Been flipping through some Essential Spider-Man, kinda hoping we get the Kingpin BAF repainted in pinstripes with a new head as Dr. Faustus!

That's not a bad suggestion. This is a mold that does not repurpose itself or a ton of uses. Shadow King we've got covered, Fostus would work well, maybe Mr. Hyde and the Owl with some overlays and a little tweaking, I honestly can't think of who else, Blob would be larger and not in a suit...

The arms and legs could be used for Joe Fixit hulk but we'd need a new muscular torso :D

Faustus would work well. But Hyde and the Owl should be broader and more barrel shaped. They don't have the roundness of Kingpin or Faustus. The arms and legs would work well for them. But the torso would need to be a bit straighter, with less belly.

Depending on the artist, I think Hyde could be either round or slim, but I would definitely want him slim! I was all set to say we gotta get Faustus since we don't have many Cap villains, but then I realized we've got:

Nuke
Red Skull
Arnim Zola
Baron zemo/Strucker
MODOK
Secret Empire Cap
Batroc
AIM and Hydra soldiers

And that's just off the top of my head haha

TheBlueMarvel 01-12-2019 01:35 PM

The Kingpin BAF is too soft looking and small (arms and shoulders) to be either a Mr Hyde or Joe Fixit, regardless of artist, imo. Yes, Joe was smaller than the other Hulks, but not by much. And Mr Hide has Hulk-like proportions, roughly the size of Fixit. Not poo pooing, just my opinion.

There's no 2nd wave but there are 2 retail exclusives. They're different versions of MCU Carol.

With a dorky name like Starforce, I was kind of expecting a cheesy space sword or something over the top. Not to worry, I took care of it.

That would be perfect. All of them.
Also, now that I have Gladiator, Phyla and Moondragon would give me figure representation for every roster member of the new Guardians team.
Well, those two and Beta Ray Bill, once I pick him up.
Did Cosmo ever briefly end up in the Nova Corps? Or am I thinking of some fanart I saw? Either way, he looked really cool in the uniform and I want it.

At least its not called super saber space starforce. Nice overly corny space blade. And before phyla there better be the original Quasar first. ;) And i would love to see cosmo in the gotg duds.

Brownfinger 01-12-2019 04:35 PM

Quasar would be the sheeeeeit.
Why did we get Grey freaking Gargoyle before we got Quasar?

Because hasbro is cruel. Its the same reason hasbro is cutting artic and giving us web gear with molded weapons...im lookin’ at you steel brigade killmonger and mcu crossbones.

TheBlueMarvel 01-12-2019 04:55 PM

Wendell has topped fan polls for years. We got Darkhawk and a 2nd Black Bolt before a Quasar fig. Silly stuff.

Dont forget nighthawk too. I mean dont get me wrong im glad hes getting made but yah where the hell is quasar?! And while we are at it lets get a classic whizzer made.

Captain Nash 01-12-2019 05:34 PM

While I'd definitely preferred Gravitron or Nefaria over Grey Gargoyle, I like getting C & D level villains. The big bads need their henchmen and minions to fill out the ranks. I try to pick up as many villains as I can, as long as it's not a BAF or AU version I have no real interest in. I think the only ones I've passed on have been spider-related and Boomerang.

Cutting articulation? Where? They're just as consistently inconsistent now as they've been for the past several years with regards to things like shin swivels and whatnot. And the molded-in weapons isn't remotely new either.

On a lotta newer figures, mainly mcu ive noticed. And yes molded weapons may not be new but up until recent years most characters who came with guns had holsters forthem. Not all no but most. I mean it wouldnt have been hard to put a drop leg holster from paladin on steel brigade killmongers leg ? Or to have an empty holster on the belt instead of molding the pistol into it.

Just saying its starting to be more and more prevelant and im not terribly thrilled with it.

Respect the star saber dude...its the only weapon in the galaxy that could snuff out Megatron's spark.

Good repurpose of that weapon there...

Graviton and Nefaria are nearly as annoyingly absent as Quasar. At least we are getting Living Laser and that Nighthawk looks nice.

I'm glad for those! LL has been on my longer wish list for a while now, and Nighthawk, while not something I was wishing for, does at least complete the bigger named Defenders, and leads us to Squadron Supreme addition as well.

While there's a crap ton of X-villains I want to see made, the list of general marvel villains is not that long for me, though like I said I'll usually buy any they put out. Nefaria and Graviton definitely lead the pack but I really need a Wizard, Maximus, Morgan Le Fay, Attuma, Black Swan, Titania, Morlun and Hood as well. Oh and of course, after years of poking fun at him, I'm going to need a Stegron, too.

Brownfinger 01-12-2019 06:46 PM

I'd love that.
With some cheap remolding, swap out the pelvis piece to add a tail and swap plates for the armor, they could make a pretty decent Stegron from Cull Obsidian.
Black Swan is on my list as well, I need more cosmic villains in general.

Was thinking more about it, and if the 70's porn costume was at all a deterrent, they could definitely make a figure of this version of Moondragon instead:

https://i.imgur.com/M37LtOU.png

Which I really like.
As much as I like her old costume because uhhhhhh reasons, it does look like something right out of a lot of one of those terrible old movies you might see being mocked on Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Good eye! Still one of the coolest weapons I own.

Boy Blunder 01-12-2019 06:55 PM

If anyone still has them at their Walmart, the Thor/Sif pack is only $25

TheBlueMarvel 01-12-2019 08:02 PM

I also want Moondragon. Any outfit is fine, but the Annihilation armored-swimsuit would be nice enough as a modern(ish) representation. I really want a Thanos in his Samaritan gear. Coolest shit I've ever seen on Thanos.

hasbroherofan 01-12-2019 11:34 PM

Hercules, Nighthawk and Living Laser are starting to show up on EBay.

As much as I disagree with jmurray and Nash in that I actually do rather like this costume, I have to agree it reminds me a lot of Gears.

The comparison doesn't really work for me, Gears torso is largely red with no and Jeans is largely blue.

If social media complaints about them being hard to find is any judge, it seems like the Captain Marvel MLs and dolls are selling quite well.
