... so all those BATMAN figures couldn't save the club?

Sorrow Bringer 01-25-2014 12:03 PM

Ha! It all comes down to money is mattel that poor they need to ask fans to fund their dc figures! Sorry I got it wrong, mattel is not poor they just dont trust toy guru to deliver the goods, they just dont trust his decision. Thats why fans have to pay before producing shit! In NECA we trust! Get fans feedback from twitter or facebook might help you decide wether a certain figure would sell fools!

I love the commercial "Mattel Started in a Garage". That's also where a lot of people store Garbage cans so.

2014 is dawning and it’s a great time to be a DC collector on Mattycollector.com!
... I wonder if he REALLY believes that?

Somebody's got to.

CMIII 01-26-2014 12:18 PM

he's probably the only one who does..

Everyone else sees this move the potential death of the 6 inch DC figures.

Dormamu 01-27-2014 07:48 AM

Well, since Hasbro decided that Transformers were too complicated for kids, this was just the next logical step.

Generation Honey Boo Boo has won folks. Welcome to the age of ignorance.

CMIII 01-27-2014 10:34 AM

Ugh Generation Honey Boo Boo sounds dumber the Generation Snookie

Ebonyleopard 01-28-2014 04:27 PM

Well, more money for me to save now anyway. I felt since the new 52 started my interest in DC figures was dying anyway because the thing about classics is it actually got me to start researching the older characters they were putting out. The only thing I regret is they never gave us the Vixen figure the packaging art was promising. (Never liked the fact that all the characters in the art got a figure BUT her).

Same here. Batman TB&TB was a fantastic opportunity that was squandered in typical Mattel fashion. That show pushed me to read comics and buy toys that I never would've otherwise. It could've sold alot more toys if Mattel or retailers had even the faintest hint of a clue. Difficult to see what's so great about 2014 as it pertains to MattyCollector; a few lackluster subscription figures and maybe another round of retro Megos? Woohoo...

While you may feel that way (and that's perfectly fine), not everyone shares your opinion.

In the case of TFs, I agree with Hasbro. Some of their movie designs, especially during ROTF, were needlessly over-complicated. But that doesn't mean that now all of their products are going to be as complicated as Rescue Bots. They have explicitly stated that Generations will remain at its current level of complexity, and that future movie toys will be less complicated than in the past.

Regardless, what Hasbro does or does not do with Transformers has no bearing on what Mattel does with its DC license. Different play pattern, different level of appeal.

Sorry, but after six months of reading about the fan outcry regarding 6" DC figures, I'm all out of empathy.

Problem is that there have already been signs of cutbacks in the Generations line. Thankfully they've gotten better at hiding it, but it's still noticeable. But as long as I have an inexpensive(?) line that isn't overly simplified, they can have their simplistic Transformers. Cause I'm not rolling in it like I want to be, I can't snatch up Masterpiece figures.

So I can stop caring about your posts now, right? :P

(Kidding... please don't ban me.)
