How does one even compare the two??
|
As far as the cartoons, I enjoyed Filmation's Ghostbusters just as much as I did The Real Ghostbusters.
As for toys, the TRG toyline was fantastic and lots of fun. Crashing the Ecto-1 out of the doors to the Firehouse was amazing fun. I didn't know there were toys for Filmation's Ghostbusters at the time, but I definitely would have had some if I had known about them. They actually don't look that bad. Cool facts: TRG featured Frank Welker (Ray, Slimer, etc.) and FG featured Peter Cullen (Eddie, Brat-a-Rat, etc.). |
Who you gonna call!?!

So much hate for Filmation's Ghostbusters??!!!!! Damn! I actually really liked that show and the toys a lot when I was a kid. The Ghost Command playset is still one of my holy grails to this day.
That being said, the Real Ghostbusters was easily one of the greatest properties of the 80's. The cartoon was excellent and still holds up for the most part today. But we're strictly talking toys here, and RGB easily wins that competition. The figures were awesome and all the different ghosts were great. Plus, this line produced one of the greatest playsets of all time; the firehouse. RGB for the easy win. |
