I still don't see where it makes any lick of difference if they face off now, or in the next round, or after that. If they're going to face off, who the hell cares when?
Yes, the majority would choose TMNT over Bionic Six. But if you put them right off the bat, you'll never see Bionix Six vs whatever they were put up against. You put those two against these two, then you're assuring both fail the first round. That's where it's unfair. As is, I see absoltely nothing unfair about MotU against TMNT first round, considering they're the most neck and neck vote that's happened yet. I see a lot of people complaining when they're favorites get put against another favorite, that they "should have been put against a shitty property." That's outright asinine and unfair. Say you rig the brackets to where only SW, TMNT, MOTU and Star Wars reaches the top brackets. Everyone can guess who's going to come out on top from the start. But now, did anyone anticipate TF trounsing Star Wars so badly? Can anyone call this one yet? No. No one can make a full 100% certain prediction of the end right now. And don't forget, there's actually prize money at stake in this contest. Of course they want to make it where people can't predict the outcome. It makes sense that the heavy hitters all face ovv pretty early. It makes a lot of sense, and makes the whole thing far more fair and equal. |
tough decision but i gotta go with my first love...MOTU...TMNT had my full attention for a few years and I loved it. however, He-man has stood the test of time in my book...still enjoy the figures, the comics, etc. TMNT i have no interest in at this time.

Turtles surpasses in every way.

Very hard choice. Went with MOTU.
|
I feel this choice comes down to which toyline you played with as a kid.
Nothing against the turtles, and I loved the cartoon, but for a toyline? I choose MOTU. |
TMNT for me. The inflatable blimp rocked!!!
|
The ultimate goal of this tournament is to have fun, see two toy lines go head to head and see who moves on. I did not put a big name against a tiny line because there's no fun in it, there's no decision to be made. But again, the aim for this was just to have a fun series of polls for people to vote on and discuss. There's no need to take something this innocuous so seriously.

This is going to be CLOSE

Wow i think MOTU vs TMNT will be the closest fight ever for these polls, at the end i certainly hope we get a listing of how many votes each toyline won by.
I like MOTU but it was TMNT that gave me the most fun. |
Just remembered to vote. Advantage MOTU. lol I actually played with both Turtles and MOTU. I had a great Turtles collection untill my step sisters kids got to them. I was pretty upset that my parents allowed them to play with them and then one day they were all gone. WTF. I would of have had a near mint loose collection of turtles and company because I was already 13 by the time they came out and I was treating my toys much nicer by then. One year all I asked my dad for was turtles. He must have bought me every fig on the pegs at the time. Then I made him pretend we were Jewish so I could get one figure a day up to Christmas. lol

I saw that TMNT was losing by 1 vote, had to sign in to tie this up. TMNT is the stuff. I have all 4 original + many + Scratch!

I think it'd have been more epic for this matchup to wait though. I see the point of putting the big names against each other, but just like sports playoffs, isn't it the point to watch the big names cream the little names early (unless there is an upset!) and then meet in the finals? We're getting 2 of the absolute biggest ones in round 1.. and now when you look at who finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.. one of these two will NOT be included. That's silly! You should actually have WANTED the big names to take on the little names early on so we had epic finales and an awesome final top 5 or whatever. Just my two cents, either way this is pretty awesomely fun. ;)

You should've agreed to disagree before calling people who posted their opinion. |
I remember getting that Slime Pit. The purchase, when I got it home, the first time I "slimed" He-Man. If TMNT would have been released when I was playing with MOTU, this vote may have been impossible for me.
|
For me at least, this boils down to age. I was much younger when He-Man came out, they were my first big boy toys/action figures. I watched the cartoon, even She-Ra. Me and my best friend both collected and played each other. By the time TMNT came out, I was growing out of toys and moving into comic books, video games, and music. I loved the Turtles original comics and cartoons. But I had stopped playing with toys and so had no Turtles. My little brother did, though.
As far as the polls, it seems that they are paired off against similar lines in terms of type of toy and popularity. It would be pointless for Go-Bots to go against Transformers, but going against another line in terms of popularity gives them both an equal chance. Thus TF vs. Star Wars. |
Wow, tough choice. I loved both properties as a kid, but MOTU was slightly before my time. I had a few of the figures and an incomplete Castle Grayskull that I found at yard sales and flea markets, but New Adventures of He-Man was more familiar to me.
On the other hand, TMNT was one of my top favorites. I loved the Technodrome playset, and the Sewer playset was totally radical! I still have all of them somewhere. Fond memories. Turtle Power! |
