anyone interested in figs from the captain marvel wave??
i just happened across an entire wave.. i'll know by today if i want to build a third sentry.. if not, they'll be MIB.. if so...MIB sans BAF piece. DM me if interested. |
Oh my god, I hate Amazon so hard right now. They shipped my figures out on Thursday, but despite me having Prime with 2nd day delivery, it said my figures wouldn't be delivered until Monday. So on Friday night I asked them if there was a reason it wouldn't arrive on Saturday. The lady says she has now changed my delivery date to Saturday and guaranteed they would arrive.
Yesterday comes and goes, no package. I look at the tracking number last night and it shows they were rescheduled for TUESDAY. WTF? Thus, I yet again contact their customer service people, show them the transcript from my conversation with the lady the night before where she guaranteed it would be delivered today (well yesterday to us now) and the dude tells me she should not have done that and he can't change the delivery date at all as it is locked in to that Tuesday delivery date. They won't even let me go to the actual warehouse that is about an hour away despite it already being there. -_- Then the dude offers to cancel the order and place a knew one, but the new one wouldn't arrive until Wed at the earliest. No seriously, WHAT THE FUCK!? How can they be so incompetent yet charge $120 a year for such a shit show service? |

Kinda glad though that they did. Despite my really wanting the wave, it's not eating at me the way it used to. NECA has been taking all of my money (as well as my Tylenol and my sanity) these past few weeks. |
I'm not crazy about the head sculpt for the new Black Cat. I appreciate them trying to add some personality beyond the stoic expressions we usually get, but that sh*t-eating grin just doesn't do it for me. So, I decided to try my hand at a custom.
TRU exclusive Jean/Phoenix extra head with Sue Storm hair. Hand-painted mask. The lines of the mask could be cleaned up a bit. Maybe I'll wait until the DTs pass before I try and paint next time. http://www.toyark.com/members/tierne...r-4-a-4108.jpghttp://www.toyark.com/members/tierne...ender-4107.jpg |

Last time I'm pre-ordering from them. Again...I'm not all that mad about it though, considering NECA dropped a ton of releases in the last month and a half that I'm trying to catch up on. This was a good Spidey wave, but I got the figure I wanted most loose anyways (Black Cat) so it's not like it's gnawing at me. I've been getting really lucky at Walgreens lately, and my work puts me at several different ones all over southern Arizona everyday, so I'm sure I'll be able to get them piece by piece when they drop. I've already found entire waves of Captain Marvel and Black Panther waves at various stores as is. |
Anyone looking for the Black Panther movie wave, walmart has it up and most of the figures are under retail.

How do you feel about the Kree Sentry? My opinion at first was that he was not great because of the online pics that I had see of the BAF, but know that I figure in hand and able to play and pose it, I really like the figure now, and would not mind getting another one for the collection. Note: Sometimes I feel that we as critics and reviews of Marvel Legends, especially, are to hard on Hasbro. Sometimes I think that we have to see the finish product in hand first, before passing judgement. Yes, they to have their issues, like all companies do, but for the price and quality, I think Hasbro is doing a better than average job. |

I feel like Kree Sentury can be redone to be MvC Sentinel.

They need to bring back the Moonstone body!
I finally found the CM series at Walgreens. The basic Carol has her neck painted blue all the way, which is only accurate to the helmeted head. I'll primarily use the unhelmeted head, so maybe I'll repaint the neck flesh. |

Honestly, I'm tempted to tell them to cancel the order and then I'll just buy it from BBTS when they get it instock. |

Speaking of body molds...I ran into the Rio Durant figure from Solo for Black Series the other night. Makes me wonder what six arm Spidey could have been if Hasbro put some more effort into it, because Rio looked incredible, and it's a smaller and infinitely more detailed figure than Spidey was. |

I feel Most heroes would be extremely athletic so their bodies would represent that. I'm NOT athletic and I assure you my body represents that fact! Actually I would like to see three or four different bucks for the ladies. |

Thicker bodies don't necessarily mean more athletic. Characters that are suppose to be physical powerhouses, it makes sense since they use their muscles a lot more. For characters like Scarlet Witch or Jean Grey it just doesn't make sense. And characters that are supposed to be ninja-like like Psylocke or Elektra benefit from a leaner, more nimble physique. I mean there's nothing inherently wrong with it, but even real female athletes aren't exactly shaped how most comic book heroines are. Sidenote, I'm not exactly sure why people love the idea of the Moonstone body for Psylocke, it puts her in the same weight class as Captain Marvel and Rogue to me, and that just feels wrong. It'd be like if Daredevil and Thor shared a body. |
It's one of those things that varies wildly by artist, although having the same body type doesn't automatically mean the same level of physical power in a superhero world. For instance, Supergirl is generally depicted as petite despite her extreme strength. Of course the double standard is that a superheroine has to have superstrength before artists even consider giving them significant muscular definition, yet the average superhero will automatically be buff regardless of their abilities.

Though the entire time my goal was to dry brush it to give it a worn metal look, which i finished over the weekend. I actually have parts now to build 3 (except for one missing left arm. Once i have two built, i decided if i want the third. so in short..yeah..i really like this thing now. I've actually did a wash on the silver metal parts as well and may try to make it rusty and muddy (which i've never attempted) However, once exception is Titus. He looked shitty to me prior to, and after owning. He is my all time worst BAF that i own. |
