I ask because I saw this kitbash custom on eBay, and it's pretty damn simple and ingenious. In fact...I can almost see Hasbro doing the same exact thing. I've been running into a bunch of Typhoid Mary and Daggers just pegwarming at my local haunts, so I'm strongly considering just giving it a shot...(though I might change a piece here or there...)

That's a great bash. a few minor easy changes and it would be perfect. I'm holding out hope for the black costume but that's pretty unlikely. I think i heard she was going to be a Walgreens exclusive.

Yeah...I would probably swap the head itself and I'm not a huge fan of the Dagger face sculpt (I'm thinking Vintage Widow with a different hairpiece maybe,) and definitely the shoes in favor of some heels, although I think the ones that came with Black Cat are a little off colored from Dagger's legs, as her body is more of a pearlescent white.

I actually like how the slit in Dagger's torso plays out here. Not identical to the comic, but it's very White Queen when you pair it with that corset top from Mary.

Walgreens I assume?

For those of you who preordered the Kingpin wave off of Amazon, did you guys get an email indicating they would be delayed? I never received one from Amazon, and upon checking my order, it shows it as arriving on the 31st of January...which is tomorrow. It's throwing me off, because I have yet to be charged for them, and it shows as it not being shipped...so there's no way those are arriving tomorrow.

YAAAAAAAS! I mean, I know it was rumored but this is the first data I've actually see on it. and I know it could change and she could get cancelled. Again. Please don't get cancelled. She's been in my top 10 new figure wants for years and that was before the 2012 one got cancelled.

Yes, it's Walgreen's.

As for Amazon, I pre-ordered Silver Sable with an eventual arrival date of January 28th. Tracking throughout told me that they had never shipped, yet were still on track for delivery. On the 28th, around lunch, I got an e-mail informing me that it was delayed. Canceled my order, and went the Ebay route.

YES, just really glad to have some kind of recent validation! Even if it's just words on screens!

In short, Herc is very cool.

Not so short:

Brand new sculpt that features hyper-vascular torso/arms. The veins are exaggerated and popping, a consistent feature from fists to delts. The fig sports the largest arms of all the plus size male molds (so far, Beast looks like he will be larger). Pictures lead me to believe that the arms might be a part borrowed from Omega Red. But on direct comparison, Herc’s arms are of a different mold and noticeably larger than Red’s limbs. The Herc fig also has this smart shoulder design that allows for greater range. The top of the delt/shoulder and the traps are one mold creating a much more natural looking musculature and improved function (IMO). The leather pants he’s wearing are actually tooled to look like real leather. There’s a shin/boot swivel, worn looking knee pads, and the boots with straps are cool (however, annoyingly painted the same color as part of the pants making it hard to distinguish where one ends and the other begins). His ‘Herc Harness’ is also adorned with a completely tooled and badass “Lion of Olympus” belt buckle. The harness looks good enough and holds his mace and sword well enough. Speaking of the weapons, they’re accurate to his recent and short-lived book appearance, as can be said for the details of the entire outfit. The paints are strong with minute details like body hair. The head sculpt is one of the best ever. Really. A tooled beard along with a tooled head guard, all topped off with the perfect sardonic (eyebrow raised) expression on Herc’s face. They really went the extra mile.

The only drawback…he’s smallish. I stood Herc next to Ares and not only is the God of War taller, but his arms are freakishly larger. Additionally, the harness rides up. I thought about gluing the codpiece (a word I never thought I’d use), but that feels like a bad idea for a number of reasons. But, none of this is a deal breaker. Herc is my early dark horse for fav fig of 2019.

Edit: forgot to add that Herc's wrist guards are also pretty cool. Gold plastic was used instead of paint. For further clarification, I was suggesting gluing the codpiece portion of the harness to the pelvis of the fig. Which sounds worse each time I mention it, but it would prevent the harness from riding too high. One last mini gripe (3 minor flaws total), Herc skips leg day apparently. The legs are well done, but comically skinny. A top heavy fig that tracks a little small for Herc. Most won't even notice the proportional things I mention or care about the aesthetics.

Double Edit: I foresee many pics on the web featuring Herc ‘body builder’ poses. Which fits his personality, but Herc is most notably a warrior and adventurer of legend. A demigod.

hope they have that new Cosmic Ghost Rider (punisher) in the works for a fig for maybe next year.
In fact if i don't get him, Speedball, Strong guy, Firestar, Blue Marvel, and Adriana Chechik figures soon... i'm gonna be pissed

Forgot about the Super Skrull & I think the Infamous Iron Man (Doctor Doom) was also found in the Walgreen's system awhile back. Wonder what happened with those two, with the Walgreen's exclusives supposedly taking on the X-Men. Super Skrull seems like it would have been a perfect fit with Captain Marvel's space/cosmic theme.

Good point, I was thinking the same thing. Maybe that's the plan. I just doubt that they'd be able to keep that good of a secret were it to all of a sudden materialize alongside the film. We'd have seen it by now if it was finished. Right?

Also, would that be the first of the leaked Walgreens-inventory figs to be inaccurate? I haven’t kept count…

Bo Ttef 01-30-2019 10:18 PM

Cosmic Ghost River would be awesome! Hopefully in GotG they tone him down a bit, he was a little too Deadpool in the mini.

Hey guys, still looking for some Kree Sentury BAF parts as well as Monkeyman's arm. Can outright buy or do trades for other BAF parts.

Has anyone spotted the Kingpin wave in any stores other than Gamestop? I refuse to pay Gamestops price gouging prices.

I got an email saying they would be delayed. I ended up finding puma in Black cat at my local game stop so I canceled my pre-order on them. Interestingly enough, my six arm Spider-man is said to be arriving tomorrow. No word on when night thrasher will be arriving. I didn’t have a chance to pre-order red goblin or the new black costume Spider-man so I’m looking for them in the wild as well.

Archangel 01-31-2019 07:33 AM

$13.88 cost 30% mark-up.

I snagged all the hard to find ones at GameStop early on. I’m not sure how often they get new stock, but they still may have something.

I keep checking. Between the area where I work and where I live there are about 3 Targets, 4 Gamestops, 1 Thinkgeek, a Walmart and a handful of Walgreens. I can't go looking everyday, but when I can get out, I try to hit as many as I can. Fingers crossed I find everything soon. I regret not buying the whole set off Big Bad, I normally do. I'll pre-order the entire X-Men wave. I don't want to miss anyone there.

Yeah, I think the problem might be less that Herc is too small, and more that they put characters like Ares and Bulldozer on WAY too big of bodies.
