I was so sick to my stomach, then luckily I won a auction and got him for 125. And, I sometimes think "Grail" is used to often to make other figures seem inferior. Grails to me are figures that you actually like and want, for example, my DC Universe Wonder Woman is one of my "Grails" that I absolutely love. Some people my not think she is a "grail" but she is to me...But like I said, sometimes you have to pull the trigger, because sometimes when you hesitate, the price on that figure you want increases or doubles or triples in price right before you very eyes...Good look on hunting for that figure. Another thing, I usually write down my "grails" on a sheet of paper, and hope to get them some day, and usually every tax return, I try to at least get one "grail" after paying some bills and credit cards.

I dig your thinking, arker. You're quite right and when I determine I want some auction, I usually win and don't look back. You're also right about the term having different meanings for different folk. A grail could be a remake you've been anticipating, just as Surfer was for me. Dude, you are one of a handful of posters here that is always upbeat and friendly. Thanks! Lol

I like how we're using the term "arker" like we're in some kind of gang.

Arkers for life!

I know that a lot of you are like me where you do not have any Red Skulls around you on sale. If anyone can get any of theses $5 Skulls I have a few trade items as well as paypal. Let me know if you can help.

People here have also talked up on this hobby being an addiction. Haha!

While I don't have Pitt. I do have a Dragon Man. My local mall had an independently owned toy store after kaybee closed. I went in one night before a movie and scored Dragon Man for $25. It was right when he came out and I don't think people knew what that would turn into. I am very lucky there. If I ever sell my collection, I am banking on getting some good money for him. But keep looking, maybe you'll find one some day.

I picked up the Zola 2-pack last night from my local comic shop. Zola’s coloring is top notch, but Hydra Cap feels a little bland. I have the old version of Zola, and the alternate parts, but the new version might have to replace those on my Hydra shelf.

Archangel 01-26-2019 09:55 AM

Is Gambit the double in the Caliban wave?

How is it, sculpt-wise? I'm planning on buying that Cap when they inevitably repaint him into Civil Warrior.

Aye, that he is

He needed to be packed with a set of hands to hold weapons. One closed fist and and a blasting Ironman hand kind of limits him. I like the paint on the legs, but the gold plastic used pops too much. It could use a wash to dull the shine and give him a more sinister look.

I haven’t tried much posing with him yet, hopefully I can work him in with my Hydra figures tonight.

I’ve paid $300-$400 for several individual figs, I just can’t justify that in this situation. If they (PITT and Dragon Man) were a bit more rare, maybe. The only catch is the longer I wait the more I‘m ultimately going to have to pay. But, thanks, I know I’ll eventually get them.

Gotta pic of Morph???

And is Mystique actually out there yet or is your comment just based on pics?

I was under the impression he will be packaged with Black Bolt. Thoughts?

Am I trippin' or was that Hydra set an EE exclusive when it was announced??

I'm with you man. The market doesn't bear out the high prices forever unless we're taking total absolute rocket firing Boba Fett rarity. When you're talking obscure Marvel or Image characters, that pool of interested buyers is ever dwindling as they excel in years and their interest dwindles. Eventually when the scumbags asking $400 BIN ebay for old TB Legends have to relist their wares for the zillionth time they will figure that out. Or maybe Hasbro will do an honest to goodness awesome do-over of a character and then the older version value will plummet. Or whatever. Honestly, I think you're a little crazy for paying that much for MLs as is but I am hardly the person to judge you. I think it was you who said earlier that a few hundred is a drop in the bucket compared to what most of us spend on figures in a year or maybe even a month (well, that was the gist of the comment anyway but I don't feel like going back and looking for it). That is the damn truth brotha. Plastic addiction is a pain sometimes, but it's better than meth. You can't re-sell the meth after you burn it heheh.

Since we are on the subject of Hasbro, what do you think are their best BAF's?

My top 15, so far...Lol

1. Terrax
2. Sasquatch
3. Lizard
4. Apocalypse
5. Iron Monger
6. Hulk Buster
7. Kingpin
8. Sauron
9. Red Onslaught
10. Ronin
11. Rhino
12. Fin Fang Foom
13. Blob
14. Hit Monkey
15. Annihilus

Note: This list could change as the wind blows..Lol... Hasbro has really stepped up their game, maybe they can gives of a remix the Dragonman, because, I like others, would love to add him to my collection.

I think they will be released together too. But it's also possible that Lockjaw could end up scrapped without a word being said like the BvS Batmobile.

I guess I'm just frustrated with Mezco lately. I love their figures but it seems like everything keeps getting pushed back or turned into an exclusive without a word being said on their part.

Best Hasbro BAF for me, there’s a lot of good ones but only a few really stand out

1. Sauron
2. Hulkbuster
3. Kingpin
4. Terrax
5. Apocalypse
6. Juggernaut (he’d be higher if his fists weren’t both just closed up hunks of plastic flesh—alternate hands would really have helped here.
And lesser so:
7. Brood Queen
8. Man Thing
9. Gladiator Hulk
10. “Nemesis”

That said I’m pretty sure M’baku will make that list when I get him in hand. Also I think blob was technically really well done and I get the appreciation for him, but he’d too well done IMO. He’s gross, I just couldn’t even finish him and I’ve always tried to get all the X-men stuff I can.

Also while I think the smaller figures like Jubilee and mantis are great, they just don’t have that wow factor the larger figures do.

Don't think Mystique has been released just yet. Believe me, I'm on the lookout! I keep seeing a late February released date mentioned across the other boards and sites.

As for his comment, there are a few pics floating around with the Lilandra head photoshopped onto the Silver Sable body. Definitely needs some fine tuning and a few proper accessories, but I think it will work.

Made me laugh...yeah, that was me. But for real, tho'...if you're burning meth, then there really ain't much left and you’ve successfully located the bottom. Obviously, there are far worse monkeys to have on one's back than a toy habit...but is stating that our chosen poison is better than being addicted to crack really that much of an improvement? "Well, shit, a least I'm not a basehead!" Lol ;)

There's something so awesome about a figure with multiple chins, man boobs, fat rolls and visible cellulite.

I vaguely remember this incarnation of the team. They look good together.

As for collecting being an addiction, I've never felt that way but there was a period last year that it was starting to stress me out. I was buying too much over a short period of time and it was starting to hurt me financially. I decided the problem was ebay. Constantly being alerted whenever something on my wishlist was available was getting too expensive. Now I limit my ebay purchases to when they have promotions.

I wanted to add one more thing to the conversation about Hasbro giving us heads (no I'm not going to rephrase that) as accessories. It just feels like the company is telling us this is all you're ever going to see from this character so be thankful we even put in this much effort. Personally, I'd rather they had not given the head (again, not going to rephrase) and held onto hope that the character would eventually be made.

Blue Marvel, I read your response to my last post. You made excellent points on the financial reasons why we're just getting heads for some of these characters. I won't dispute anything you said. As you can see in the previous paragraph, I'm just expressing how this practice makes me feel.
