One thing you guys have to understand about going to the con is it is fucking MAYHEM! Every minute of every day there are 3 things to do at once and only one of you to do them. On top of that you have to know how to get tickets just to get in line for Hasbro, just to be able to purchase these exclusives. Then being on your feet all day from before 7 am to after 7 pm, every little thing in that back pack starts adding up. So it's really hard to get mad at anyone for not grabbing extras. And it's not like your are parked outside and can make pit stops. You have to take the shuttle or trolley back to your hotel if you find time to run back to the hotel. But anyways that ends my rant.

flipwilson 06-05-2012 10:18 AM

I usually have great luck getting exclusives, so hopefully this luck holds true.

shortysben 06-05-2012 10:19 AM

That set is fantastic...for those who stopped buying mu....more for us!

You have to get tickets to get in line to purchase the Hasbro exclusives?

yeah i recall that being the reason my cousin who was only able to go for an hour wasn't able to get us any sentinels. before last year, i believe it was a first come first served basis. NYCC i was able to just hop into the line without needing tickets. basically SDCC, from the stories i've heard, is exactly the geek fueled crowded nightmare FrankCastle says it is.

FrankCastle 06-05-2012 10:30 AM

Yeah you have to line up before the convention starts and there is a line where they pass out tickets. Sometimes on Sunday if they still have plenty of stock they will allow you to stand in line with out a ticket. But the Hasbro booth is in the middle of the Exhibit hall and the line to get tickets is nowhere near the booth. Lessons learned last year that I won't take for granted this year ;)

FrankCastle 06-05-2012 10:30 AM

And how is NYCC? I am thinking of going next year

MrChips 06-05-2012 10:32 AM

Despite the Geek Mayhem, I've always wanted to go to SDCC it's one of the things on my bucket list :) and that set is wicked, I want one.

FrankCastle 06-05-2012 10:34 AM

Don't get me wrong the geek mayhem is awesome.. there is just very little time to decide on everything. And there are tons of happenings not announced and it's just hard to blance it all

it was pretty cool from what little of it i went to. was only able to go for an afternoon due to timing but it was the saturday of the marvel panel. was cool to see david vonner talking shop so hearing about him being let go not too long after that was pretty surprising. not as crowded as SDCC i imagine but still pretty good as far as cons go. in fact, less crowd is good. came away with a decent MU and misc haul. right after, we ran to midtown comics to get some of the newer figures that ended up being cheaper than at the con.

MrChips 06-05-2012 10:45 AM

I know what you mean, you'd really have to prioritize the things you want to do then :)

What happens if you have one of those exclusives passes?

This is 110% true. Also, hasbro limits how many you can buy. Its a pain in a$$.

I still think they will have fing fang foom. The masterworks series usually shows up at sdcc first. the huge blister card is a staple for sdcc collector exclusives.

jveron 06-05-2012 11:00 AM

GOTTA HAVE THAT ZEMO. ugh. that whole set looks ace.

LORD MARVEL 06-05-2012 11:02 AM

It will be mine

What exclusive passes? You stand in line to get a ticket. You then take that ticket to the exhibit floor to the Hasbro booth. You then stand in another line and then once you finally make it to the counter they ask what you want and if it is still available. They alot figures to a certain number each day that way people that go on a sunday have the same chance to get what they want as a person who went on a Thursday

Greenskar 06-05-2012 11:10 AM

Frank Castle hit the nail on the head. This isn't like going to a TRU for a fellow arker and picking up the figure he can't find in his area. The Hasbro line is just plain ridiculous. So much so that i was willing to pay an extra 10 bucks from a vendor there for the wwII cap and ages of thunder cap a few years back rather than waste 3 hours out of my con time. Walking around gaslamp with a full bag of toys afterwards or on the trolley sucks balls too.

Plus, now my gf likes to go. She has the attention span of a chipmunk and can't stand being in one place for too long, lol. No way I make that line this year.

Trust me when I say HTS is the way to go. But for those of you intent on getting in line, have something you can watch a movie on or a book or something. That line will destroy your patience. Assuming you can find tickets to get in the actual line which is a chore in and of itself.

NoodleChow 06-05-2012 11:23 AM

anyone else buy from HTS the previous years and can confirm if it's the Monday or Tuesday after the con that they go up? only ordered last year and my confirmation email was sent the Tuesday after. i feel like previous years used to be Monday.

Snailbot 06-05-2012 11:23 AM

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

There's no way they can release this only to SDCC peoples! There's gotta be another release.

Again:
Instant No Button! Star Wars funnies FTW!

The early passes I think is what it is to get in? My friend has one of those.

Ya I'll most likely at the end of the day just get it on HTS, when I got CH it wasn't a big issue. And on that note, for all those that are going, enjoy yourselves first is how I always like to tell my wife, and don't buy ish for folks who ask unless you really have the time.

Like I said prior post, CH was posted, you just have to check is all, and he was back in stock a couple of other times as well. So hopefully Hasbro will have a lot of inventory of the SDCC figures this year coming.

Tarquinius 06-05-2012 11:30 AM

There is usually good chances that most SDCC exclusives see retail exposure:

WW2 cap- SDCC exclusive, Cap America Release
Ages of Thunder Thor- SDCC exclusive, MU release

I don't think they'd jip us this badly

Yea, i'm guessing Radioactive will be translucent for SDCC and solid for regular retail.

NoodleChow 06-05-2012 11:38 AM

ah yeah, last year i remember a group of us waiting monday morning only for things to go up tuesday. gonna be checking the hell out of the boards and refreshing the site. there were some chances after that but seemed more blink and you miss em opportunities. prime time is right when the post em up and i'm ok with looking at a connection error page for a few hours to get something that may or may not get a release. hopefully they do though. i mean zemo alone would be quite awesome as a single.

hmm from what i can tell, radioactive man is on a piledriver body, zemo prolly on dr strange type with kang hands, and tiger shark is on the cable body. wish radioactive man was on the hercules body for the stockiness but i'm ok with this.

Nexodusrex 06-05-2012 11:44 AM

great. well I am going to try to have my credit cards paid off, cause I will be needing them if I dont successfully get this when its on HTS

There's not any exclusive passes to get in early unless you are a vendor or with one of the production companies. Even press gets treated like a regular con-goer. Are you referring to preview night maybe? Preview night is on Wednesday and limited passes are sold. They sold out at the convention before I could get any and I wasn't going to risk have my 4-day passes canceled this year for trying the online registration.
