Here's another look at those dragon wings I love: Mega Bloks - RAWLSONG -Ocean Camouflage Dragon : Toys & Games : Amazon.com

I do think the 4 wings are excessive. Thankfully because they're MB I could pop two of the wings out so all the ones I own display only two wings.

The individual figures are up for preorder on TRU including Legolas for wave 1. I cancelled my amazon preorders as the TRU prices for the 2 packs and 5 pack are cheaper and free shipping is available. October can't get here soon enough!

Quasimodo 09-16-2012 11:39 AM

any pics of those wave 1 figs?

Holy crap - there goes all my money! I army built the hell out of the 6" LotR line and it already looks like I'm going to do the same with these. Sorry, wallet.

Ninjinister 09-17-2012 12:11 PM

Dat Warg.

Quasimodo 09-17-2012 01:18 PM

Nice. I like that single Legolas. He looks a lil chunky though

gunzilla 09-17-2012 01:39 PM

Bbts has the warg for pre order pricey with shipping but I gotta have it

gunzilla 09-27-2012 02:07 AM

More pics including a shot of Gandalf and Bolg, the Orc chieftain here: THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY Action Figures Give Us Our First Look At 'Bolg'

tlasjr 09-27-2012 09:29 PM

umm...I saw these at retail last weekend in TRU Peabody MA, below is the pic I posted in the MA sightings thread. I bought Gandolf and a big orc. I love the figures.

Jason Abbadon 09-27-2012 09:38 PM

Is gandalf really in 1:18th (3.75") scale?
If so, I'd buy him in a minute! we caould have Gandalf and Doctor Strange chillin' out together, smoking pipes (gotta get that shire weed) and kickin' back.

REALLY HOPING THESE ARE 1:18th SCALE!
Some great customizing potential if they are...and with some light blue drybrushing, that Goblin King would make a great Frost Giant or Asgardian Rock Troll!
I'd have the Warriors Three, Sif, Beta Ray Bill and Thor kicking it's ass.

Quasimodo 09-27-2012 09:42 PM

Any loose comparison pictures of these guys with other lines?

tlasjr 09-27-2012 10:24 PM

Yes they are /18th scale. Sorry for the poor limited number of pics buts its 115 and i have ot be up at 6. I wish I knew they have full pegs last week I only bought the Gandalf/bolg pack.

Saw them at TRU wednesday. Not a very big section, but had at least 1 or each first wave.

Loving the pics! Based on the scale pic with Gandalf I'm really gonna love this line! I've got the single packs and most of the two packs on order, but I'm definitely gonna have to run out and army build the hell out of those wargs! Can't wait for my stuff to get in next week!!

These look awesome and I can't wait to get my hands on 'em! Loving the scale and will definitely be customizing with these!

Quasimodo 09-28-2012 10:07 PM

Gandalf looks like donald sutherland. :p
And it sucks that the dwarves arent much shorter than gandalf

megajonzero 09-28-2012 10:23 PM

Is there a 6 inch legolas?

Jason Abbadon 09-29-2012 12:18 AM

Who is that female? She looks great and has some real customs potential.
Going Gandalf hunting tomorrow! Gotta buy a couple now...
What's the articultion look like though?
Gandalf there looks to have ball shoulders but the woman seems to have crappy straight-arm articulation and I cant tell with the dwarves...

Weapon XIX 09-29-2012 09:21 AM

There is a 6" Legolas in wave 1. The female elf is named Tauriel and there's a 6inch version. Of her too, though she looks very undersized - same height as Thorin.

I'm assuming the other dwarves will be shorter and that Tori's, as the leader, is probably the talles of the dwarves.

As for articulation, what I've gathered from other boards is:
Ball neck - though impaired by hair on many figures,
Swivel hinge shoulders
Swivel hinge elbows
Cut wrists
V swivel hinge hips like modern Star Wars
Swivel hinge knees
No ankles
No idea about the waist

So the articulation seems a lot like Star Wars figures minus ankles. I'm heading out hunting today and will post if I find anything.

FaustX 09-29-2012 10:32 AM

Something awkward about these figs that I can't quite put my finger on...would get a good dragon though.

Weapon XIX 09-30-2012 12:20 AM

No luck finding anything in store, but TRU added the Legolas/Tauriel 2 pack, the Gandalf/Bolg deluxe 2 pack, the Thorin/Goblin King set, and the Fimbul w/Warg set to the website. They are listed as in stock as opposed to the single packs and original 2 pack listings that are still marked as pre-orders and since they are not pre-orders there is no 1 per customer limit so I picked up a couple extra warg packs and elf 2 packs for customizing. I also cancelled my original pre-orders and shuffled things around since I no longer needed single versions of some figures, got free shipping, and got 20% off. Now to play the waiting game!
