Sorry, I thought the pics would carry over. The Target and Walmart exclusives.

Remember when Gwenpool was flying off the pegs?

Yeah me either

Another note though, found a Grey Gargoyle at Walgreens, anyone need the Sentry head?

Like the people who hate Gwen without knowing a damn thing about her need any more fuel.

Making her the double-pack of the wave probably wasn't the wisest call. Shoulda made it Noir.

Silver Sable is really cool except her head is a tad big.

The way is definitely bleh. I'm selling off Red Goblin and Symbiote Spider-Man. I might also get rid of the Black Cat.

Night Thrasher is cool too. As is Puma, though, I can't remember where I know him from. I don't think it was a Spider-Man comic.

Anyway, Hasbro knew that the only way to sell such a shit wave was to make the BAF be one of the most requested villains. Of course, it's also dirty because we need two Kingpins in order to do Shadow King.

I'd say Mysterio should've been the double-pack in that wave. He was easily the hardest to find (in my experience and others') and he was the most price-gouged online. Noir wouldn't have been a bad choice as he was also hard to find but between the two Mysterio would have benefited more from the additional volume.

I agree, but looking at how Hasbro usually double-packs a popular (read: leading) character, I suggested Noir due to him being the more well-known of the two Spidey variations from the wave at that time (and, really, even moreso now)

You're not wrong that they usually double pack the main spider character of the wave, this is why I was pleased and surprised that Doc Ock was the double-pack figure of his wave.

SymbiSpidey 02-08-2019 03:53 AM

The Kingpin wave just doesn't have a good balance to it.

One half of the wave is 90s characters, the other half is made up of super modern one-off designs. If you don't care for either of those two, then the wave is pretty much a dud.

On top of that, what could have been the most exciting figure of the wave turned out to be so sloppily-executed and poorly thought out that people don't even want it (and don't even have to buy it to get the BAF).

I think the Sandman wave has the overall best mixture character-selection wise of any of the Spider-Man waves.

Spyne98 02-08-2019 05:11 AM

I’m beginning to wonder what Hasbro would have done with these Spider-Man waves if it wasn’t for Spider Verse. We get, what, 2 Spider-Man versions per wave. Even if you stuck to the main Marvel 616 Universe, were there really that many costumes? I feel like they are running out of Spider variations from the Spider Verse. I would really dig it if they made a bag head Spider-Man. I also wouldn’t mind if they cut it down to 1 Spider-Man per wave.

So, here in the UK we got some imports of Mystique and Minerva. Thou they are already sold out. But I managed to get one of each. And voila, three "new" females.
Mystique is great, thou she needs a bath to straighten her legs and push her trigger finger in. Minerva is great, but it would be amazing if they release a 70's Ms Marvel with alt head odd comics Minerva (pretty sure a repainted Dazzler head would do).
For my Lilandra I just put an Odin cape and spear and it's the closest we are getting for now. Folks are speculating that a Lilandra body would follow, but I pretty much doubt it.
Seeing Lilandra makes me want more Imperial Guard members. My choice would be:
Oracle, Hussar, Fang, Warstar and maybe Manta. And of course Deathbird, thou not sure if I prefer classic or modern version.

After hearing Dani Moonstar is a possible upcoming exclusive I would love her to come with a Karma head. We need to finish the New Mutants.

Well theres always spiderman unlimited, armored spidey, new ben reilly scarlett spider, iron spider, insect spiderman, dopplerganger, and that fat guy who dressed in red n blue spiderman outfit but had his own homemade doc ock tentacles harness. Plus theres future foundation spider, the black suited future foundation spidey, kaine ( first appearance ) and big time spidery. ( im not counting previous versions of some of the costumes mentioned. )

Any suggestions on a desk and chair for set for Kingpin? It needs to look like stylish enough for Fisk and large enough to accommodate him.

Don't forget a new Spider-Ham based off of the movie with the articulation he should have had the first time around!

What body did you use with Lilandra? That looks really good! Count me in for more Imperial Guards too. I'd love to see a Warstar!

Wow, yeah you're right. Honestly, make a Spider-Man and his amazing friends 3 pack so we can finally get a Firestar and (and maybe a decent classic Iceman too)

@Spyne98

It is of course the Silver Sable body without all the straps. I thought of painting it, but Sable and Lilandra won't be sharing a shelf. The cape I boiled and reshaped and glue the larches with Mitre superglue. The cape did regain some of its shape, but I like it flared up. Just looks more regal than let's say, Black Knight's.

Stores would have to stock the wave in the first place in order for whoever the double pack figure is to be effective.

Half of it isn't 90s characters, only Night Thrasher is a 90s character. Silver Sable and Puma are from the mid-80s. Heck, technically Night Thrasher is an 80s character too since he premiered in Dec of 89.

Also, 6 armed Spidey is from 71.

What I think you mean is that it should have been a balance of classic characters/designs with modern ones.

I agree with that. Where is my Classic Vulture? All they have to do is reuse Darkhawk and they are good.

Speaking of 90s characters, where is Sleepwalker? Like come on Hasbro, I have been waiting 18 years to get a toy of him. Now is the time.

I think they already almost made Fang...

Shut up! That's an amazing find. I have the whole wave on preorder at BBTS, because it's such a love letter to when I was actually following DC comics heavily (plus, my wife collects all things Flash, especially any and all versions of Wally West). You'll have to give a head's up on how Kyle turned out in-hand!

The Kyle fig is pretty awesome. I still like my DCUC Arkillo wave Rayner (2nd costume?), but this new one actually nailed his original design with added sculpted parts for the armored forearms and lower legs. The sneer is a little weird for his personality, but I can deal with a bit of oddness if it means an emotive face (it could work as a fierce concentration of ‘willpower’ or a look of constipation). The whole Lobo wave is fantastic, by the way. My SDCC Lobo is still a GREAT fig, but the new fig is very nice. Your wife will like the new Flash fig…Bats Beyond is my sleeper pick of the wave.
