Hence why the poll choice and 1st post specifically state the 90's version, I think we are all aware Wolvie's 1st costume was tiger stripe with short ears and lines on the cheeks.

I'll gladly take an AXM version in MU as well, as long as both fix the height/scale issue. But Tiger Stripe first, please. First, classic costume; second, modern; third, whatever other redecos that can be made from the mold.

Of course, I'd really like to see him in his debut costume since it hardly ever gets done. Or even the Days of Futures Past version (with Sentinel, natch).

Debut costume would be great eventually, I'd love to see a comic pack of Hulk #181 with an older style Hulk VS 1st appearance Wolverine in the MU line.

actually it does, you state that you would like to see that both versions be issued this year, I don't really see why we would waste space in the run with yet another wolverine figure when everyone knows that female sell off the shelf faster.....so if these "wolvie slots" were taken by females then the lines would sell more giving ample time to make both versions of your precious wolverine......

The topic is on Wolverine

the question you pose is ...
Which would you want more for Marvel Universe, Astonishing X-Men Wolverine, or the classic Tiger Stripe Wolverine?
there is a comma and no other choices????, so if it is strictly a question which over produced over exposed over the top character you would like to see?....i choose neither no more of this guy hes already had 3-4 figures in this line he is becoming the cobra commander of m.u. !!not to mention he has his own wolverine line which adds another 6 or so figures...... i think hes had enough.

There are other threads for wanting more females in the line. It's like a topic for example of the X-Wing VS TIE Fighter, if someone brought up how they wanted a Green Lantern figure instead, that would have nothing to do with the X-Wing or TIE Fighter.

As for there not being any other choices? That's the point of a poll. The poll is asking which Wolverine would you want to see more. If I wanted to debate something contrary to the poll at hand I would make an entirely different thread based on a different subject.

Anyways looks like this is close to a tie. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw both versions of Wolverine eventually, I just have no idea which would be produced 1st. The release of the blue/yellow X-Men costume Wolverine from late last year was a surprise.

Bah... BAH!!! Do over on the brown and tan one!

The Marvel Universe one? That one is okay for now, scale aside, I just hope we get a new one later on that is in scale, has the bigger ears from the later run, and an X printed/sculpted on his belt buckle.

You have to wonder though, we got a Wolverine in this year/series already. Marvel has stated that we will get A LOT of mutants this year of which we know, Nightcrawler, Storm, Juggernaut, Archangel, Havok and Mystique.

We also know that we got Wolfie v Sentinel coming up and Civil War comic packs shortly after. I totally agree with you that we will probably get both and my prediction is

ASX Wolfie with Civil War Comic Pack

Tiger Strip with Sentinel

LUCKYDUBE 02-02-2010 06:41 PM

I will be getting both, Hopefully.

uberlad 02-02-2010 09:06 PM

Scale is more important to me than avoiding ball joint legs, so I'm perfectly happy with the Wolvies from the XMO line. I popped a tiger stripe head on the astonishing body, and it is a pretty close match. It's not a perfect match, but I've seen worse on Hasbro produced figures. The too tall MU version just bugs me (although I really like the X-Force costume figure).

I'd much rather new slots go to all new characters.

An accurate X-Force costume with an all new body and properly scaled too would be cool, can be repainted in the ASX colors. It is a neat costume.

ThoR Da KinG 02-03-2010 03:13 PM

i got an idea ,why the tiger stripe maybe be the rare edition of AXM costume in MU lol

Well again you need to go back and read the old Uncanny issues....he was never in the X Men with the same mask (short ears and lines on the cheeks) he made his debut with in Incredible Hulk.....So as I said before the 90s suit is the same as the 70s (Uncanny X men) suit 'cept for the X at the Buckle....Cockrum gave him the larger ears and took the stripes away.....

decepticon_mark 02-05-2010 07:17 PM

Well until MU creates either{I'm sure they will after all they are the kings of the repaints}, I took the XMO tiger stripe's head that I got for my birthday and put it on the AXM costumed Wolverine from the Colossus two pack and viola'!, one XMO version of the AXM costume.

Johnnyakiba 02-05-2010 10:54 PM

Yeah, MU Wolvie has not gotten a good treatment. The maskless face is horrid and the body is soo limited in movement. (bulky muscles) I would love to see this figure along with Black Panther re-done to incorperate their melee brute way of fighting.

Anybody else notice the detail's of the claw that they left out? I know it is not critical but Wolverine has some claw gaurds on his knuckles. Anyone agree that this is worth persuing?

Awesome, so it works. I need to do that myself.

Yeah my biggest disapointment with the MU Wolvie out of all the body flaws is his claws. They are small, weak and inaccurate

I despise the upper torso of the X-Force wolvie mold. Mostly because of the neck piece. Everything else of it I can deal with except maybe the weird looking claws.

The claw guards vary per costume and artist though. So I'm indifferent on it.
The claws on the XMO astonishing costume are pretty good though. Especially in comparison to the MU and other XMO ones.

I never said he was in the X-Men with the short ears and stripes on his cheeks where did I say that? His 1st costume was the one in Hulk #181, which is the tiger stripe costume with the short ears and cheek stripes but no X buckle. I'm aware of what Cockrum did and that the X buckle didn't show up until much later.

The blue and yellow costume is traditionally known as the tiger stripe costume, it has nothing to do with the cheek stripes it's in reference to the black parts of his costume on the "shirt". So the original costume, Cockrum version with bat ears, and the 90's version are all tiger stripe but the mask is entirely different on the original and Cockrum with wider ears on the 90's versions.

I know which is why its not just known as the "90s" Costume...its from the 70s....

You're arguing semantics. The poll is SPECIFICALLY for the 90's version of the tiger stripe costume. If the poll was about 1st appearance Wolverine the poll would have dictated such. If it was about the Cockrum version the poll would have dictated as such. The poll is about 90's tiger stripe, it says 90's tiger stripe, the version of the cartoon is 90's tiger stripe and the poll is about 90's tiger stripe.

trebleshot 02-06-2010 08:04 PM

So...what you're saying is...this poll is about the 90's Tiger Stripe, right? :p

The 90s costume is the same as the 70s costume..........so to label it 90s is not correct..........The Jim Lee costume from the 90s is the same as the Uncanny X Men one......Cockrum drew it, Byrne Drew it and then Lee....it made its debut 2 decades before the 90s!!!

Its not based off of the 70s suit it is the 70s suit....just admit it....
