I just wish just for easteregg fun for the fanboys, they had named his turtle "slash," or "tokka."

And maybe given April or Splinter a pet germain shepard named "Razar."

I donno, that would probably(In fact very likely) create entitlement issues with fans if then those pets never got mutated into the characters.
And then if they did, it wouldn't really be sly fan nods anymore.

At least with Raph's turtle being named Spike there's less of a chance for nerd drama if he doesn't actually ever turn into a mutant.

Crazy Jetty 10-18-2012 03:14 PM

eh, I generally don't care what fans nerdrage over. Chief reason I don't muck around with TFW2005, and stay out of the Marvel forums here.
A fun gag is a fun gag.
TFA did such things all the time without much negative results.

Paxtin 10-18-2012 06:01 PM

TFA was good at the fan nods. But they were also usually qucik little things. I think giving a established character a fan nod as a pet would drag it out too much to be a gag. (And Sary's robot dog Sparkplug doesn't count, for obvious reasons.)

A better way to do it as a gag would be something like a random person who's dog attacks one of the turtles while out walking, and they go: "No, bad Razar! You leave them odd looking green kids alone."

I withdraw the "weird" comment. Lol

I'm usually the least picky person when it comes to cartoon plots, but I really couldn't buy that Don just happen upon a highly advanced magic microchip in a junkyard. Even if it was a "Military Junkyard" I find it hard to believe that the military just threw out such a dangerous piece of tech.

I would have felt better about it if it had been salvaged Kraag tech. But otherwise it kind of took me out of the whole episode. Which is a shame, cause other then that it wasn't that bad of an episode.

I did kind of like how the...*groan*...Stockmen Pod had a sort of Mouser motif going on. Hopefully we'll see Stockmen return with his actual Mousers at some point.

Well that's the latest episode. Despite the odd thing of the turtles just letting April go off on her own, it was a very enjoyable episode. And not just because Metalhead was controlled with a NES pad. But does this mean the metalhead figure is in the wrong scale?

Yeah, I kind of wish the Stockmen episode actually came after the Metalhead one. That way they could have just said that Don made the T-pod out of the left over Kraag parts.

Given the Turtles and April are of similar young age, I didn't find it that odd that Leo let her go. Especially after her speech about actually doing something to find her father.

Also, Metalhead's figure does seem to be shorter then most of the Turtle's figures, but probably not as short as he seemed to be in the show. I only have Raph and Metalhead atm (Short on toy funds) and Metalhead comes up to about Raph's neck.

jaybird7072 10-31-2012 06:25 PM

Ya kinda shock metalhead was small in the show still cool tho

Optimus Neeson 01-28-2013 03:39 AM

I hope Mondo Gecko shows up in the show eventually. But more importantly, I hope his toy has more than 5 points of articulation.

gamecartridge 02-05-2013 12:04 PM

I like the show story is decent. Only thing is that the turtles look like fisher price toy, not a bad thing i guess just different.

I take it you're not familiar with the original line of toys, which looked even goofier.

Crazy Jetty 02-05-2013 05:15 PM

Not to mention that they look a lot more like the original artwork than Playmates or any show has ever done.

Optimus Neeson 02-05-2013 05:38 PM

Btw, Jetty. Razar is a wolf.

Crazy Jetty 02-05-2013 07:06 PM

Yah. Duh. But how many people do you know living in NYC who have wolves as pets? :P

Optimus Neeson 02-05-2013 07:43 PM

How many ninja clans and robot-wearing brain-aliens do you know about living in NYC?

Crazy Jetty 02-05-2013 08:25 PM

:mad2 :chair :rolleyes

Dark Hayabusa 02-05-2013 08:38 PM

If you can find a tiger in a NY apartment, then you could probably find a wolf

Tiger in NY...classic.

As a side not, Leo meeting Karai is always a hoot.

I did enjoy that. Especially when April took huge delight in every detail

:leo "And she's in the foot clan"

SLAP!:D

Can someone confirm something for me?
I watch the show, but not on TV. I stream it online.
According to IMDB, the last episode to air was "New Girl in Town" on February 9th (today), but I watched that episode one whole week ago. Is IMDB's schedule incorrect, or what? Also, I thought there was going to be a new episode yesterday, but according to IMDB, the next episode airs February 23. I thought there was supposed to be a new episode every week.

Crazy Jetty 02-09-2013 08:34 PM

IMDB is usually incorrect, and a terrible source of information for anything new.
I forget the name of today's episode, but New Girl was last weekend's.

Dark Hayabusa 02-12-2013 01:41 PM

The facial expressons on the turtles is just so above everything on TV right now. The the sudden shock and joy on Donnie's face when his turtle iphone went off and it was April. Genius

I guess you haven't seen a lot of anime.

You've got me confused. There was no new episode last weekend. There hasn't been a new episode for over a week. New Girl in Town is more than a week old. Also, I didn't know there would be a new episode today. Is it always on Tuesday? I could have sworn new episodes aired on Fridays.
