Mecha Hulk from the 2004 line is also a good one to pick up. Especially with the new World War Hulks going on now. It also comes with an in scale (gremlin/gargoyle whatev, I always get his name confused, Hamill voiced him in the toon) figure.

Can somebody still explain to me though why SHS Elecktra sucks hardcore? Is it just the mold or does she fall apart?

The female SHS mold is very flimsy, and its overarticulation doesn't lend itself to a quality figure.

The earlier SHS figures tend to fall apart (arms and legs pop off very easily, but they pop on just the same). It is one of the reasons I would give the MU Namor the nod over Showdown. Showdown has a cooler sculpt, but mine has an arm that falls off if you look at it sideways.

I've found that Toy Biz did better by the larger figures. I have Venom, Juggy, and Colossus, and they're all the bees knees. They don't have the popping problems the earlier smaller figures did.

the other draw back to shs is the waist.

They fall in half all the time. Or at least my ironman does if I don't push his legs up when I reattach him.

I have some slight differeing opinions from Boombatty, here is my 2 pence.

On the issue of falling appart, I wouldn't put it that way, the articulation for the figs are much like Marvel Legends of the time, thus popping off the limbs is easy. Some can come off but snap right back on in my experence. Also eccessive removal will result in easy coming off. However this made the figs VERY cusomizable too.

For my part I have only had a few issues and none of them as major as discribed in this thread.

As for Wins and analysis between MU and SHS:
1) Thor - Noteing this is the Original costume only. SHS is the obvious winner, the hammer is greater, the mold is just awesome. The only problem with SHS thor is the cape (it keeps falling off).
2) Venom - SHS is ten times what Spidey put out, Some hate the tounge but I do point out that Venom always appeared with the tounge until after Spider-man 3 hit the theatures.
3) Daredevil (Red & Yellow versions) - Agreed SHS by a landslide
4) Colossus - SHS Is one of the best figures EVER! MU pics show it pales in comparison to SHS. Really one of the biggest winners of the line.
5) Reed Richards - Again agreed, SHS (both versions) destroys the MU version
6) Juggernaut - I have to disagree, I give this one to hasbro but barely. I think SHS came close with him but Hasbro appears to have topped it.
7) Namor - SHS I saw the regular MU one in the store, the head sculpt is miles ahead on SHS which makes it the far winner.
8) Beast (Grey & Blue versions) - Wolverine and the X-Men is a paperweight, SHS is miles ahead and I don't see hasbro topping it.
9) Magneto - Agrred, SHS by a landslide again. No comparison.
10) Wolverine (Costumed) - Disagree, I give this to the Wolverine Origins version. SHS had "painted" eyes which is way a departure from the comic look, MU are all too big.
11) Thing - again I think SHS cuase his rock look si smore defined by better paint apps and a better overall texture.
12) Black Spiderman - I am not as impressed by MU version as everyone who has said they are. Taller than the other spideys ect. SHS is the winner on that basis alone.
13) Red/Blue Spidey - SHS all he way Also "Spider sence" was not a chase but repaint in the same wave. It was ok but I avoided it.
14) Punisher - All of them suck, but if I had to pick a winner, SHS for articulation mostly. I hope someday the release a decent one though.
15) Dr. Doom - SHS by a nose, its a close call, the only thing I hate on SHS is the way the cape falls, but also the Hasbro one is made in such a way he looks like he is holding his legs in a "gotta go" stance half the time, the skirt should have been made better.
16) Doc Oc - SHS by several miles.
17) Hulk - One of the toughest, MU is a good mold but lacks articulation in some areas that sorely need it (hips), but they got the height and perportions right. Movie line is good if you hold the hulk at being 20 feet tall, but I don't. SHS is snewy for lack of a better term, so SHS wins but its close and could easily be outdone.
18) Ghost Rider - On the two SHS versions, both look to take after the Dan Keitch version. Niether looks anything like the Johnny Blaze original version, but one has a bike (which is really cool). The single pack looks better overall, but the bike is a nessessity (which comes with the riders pack). MU is still out so it might be overturned as the cooler one, but with MU's track record I wouldn't hold my breath. The best part of both GR's is the flames are translucent while the skull is painted, very cool effect. If MU doesn't do that or similar I think SHS will be the winner.
19) Sue Richards -SHS looks like carol channing actually LOL. I am not a huge fan so if/when MU finally does a version I think Hasbro will win that round.
20) Wolverine (T-Shirt) - SHS by a nose, but its not a look I ever liked with Logan anyway.
21) Wolverine (Motorcycle Cowboy) - Ugh they all suck.
22) Elecktra (White and Red versions) - Pretty bad all the way around, I agree with boom's assesment here.
23) Cyclops - I really like the Wolverine origins overall here. While the exact costume has yet to be done for MU, the next closest one (Secret Wars) Is not bad, SHS is cool too but he is one of the overly tall ones. MU is tolerable as well but not perfect. Animated X-men has a cool look but sucks on articulation. Any besides the animated work, I give it to WO though, just like that figure.
24) Green Goblin - SHS is much more detailed than MU or Spidey line. The glider is better for MU I admit but is also available with Hobgoblin.
25) Mole Man - Cool figure, I can't see hasbro beating it.
26) Iron Man - SHS is good, not great though. Iron Man line does blow SHS out of the water. My faves thus far are "classic" IM and Hypervelocity. I disagree on Boom's view of the Wave 1 MU version though, its cool and has its uses but does show some of the glaring problems with the MU line. Extremus armor is another one that I thought would be bad but knocked my socks off. I highly recommend it.

