So of course they "sold out" the ML XF pack today and my boy down there got royally fucking screwed after waiting in line all morning fucking long after being told conflicting info from Hasbro reps and Con dorks. Now no one can get the pack thanks to all the stupid bullshit.

Con? Yeah literally. The whole operation is a CON.

Actually, they restocked later in the afternoon for those who had tickets for after 2pm. I spoke with the staff person watching the line and she said the problem was that there was a lot of difficulty unloading the truck and getting everything to the floor in a timely manner. The exhibit floor was packed so getting shit to and fro was a bitch after depleting the first few unloads.

Definitely need a more streamlined method of ensuring people who made all that effort in lines get what the intended to so it wasn't time wasted.

I'm just bummed I didn't stake my buddy with money for the 4" Green Lantern set.

Yeah I don't know what the hell that whole raffle BS was all about on Thursday but Symbiote had no problems walking straight up to the store, no line, and got one for both of us. That play set with all the future releases looked sick!

Pros From Dover 07-13-2012 06:48 PM

No shit, huh?!

I'd buy that damn thing just by itself!

You hear if they are going to be available on the internet sometime next week like Hasbro does with their stuff?

Yeah, he told me the same. He was later given a "now or never" ticket, whatever that means. He came back for the restock and that sold out, of course.

Finally he was given a "priority HTS line" ticket for tomorrow... which means he doesn't have to stand in line to get a ticket to stand in the HTS line. Does that make sense? -___-

So yeah... another roll of the dice tomorrow.

Yeah theres a lot of that golden ticket last chance shit going on for those who got screwed over from what I've heard on the floor. It still sucks that it has to get down to that point though. I was by the line around 3pm today looking to see what the distribution was like and they had about 30+ packs in the front alone and more being unpacked in the back so the restock was plentiful today after 2:30. Don't know what time your boy made it back to the line.

I realize SDCC is chaotic, but unless an item is a limited run, of say 500,1000, etc, then you should bring a fuck ton with you, it only makes sense. More you bring the more you can sell, the ones you don't sell, put on your website for ppl who can't get to CC and will buy them, in some cases more demand after CC then during, as you get die hard collectors, customizers, scalpers/resallers, stores all wanting to get some. Hasbro smarten up, I need me that SDCC 3pack, the rest is so so as far as MU, hellicarrier is cool, but too much $$ and too big for my spot, the rest not really interested in except for the single carded figures coming up for MU and ML.

dang it. I really like that guy. I'm so damn picky about my ML figures, I've gotta have him. However, must buy BAf apoc and giant man first. Also whats up with apocalypse being to expensive lately. I missed out on a 50 dollar one. And hes like 80 now

And you think from a business standpoint it would sense to make plenty then sell them off to shops other retailers if they don't all move online. The problem is the word exclusive. I know some people get upset that it gets offered online after Con ends. They still want to make attendees feel they have to buy it there. Maybe save the overstock for next year or other conventions like some companies do. Either way making more is better for us collectors.

Dude, have you ever been to SDCC? Have you witnessed the madness that has almost resulted in this event moving to Las Vegas in favor of a larger venue? You can't possibly fathom how difficult it is to move that much hardware into an area with limited space on the exhibit floor amongst that crowd. Even if you start before the floor opens there is only so much storage space (which they fill btw) to keep what the want to sell. Once that gets depleted then they can restock.

Restocking in that crowd is a monumental task. This is when people who were already in line get assed out. Not everyone is buying the same products. Some sell out quicker than others. It really isn't as easy a task as everyone who isn't there imagines it to be. It just isn't.

Congrats! One day, I'm hoping to own someday. I wish Hasbro would re-release him in single pack.

Ive never been but this is what I imagine. It seems like CC is more of a toy collector civil war that the fun Disneylandesque scene that you see on tv and magazines. It's gotta suck waiting for the chance to go only to spend 75% of your time waiting in lines for something you may or may not get. I am soooo glad I found this site. You guys have helped me make a few decisions that I was on the fence about. CC has moved down on my bucket list big time. Im about 98% sure my wife ain't letting me go to that first one without her and she's ready to scrap when somebody bumps her in the mall. I can only imagine what our bail would be set at if I planted her in one of those CC venues.

Toy collectors make up a very small percentage of comic con actually. The real madness is the lines for panels which line every wall and snake around damn near every building all the way outside like a damn human small intestine.

Comic Con, for those who have never been but are/were interested in going one day, is about picking which lines you want to spend your day in just to experience that certain panel or acquire that certain exclusive with the complete understanding that you may not actually get into that panel if you weren't already camped out in the line a day or two ahead or get that collectible for the reasons I've already stated.

There are no guarantees beyond standing in long lines, walking the floor amongst an enormous crowd and enjoying the scenery of beautiful downtown gaslamp district outside. There are at least some wonderful exhibits to see on the floor in person...the majority of which you all see pictures of while some of us are still in lines, lol.

With that said and I too live in San Diego...The reps there have one thing in mind is to ensure they have enough stock to last the convention. That why there was a 4 item limit. Aaaaand to limit those 1% scalpers that are going to put the exclusives on ebay for crazy prices. They could do a better job but just like Greenskar said it almost impossible with the amount of people there. Whenever the expansion is completed here in San Diego I think it would solve some of the BS that goes with getting exclusives or getting screwed because they "ran" out of product which just isn't true. Proven case was this year on what happen to my friend.

Black Dynomite 07-14-2012 09:55 AM

I just read it. Congrats bro. That set is all I want too and I aint paying $100+ for it. I'll have to live vicariously through Arker pics. Funny shit, I literally just talked to my wife about this topic 2 minutes ago. She said fuck that, just go by yourself and take the price of my ticket to by stuff. Feelin right Hannibal Smith right now. Love it when a plan comes together lol...

SH0CKWAVE 07-14-2012 12:09 PM

There is justice in the world, sometimes.

My boy down at Con finally scored us x2 ML XF packs. Closure to the nightmare. Karma prevails.

behindthemask 07-14-2012 12:21 PM

I just think if it's going to be an exclusive then make enough to cover atendee demand and if there's not enough on hand, do a preorder system where you give your $$ and info and they mail a set directly to you. I think hasbro can make a lot more firneds and $$ that way, IMO.
