Im just glad to finally note that I'm not the only one who liked the early 90's avengers because both she & Jason had some of the folks from there listed. This will be a tough call though. especially the MOE which it seems folks are forgetting about :D

Yeah- I almost went with an all new concept based on that run-
A Gatherers version of the MOE- Led by an alternate Proctor to the one Sersi killed. Their motivation is that the Avengers on their worlds failed to stop some threat that destroyed their world- one guy would be from Secret Invastion, one from AvX, one from Fear Itself, Doomwar etc.
Their motivation is also survival- they cant live long without having to replace their counterpart- and they feel they deserve to live!

Tony Stark would need to assemble a team to stop them- But since the Gatherers target their 616 conterparts, he cant use the same people against them- it would be too likely he'd lose his team.

So he has to get heroes as good as the Gatherers to stop them- an armored up Reed Richards to stop evil Iron Man for example, or Ares to stop Gatherer Hercules, Doctor Strange to stop Gatherer Brother Voodoo, Iron Fist to stop Gatherer Luke Cage, etc.
It would be an emotionally wrenching storyline and I'd have the whole thing be set up as a game between the Grandmaster and a mystery opponent that would be a suprise reveal in the final issue of the run.

^^ wouldn't ares get murdered by Hercules? Thor might be a better choice. But over all very good premise

and I would buy it still knowing the ending anxiously awaiting how you go about revealing it. the gathers in mind were poised to become the next MOE, or at least I thought so at the time. especially because the switched out vision and no one knew and it is too bad no one has thought to revive them in some form kinda like you are talking about you know

I will say that by far, this is the most well put together team

Depends- all the Avengers know the basics of the Gatherer versions, but Gatherers are not just some "Crime Syndicate" knock off- they usually feel justified in their actions- killing their counterparts being the small price of saving a world...but they're really not close to their 616 versions in character- more bitter and ruthless after jumping from reality to reality, gathering members and replacing ones that have been killed.
And to answer your question, it could be that Ares (newly returned from the dead) might accept a loan of 616 Hercules' magical weapons if it meant being able to take down SOME version of his jackass brother! LOL!

Basicly this Gatherer team would be like the Exiles, only instead of having a Quantum Leap premise, they would be intentionally jumping to worlds where the Avengers or X-Men or Defenders had screwed the pooch and the world paid the price for it. They recruit who they can and kill off the rest as the price of failure.
In the story, they'd be suprised that, while pretty damaged from various crossover events and major civilian casualty events (like in Secret Warriors, Genosha, House of M, etc.) the world has barely scraped by...

It would all start with the Gatherers coming through the Nexus of Realities and finding the Defenders there to make them go back....which leads to a very one-sided beatdown (hospitalization) of that crew.

Portal (remember him from Darkhawk?) from A.R.M.O.R. alerts the Avengers and gives them a general breakdown on this Gatherer team (maybe four pages of images with text boxes) leaving the first issue with Vision recruiting the new team.
hmm...definitely want to see an Avengers team led by Vision for a change!

I would have to say This is the Best Thought out Plan for The MOE So I say jason win round 1 for the villians. Can you do a nice heros Team Also? Most of the replys had ironman as leader and kinda dont wanna see Heros that are always in the spotlight.

I have to say i love this heros team the most These are all second rate heros that you just wouldnt think of as a team. But im wonderings whos the leader? Probly War Machine

Victor Von Doom ( the true Dr. Doom, who stopped fighting the FF long ago to explore the time stream. I figure he conquered worlds, fixed them, then moved on by his own choice. Starting the first exiles team by collecting allies to aid him in his quest.)

Magneto ( from a time where prof. X was killed by cyclops in an attempt to take over the academy and run it as a brotherhood collective with his love lady toad, a beautiful girl with the power to transform into a giant toad monster. This magneto also has the joking good nature and genius intellect of 616 Beast, in addition to Omega level Magnetism).

Hulk ( from world war hulk. Gets back to earth and finds its the new Skrull homeworld. Kills many many many skrulls with his warbound in tow. Freed slaves make up his conquering force, and he sits as king of his world. Victor approaches him three earth seconds before a beam of energy from the remaining skrull collective destorys his planet.)

Deadpool ( joined against his will. His home world shot him into space for his crimes and his inability to be destroyed. Tried everything on planet, could not kill this guy. Shot him into space. Deadpool in this version has the collected abilities of hawkeye, bullseye, daredevil, and luke cage. He also has thier voices in his head. Victor gives him a way of quieting the voices in his head, but now he works for Doom, got it? Got it.)

Nocturne the Pheonix ( the abilities of nightcrawler, mystique, nocturne, and the scarlett witch, this nocturne is from the AOA timeline and wears the red checkmark across her right eye. The Pheonix Force found her and they became one. Norturne realized the power she had, and embraced it, completely. She also really loves smoothies.)

The Black Panther Storm. ( in her universe T'calla was killed, and she took the mantle as she was his wife. She has all the fury of the storm inaddition to all the power of the panthers.)

Nova(Leader)- Richard Rider as Nova Prime, not that lameass kid. Flight, insane energy projection, super strength Vision this is his current and pre-Disassembled incarnation with emotions and real fire to his actions.
Phobos (God of Fear) Sure he's only thirteen, but you should see him mow through the Secret Service...and Norman Osborn....dozens of Hydra goons....an XBox...He's as great a warrior as his father -with both a magic katana and bigtime fear powers.
Beta Ray Bill- He's a horsey Thor that aint afraid to just kill a bitch!
Captain Britian- He flies and is a powerhouse, great with technology and insanely popular- access to MI-13 intel.
Moondragon- Marvel's mightiest telepath and one of the top martial artists too!
Box- Madison Jeffries finally steps back up to the plate and into the Box armor- with Madison on board, tech is covered and he might be the cure for Carnage.

Best of all, none of them have ever really worked with any of the others.

Masters Of Evil
The Mandarin- Ruthless, master planner, top martial artist and ten different powers when used together has destroyed a mountain range!
Malekith The Accursed (God and King of the Dark Elves) Bigtime magic and shape changing- total evil prick, but having fun.
Hybrid- unspeakable horror with professor X levels of telepathy plus telekinesis...wants a stable of super-powered females to breed with.
Carnage- he's in it for the same reason he does everything- to kill a ton of people- and because Mandarin installed a sonic bomb in his chest that would kill host and symbiote.
Goliath- Erick Josten's worst traits brought to the fore by Mandarin and Hybrid's mental manipulations- raw ionic-energy muscle, property insurer nightmare- like Wonder Man but fifty times bigger and half as smart.
Dark Beast- evil as hell version of Hank McCoy, promised the collected genetic samples in the Avengers medical database to take back to the AoA universe

This would definitely be a biiiiiig uphill battle for the assembled heroes (hell, for the entirety of the Avengers!) but hopefully the MoE's natural inclination to screw each other over will even things some.

It was a completely self generated labor of love. I like to add story it is fun to write and read.

That team was my pick for an Exiles team working in the interest of preserving and rebuilding broke timelines and worlds. During my daughter's nap Ill post my evil Exiles team line up. They are the opposite in intent. They destroy, kill, and maim worlds and timelines for fun and out of hate.

I went with Exiles because you said any team.
