots and uber-thick soles on BAFs. First Apocalypse, now the Sentry. I get why Tom Cruise wears lifts (he's a little guy: 5'6" at best), but I don't appreciate Hasbro trying to artificially boost the height of these figs. Silly looking at best, disingenuous con-job at worst...

Not only that but that kree sentry looks like the robot from the old disney movie the black hole, except with arms, legs and a bigger torso....but that head....yeesh. Do the kree not have cable tv?

Awwww man. We're supposed to be on the same wavelength given that we're of the same generation....

You didn't love V.I.N.C.E.N.T. and whatever the name of that Swiss Army robot was??? It pains me to think that I may have been one of the only fans of The Black Hole...along with Logan's Run and other forgettable space jaunts circa '79-'80 not named Star Wars. Let me refresh your memory of the sheer excellence on display in that epic:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AFSb3v9oXI

Ahhhh, it hasn't lost a beat since its debut...

Personally, the head is one of my favorite parts of the Sentry BAF. Outside of the disco-soles, I like the BAF. It looks like the Sentry models from Annihilation: Conquest with enough of a nod (the head you mentioned) to the original design. What I don't like is Hasbro engaging in a fast one by creating the illusion of greater height.

I love the old black hole movie. Its funny how robert forester hadnt really changed since then...other than older obviously. I was always sad that they never did a 2nd one to show where the survivors ended up. I was always sad vinnie didnt save bob.

Ran into the Black Panther wave today at GameStop, and and by renewing my Rewards card, I was actually able to grab each of these figures for about 17.50 a piece, only adding about 4 dollars to my total bill overall. Not a bad trade-off if you ask me.

Outside of a maybe a new MCU Cap, Kingpin or Spider-Man themed figures, these will probably be the last MCU based figures I'll be picking up for a while. Klaue and Killmonger look great, and despite my LOATHING of double dipping, I picked up the Civil War Panther again because I had sold mine off some time ago and liked this design much more than the one from the solo film.
