IMDB is like Wikipedia. Anybody can write random rubbish because they're, I dunno, dickwads or something. Fortunately you CAN change or contest information.

This is the same site, after all, that claimed that Chris Redfield and Kazuya Mishima were in Smash Bros. Brawl, that Ron Perlman was in Scott Pilgrim, and so forth.

I'm not sure another hulk wouldn't come off as generic to most movie goers. Plus it seems they are skipping a bit ahead.

Well for one, his origin was one of the worst story arcs ever in the opinion of many Hulk fans because of how drawn out it was, seeing as how Jeff Loeb wrote it and created him I'm not surprised.

Two, could you imagine the critical backlash this would receive from the general non comic book reading audience?

"WOW, way to try to capitalize on Hulk's popularity from Avengers, Marvel, and save money at the same time. Instead of spending budget money on a new villain you just used the old Hulk animations and changed the color and hired a new Voice actor. Way to slap your fans in the face!"

I'm a comic fan and I still think turning Ross into Red Hulk was a very lazy thing to do from the House of Ideas. Not only that but they made Betty the red She Hulk too!? How's that for original? Maybe some people would enjoy watching the two fight on screen, but I can't see this being accepted by the general audience.

I hate the very concept of Red Hulk. I'll be pissed if they bring him into the movies.

Dude, did you read his actual origin story that took over a year? If you did and found it enjoyable, you sir, are a rare breed. not to say that's a bad thing because to each his own, but if you don't think having another Hulk that's simply another color and isn't Bruce Banner is kinda lame then we might as well just keep encouraging Marvel to simply duplicate existing characters...well, I guess they already do that enough, lol.

Casting changes can happen at any point during pre-production - sometimes during principal photography or even post-production. Scripts are rewritten all the time, also even during filming.

Also, unlike Wikipedia, IMDB has a review process that any new entry has to go through before it is published on the site. You can't just make a change and have it suddenly appear on the site like with Wikipedia.

Is it still possible that this is an early casting list and may not be the final list? Quite possible, this early in the production schedule. But demonizing IMDB simply because the casting list doesn't make sense to us (when we don't even know the full plot yet) is a little hasty, don't you think?

And regarding the casting of Yelena: musicians with no prior acting experience are cast in movie and TV roles all the time. Examples include: Will Smith, Ice T, Ice Cube, LL Cool J, Rihanna, Mariah Carrey, Rob Van Winkle (Vanilla Ice), among others. Some turn out to be good at it. Others - not so much.

Nah people make shit up and put them on IMDB all the time. I can guarantee you that Kazuya Mishima and Leon Kennedy were not going to be in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The review process isn't as thorough as you would think.

I get it from just speculation, I may not have the order correct, but I do know that before we see Avengers 2, we will see a 3rd Iron Man movie, a 2nd Cap movie, a 2nd Thor movie, and hell they could do a hulk,hawkeye,widow, giantman, wasp,fury movie who knows, as long as the movies are made well and have the same casts I will continue to buy tickets and more importantly toys.

IMDB's review process is a joke, and about the only verification it requires is someone saying "some dude on the internet told me." They only require the rumor of a whisper of a rumor to put something on the website. We've already seen this "review" process in action, given that Sam Elliot was listed as "Thunderbolt" Ross on that link a few days ago...now he's not, but he still made it onto the page. If they wanted to be credible on in-production films, they wouldn't even post "rumored" casting.

My intention wasn't to demonize IMDB even if it's often inaccurate on in-production films. I like IMDB just fine. My point was more to temper the expectations of the people that are taking it at face value. Conversely: Why so quick to jump to IMDB's defense? It's a fine resource for movie history. It's a considerably less valuable resource for information on movies that haven't yet hit the screen.

Sure, but Marvel Studios hasn't made any sort of habit of such casting. They generally aim for the best balance of talent and affordability they can get, and hire y'know...actors for their parts. Again, unless it's a two-second cameo appearance or a non-speaking role (ala Olivia Munn in Iron Man 2), it's almost certainly bologna. I'm betting Yelena isn't even in the movie, and was never planned to be. I could see a General Ross cameo, but Red Hulk? No way. Not in an Iron Man movie that you're already squeezing the Mandarin, whatever subplot War Machine will have, an apparent host of supporting bad guys, and the Extremis plotline into.
