So does anybody have any good ideas for a black soft goods cloak/robe in this scale? I really wanna try the Malgus one but I don't I'll find it since it's buried in my collection.

I started having a hard time finding vinyl for capes until I realized old notebook binder work just fine. I made capes for my Remco U M. figures by taking a Star Wars cape and using it as a pattern. You could try this approach, make a pattern from one that is close and adjust the size of it.

Are there any other figures from this era of DC 3.75"/4" figures with this kind of articulation? Most of the 4" figures from this era look totally out of place compared to the Multiverse and DC Collectibles figures we currently have except for these.

I'm getting a robe commissioned for the Ra's idea I have. Unfortunately, the guy doing it for me doesn't have the Zod figure to make exact measurements. He says he has most of the MU bucks and said that he could do it if he knows which body mold is around the same height of Zod.

I was wondering if any of you guys with the Zod figure would be willing to help me out and send pictures of the main MU bucks like the Cyclops or Multiple Man buck.

Articulation got better toward the end. I would have to go digging to find anything specific.

Thanks so much!

I was looking through the link @Autobot_Goldbug sent me (thanks so much for that btw) and I found this figure. I thought it had the standard bland articulation most of the figures from that line had but after a lot of digging for a clear picture of it online it appears to have Starro level articulation which is only a notch under standard MU articulation. Just thought it was really cool and the Parallax infected Kyle Rayner/Hal Jordan always seemed so cool to me so I'm glad to have found out this exists.

Yup. I would've preferred Parallax Hal and 90s Kyle though.

I don't own that figure so can't say 100% but I usually just use the promo images supplied by the manufacturer if I can. I found that image on Mattel's website. In retrospect it does look more like a 6" DCUC figure. Especially with that ab-crunch. It looks like this is the actual figure.

yep that's the right one

Are there any inexpensive white capes out there? I'm kicking around an idea of reworking Injustice Black Adam into a New 52-ish Shazam since DCC never made one. I'd rather not have to paint one white because that's kind of a bitch and a half.

And the Infinite Heroes Shazam cape isn't quite what I'm looking for.

A Thor cape, or maybe a Grim Reaper cape. Still have to be painted but I don't usually have any problem.

Maybe you could get yourself a white cast of Captain Phasma's cape? I sometimes see him wearing his cape off to the side.

snake5289 07-20-2016 10:12 AM

^^That's not a bad idea.

Reaper's cape was my first idea but I've had horrible luck painting things white and with it being that darkish purple color I didn't think it'd work out too well. I'm still kind of considering it though because it's an awesome looking cape and he's pretty damn cheap on eBay.

I agree with MUFan on this. You could get the Phasma or Reaper cape and ask Vort to cast it in white.

MUfan97 07-20-2016 09:44 PM

We may not be getting official DC 3 3/4 inch figures this SDCC, but hey, we have a scale cheat: KING SHARK!

http://news.toyark.com/wp-content/up...iverse-005.jpg

Also, those Jay and Zoom figures are just contributing to my ever-developing theory that those first Arrow and Flash figures were originally meant to be 3 3/4 inch figures.

snake5289 07-20-2016 09:58 PM

Oh I'm almost 100% certain that at least initially all the 6 inch Multiverse figures were originally supposed to be 3.75 but of course in the end we get the shaft.

Are you using water or oil base paint? I use water and multiple coats.

Just regular acrylic paint I guess. I'll have to check.

I wouldn't include the Batman v. Superman stuff due to them probably being Movie Masters swept into this line after it went 6 inch. I mainly just got that hunch due to not having ab crunches(which quickly became common again with later designed figures), and the face sculpts looking like less effort was put in(which seems to be what Mattel always does for the smaller lines).
