I would probably get the classic style 4-inch one for my 3 3/4-inch "Movie Maniacs" shelf.

I don't know if this is true but at the SDCC panel Joes Padilla, the director, said that he has the right human hand to shake people's hands because that is one of the most direct ways in our society to create a human connection and the thought is that when he shakes people's hand, when they receive that known tactile sensation, it puts them at ease and makes them less scared of this machine, this other. Which is pretty interesting at least as a concept. As for the toys, I may buy them, but I'll be more tempted if they make the actual soldier drones and of course a scale accurate ED 209.

Okay that I like.
I still wish they'd give him a glove at least though. Then it'd give even more human casualness to it as he'd remove to shake hands. That would subconsciously illicit a response of "he really is human under all that Detroit built steel."

Though on my shelf he's not going to be RoboCop. Its going to be a RoboSwat Squad for me. xD

I'm a little more enthused by the movie now though with that hand explanation. That makes sense, just still wish they gave him at least a kevlar glove he can take on and off though for added impact.

Very true.

Hmm... The 6" figure could possibly be a good base for this Death's Head.

Not a fan of the new look at all. To be honest I just don't feel the need for Robocop to even be remade, wish they'd just leave classics alone.

cobracobra 08-01-2013 01:38 PM

I think they missed the point of Robot Cop.

I guess in addition to Halo toys, they make some pretty good diecast cars...or used to back in the day. Bunch of import cars i enjoyed under their Import Racer, Option D, and Initial D brandings.

I agree the new look is not very ''robo" to me. More like a dude wearing a bike suit. Not bulky enough to look "robotic". The only thing i know is, that gun better be coming out of his leg

Robogeek28 08-05-2013 04:03 AM

I had no idea that this new Robocop was going to have an exposed hand. I don't care WHAT the explantions for it are, it looks stupid as hell.

redx24 08-05-2013 09:47 AM

^^^ agreed.
