I don't own a single one, but I'm pretty sure some of those Lantern figs could at least swivel at the waist.

Compare those Assemblers to those Real Steel 3.75 mix + match figures. Those had pretty cool sculpts and just about articulation everywhere except the midsection which had a decent light-up feature (as far as light-up features go).

As someone who collected the entire line of the 3.75 IM2 figures, it both saddens me and relieves me at the same time. Sad that the IM3 ones are such crap, but my wallet is sighing of pure relief right now.

DarthGzus33 02-04-2013 08:47 PM

The only two figs I will get are Iron Patriot and the new IM Movie Armor...This is only for completing my Hall of Armor (I should stand them both behind the Mark I!!!). Hell, I already have the "Shatterblast" one, it came with my F'n Quinjet and went into my "I didn't want this but it came with something I did want" Bin O'Crap!!!

That beng said, I am happy because my focus can really turn to Retaliation!!! :)

raiden225005 02-04-2013 09:33 PM

It just amazes me how bad these figures are. I made piece with the changes made to the avengers toys compared to the other movie figs but this is just a landslide dip in quality. Anybody know if the prices are also jacked up on these figures? I finally saw the 5-6 inch ultimate spiderman figures but was shocked that they were priced at 16.50. no thank you....

Its unfortunate they're not like the IM2 figures, heck not even the Avengers style figures. Can't blame hasbro for going to that route, they kinda need to in order to save costs/gain profit margin. Its good for my wallet as well.

Wished Hasbro good luck with these figures and hope they recover so they can invest on more articulation in their future lines. ]:

Morzilla 02-04-2013 10:11 PM

I am sure that HASBRO will say the same thing MATTEL said regarding their 4" batman: DKR figures. These figures are made in such so they appeal more to the average shopper rather than us the collectors.

I'm guessing that HASBRO betted a lot on the AVENGERS line that after slumping sales they took another approach to movie tie-in figures and decided to not invest tooo much on these, shame.

Quasimodo 02-04-2013 10:36 PM

Man, theyve fallen so far from the IM2 line. Which had better sculpts than even MU. The thing that sucks is that I'd kill for an IM2 style version of the new im3 armor and the two war machine armors

behindthemask 02-04-2013 11:07 PM

Is it just me, or is the Hello Kitty nightlight the only item that looks worth buying lol. that IronMan 10-12'' doll thing for the price looks ok.... but it would be something I'd buy and never open, just keep it for a wall decoration.... Man line of figures sucks, Luckily ML is doing it some justice along with Hot Toys.

James Rhodes 02-04-2013 11:54 PM

If they do a decent 6" movie version of War Machine and Iron Patroit I'll get those. Otherwise these are worse than the Iron Man toys from the 90s cartoon! At least they had vacuum sealed "armor".

Shin Densetsu 02-05-2013 12:12 AM

I spent a crapload on Iron Man 2 but will only buy the Legends from Iron Man 3.

If the Assemblers at least had knees and elbows I might pick some up but since they don't, pass!

FadeToBlackBolt 02-05-2013 05:26 AM

So bad. So very, very bad.

When the first wave of DC Infinite Heroes makes your figures look weak, then you've got a serious problem.

ad1976 02-05-2013 06:17 AM

Looks like my streak of buying nothing from IM1, IM2, and now IM3 continues.

Cheaper.
Assemblers cost about the same as MU in most places, but that's probably because of the engineering cost and durability needed for the parts swap system.

The normal figures are cheaper though, ranging from 5.99-6.99.

I'm going to laugh so much though when later waves up the articulation a shade and then start including comic figures. Doubtful I know, but the fake out like that to get material on shelves early for IM3, but then switch to better at the movie would be a fun experiment.

The main regular 3.75" line is the "All-Stars" figures for $5.99. The only other line of 3.75" figures are the Assemblers.

There is no other line, which is disappointing.

warmachine6 02-05-2013 12:08 PM

the sad thing is they use the same amount of plastic to make a figure although charge the same price no matter the detail or articulation ... please correct me if im wrong

The more articulation there is, the higher the manufacture cost. These basic figures are easy to put together compared to previous lines.

Same here especially the new movie suit. There's no reason the Assemblers shouldn't have elbows and knees.

The way it usually works though, is that the good stuff gets saved for the last waves, but the early waves clog shelves preventing the last waves to hit retail and instead are destined for ROSS/TJ Maxx, et al.

Pretty much.
Though it doesn't look like they over ordered on these. So who knows. The pegs have been nowhere near as full as with the other movies.

snake5289 02-05-2013 04:34 PM

I beg to differ. There was so much ASM crap clogging Wal-Mart that they haunted my dreams.

avengerboy123 02-05-2013 05:01 PM

Don't know if anyone else cuaght this but, the new iron man amour is being called mark 42. What's up with that?

I'm refering to IM3 movie toy pegs. Not Spider-man. Spider-man is part of the whole "previous movies" remark.

That's wrong. The 3.75" regular IM3 figures are $5.99.

Gotcha my bad. Haven't seen any IM3 stuff in person here so I can't judge...yet.