Only one I saw left out (but very important)
27) Silver Surfer-MU plain sucks next to the SHS version. The MU board looks like it was molded from very cheap plastic where as the SHS is a work of art. Also SHS managed to make a metalic sheen without any metalic paint, its a great effect. The MU looks like it was painted with glitter in comparison. SHS is light years ahead of MU.
28) captain America-Mostly its head sculpt that wins here. The MU suffers from the long torso syndrome but not to the point its ugly (as it has been on some MU figs). But the head sculpt on SHS is just horrid, So I give it to MU.

Between ketch and blaze, I really hope the coming MU one is his late 90s outfit that was only used for awhile by ketch before going back to normal. I kinda liked that orange and black cyber punk look over the ketch or blaze renditions. Sadly no company has done a figure of that one.

At least we'll be getting his bike in marvel crossovers though. Shame there aren't many other supplemental vehicles like that.

Oh, and I forgot to add Master Mold to my list of Toybiz X-Men era in scale figures.

I'm not a fan of SHS. Granted I only have 2.
But punishers arms and mold just seems too long, the fact his joints can't hold weapons in his poses don't help, and how often he falls apart doesn't either.

Ironman doesn't bode much confidence from me either. Just sitting his armory alcove, sometimes he just randomly splits in half at the waist and his top half falls out. And that's besides the other limbs that flop around freely too much. The only redeeming factor to these figures for me was the stands. But I gotta say the construction doesn't make me enthused to get anymore. MU seems far more rigidly constructed, and doing the costumes I prefer like modern thor (with hammer inscription!) even reed I prefer the MU one's head. The body not so much, but that's easily fixed. Doom I also prefer the MU version, but I head swapped mine to an Ultron body, so I don't have that head falling off problems others have. I'm just not fond of the loose construction SHS uses after having my hands on MRS which offers the same if not more articulation but sturdier figures and plastic than SHS uses, since then I just can't look at SHS seriously. Bandai blew toybiz out of the water with those Rider figures in the same scale. Hasbro seems to be keeping pace rather well though, albeit slowly adding it.

Are you sure that Ghost Rider Marvel Crossover's bike will be to scale for a 3.75 figure? It seemed kinda big to me....

MLSD is getting a lot of love in this thread, and while some of it is deserved, I wonder how much it reminiscing about the ToyBiz glory days and more hating on MU for supplanting ML. I mean, of the MLSD figures I have, only Venom I really think is neat but he's only barely grown on me. Granted I haven't bothered to spend all that money to get a MLSD Thor, but I really think the MU SW Thor is serviceable and obviously the modern MU Thor is exceptional. I would just advice someone to only pick and choose from the MLSD stuff and be prepared for cheap or flimsy figures that you can't return and sculpts that can be very questionable to begin with before you consider the now-dated looking muscle striations they were given and how they're completely broken up by all the articulation TB tried to shove in there.

The MU figures I just like better for a more comic feel and cleaner looking lines. I'm really excited for Hasbros version of T-bar and thigh swivels. MU will eventually fix Magneto and Reed. I have faith.

It might be a shade bigger than Animated Oil Slick. But we'll see when it comes out. They haven't shown it against the spidey bikes, so I can't use them as a comparison. (They are slightly too large)

To be fair, the SHS figs you have are two of the bad ones. IM barely gets a pass due to Stark being able to wear a bunch of outfits, Punisher is crap all around.

And I would probably think CP thor was ok if I had never had SHS Thor in hand (PS, unless I have a variant my modern thor does not have the inscription, only CP thor who looks like he shold have washed his hammer in cold, Modern has a different hammer dispite what some reviewers are saying).

I thinnk you're very right. I have a lot of faith in MU that they will re-release the important characters (Reed, Maggie, Cyclops etc).

Part of me though is impatient and just wants to have more and more ( I HUNGER ) hence the Elecktra thing. The orignal point behind this thread was to find some obscure guys who MU may never/or will take a lonnnnggg time to get to.

Out of this so far, I got Moleman which I don't think will ever get a spot (for a while) and some other cool guys to boot. So keep em coming!

I really hope it works. Cause it's doubtful Ghost Rider will come with his bike this time around. Single card price. If he had the bike it'd be more towards a comic pack or XMO deluxe pack. (Single carded case assortment too.)

Not true. When Venom first debuted, he was not drawn with the dangling tongue. His original look was a wide toothy grin and the tongue look came later (much to my disappointment).

If it's similar to the Spidey bikes, then it will be oversized. I'm also hoping it will be slightly smaller and that the bulk of the robot will be stretched out across the chopper dimensions so he'll still be in scale in robot mode.

At this point, I'd say TFA Oil Slick is probably the closest we can get with modern releases of toy bikes. I refuse to consider Wolverine's bike, since that's not really GR's style.

Not without some heavy modding which...can be done but very be-grudingly. We could always get a diecast to scale bike and pimp it out....

Point is, if we need to have a bike for good ole GR we will make do somehow I suppose

So I got a shipment in on those Showdown toys (Reed Richard vs Moleman and Beast, Doc Ock will be coming shortly). And man...........flimsy is as flimsy goes.

But on the whole I'm still fine with acquiring these pieces. The sculpts on them are very good and the paint jobs arent bad (Beast is a bit sloppy but its ok by my standards). When I pulled Reed out I lost an arm and a leg immediately but some brutal force got everything working again. Beast lost his leg and it feels fine...but I'm afraid to manuever him too much and have his leg fall off again.

I'm not sure if I will invest in anymore pieces in this line but if I would I'm thinking;

Magneto vs Colossus

Cyclops

Namor w/ Shark (I'm a sucker for that shark I dont know why....)

Maybe Venom.

I know it's not a 3 3/4 figure, but the BAF Sentinel from the Legends line scales very nicely with the MU figs. (Sorry I just got it and had to show it off a bit =D )
