When will the winner be anounced?

I'll announce the winner on Monday, probably around noon EST.

Like I said, I'm my own worst critic, but I'm sure there are others on here who could relate to that.

lol yeah your right would wouldnt want to win! ive been looking for theClassic turtles in stores forever, and couldnt find them, but u shouldnt be hard on yourself your pictire is actually quite creative. turning an origanal peice of art and TMNT-izing it is actually pretty smare and i like how you made your picture look old, pretty smart. my pic isnt that creative, but hey, best of luck to you and tho othe people who entered, everyones artwork is better than i imagined and prety freaking creative. I know we all wish we could all win.

urmandj 11-30-2012 11:25 PM

Awesome!

I ran out of time making my entry, half procrastinated and half uninspired, plus the previous entries were better then what I was gonna make, so kudos to all that entered. and Good luck to all.

I agree with GokaiBlack, I thought your's was rather creative.

And yeah, we are always going to be our own worst critic. I know I am. I hate myself. lol...Heh...Eh...

Thanks guys. It's comforting to know that others like it. If nothing else, it was rather fun making. I hadn't used that tea technique in quite a while.

Anyways, good luck to my fellow competitors. It'll be interesting to see which of the ten of us wins. All of our entries are rather good.

Ravenxl7 12-03-2012 10:32 AM

Congratulations ToSte...:(

ToSte won, it's...on the front page...

Well, that's a bummer.. A guy who made a custom of plenty turtle figs wins more turtle figs.

There's no need for sour grapes my friend. The stand up thing to do would be to congratulate the winner and then try to win our next contest. There's always a next contest.

Exactly. I can't say that I'm not disappointed that I didn't win, but I'm still happy for ToSte. His custom is, after-all, really impressive. Now, if this had been four years ago...the then me would have been livid and post what I would have thought a rather witty retort.

On the topic of "sour grapes", that is one of two food-related analogies I've never fully understood. The other being stopping a bad habit "cold turkey". Well, I get what they mean, I just don't agree with them I guess. I like my grapes a bit on the sour side, and turkey is great cold, kinda like pizza that's been sitting in the box over night...Anyways, I'm getting way off topic here, so I'll be going...

Paxtin 12-03-2012 01:54 PM

I had a feeling ToSte had this in the bag. I mean his entry was the most ambitious, being a full on custom figure. He had a good idea for the theme too and come up with something pretty cool.

tomknox 12-03-2012 01:56 PM

Paxtin or mmatere gets my vote. Not very original copying the actual cover art for the contest, not to mention the arm and legs that were sacrificed... Goro/spider mixed turtle = renaissance, huh.

Mitch FIN Keith 12-03-2012 02:08 PM

that was the obvious winner

While I appreciate the vote, I think ToSte rightfully deserves it.

He also did much more then just coppy the base image on the front page, the image inquestion also being based off of a well known piece of art from the renaissance. So it was fair game.

GokaiBlack 12-03-2012 02:43 PM

Lol everyone expected him to win, I knew he was gonna win. But it's all good I did this contest for the fun of it. I wish the forum could have voted on who they wanted to win.(I never have entered a art contest where the entries don't get ppls votes to win) But hey it is what it is. Everyone had awesome art work, and congrats the the winner of the Badass custom turtle figure

It may have not been original, because i do agree copying the cover art wasnt that original at all, BUT! it was still a really good custom.
