Totally forgot about the game. I only remember the comics... By dark horse, I think. All sorts of crossovers I the late 80's early 90's.

FRANK MILLEEEEERRRRRR!!! NECA has stated that they'd like to do figures based on the comics next year, kinda like how they're starting to do Predators from their comics now too.

I still wanna see Robocop taking down Terminators on the big screen. Or at least an animated straight to DVD/Blu-ray movie.

They adapted Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns pretty nicely as an animated film (in two parts) and they used Peter Weller as Batman for that. Reassemble the same team for a Robocop vs Terminator piece. A live action attempt would most likely botch it.

Robocop would kick down the door on a Terminator plant and he'd say "bitches leave" even though that wasn't his line in the movie. Then he'd kill the shit out of every Terminator there, but like with flamethrowers and a chainsaw hand (a little Evil Dead reference never hurt) and robot-attack-helicopter-fists!!!! Pew! Pew! Arrghh! Kablooom!! Terminator pieces everywhere! In the end Murphy looks into the camera-eye of Skynet, and before jamming his middle finger of death into its brain, he smiles and says "thank you for your cooperation."
Credits roll, makes a billion dollars at the box office, end.

I figured with Robocop and Terminator getting reboots it'd be possible for a Robocop vs Terminator movie but yeah they'd probably trash it.

You know what though I'd still be there opening weekend.

Pardon my language here, but FUCK the Robocop remake.

Dude YOU need to get that made exactly like that. That ending would be perfect.

I'm assuming these are releases of a previous mold (which I never owned). Whats the articulation like? Are there any areas prone to breakage?

I only have a NES Robocop as far as these molds shown, but from what I've read elsewhere I hope they've upgraded the endoskeletons durability. As for Robocop, he's mostly solid except some people (not me) have reported that his heel-pistons can break. His overall articulation is fair. A double ball-jointed neck, ball-hinged shoulders, hinge elbows, swivel forearms, ball-jointed upper torso, swivel waist, ball-hinged at a V-angle hips, hinged knees, and hinged feet with the moving pistons. His pose is mostly stiff for me, but to be fair Robocop wasn't exactly fluid in the movie. The sculpt and display value are fantastic. Pretty much like most NECA figures, the pose is there but it loses out to overall look.

En Sabah Nerd's description of the Robocop is fairly accurate, and as he says, while the Robo is not poseable on a Marvel Legends scale, it is still highly functional, allowing you to capture many of the classic poses that Robo performed in the movie. It shouldn't disappoint, unless you are expecting Robocop to perform Jean Claude Van Damme style roundhouse kicks.

The most common area of breakage on Robo is the pistons on the back of his ankles and calves, he's still a pretty sturdy figure by NECA standards, and is much more durable than the Robocop released by McFarlane Toy's Movie Maniac line several years ago.

The Terminator is a much different beast. I have the T800 from the NECA T-2 line, and it's terribly underwhelming. It has a fair amount of articulation points: head swivel, movable jaw, hinged shoulders, single jointed elbows, waist and wrist swivels, hinged legs, single jointed knees and ankle swivels. While it sounds nice and promising, many of the joints are compromised by sliding pistons on the figures that severely limit the amount of movement and are incredibly fragile. This is especially noticeable on the legs of the figure, where the legs are able to swivel outwards and split at about a 30 degree angle, but cannot move and kick forward what-so-ever thanks to the pistons that connect from the figure's inner thigh to it's crotch. Forget about dynamic poses with this guy, him standing straight up holding his weapon (like the picture in this article) is about all you're going to be able to do with him.

While beautifully sculpted, the Terminator Exoskeleton figure is also EXTREMELY fragile and cheap feeling. Have a hair dryer or warm water ready, because you will most likely need it, as figure feels like it will fall apart on you with the slightest bit of force. This is especially true with the legs (due to the pistons), the head and jaws (which have wires that extend into the sculpt) and the hands of the figure, where the fingers are individually sculpted out of a semi hard and brittle plastic. Getting the laser rifle into his hand was a hair raising experience for me, as I had to warm the hand with hot water, and gently pry his fingers open just so I could get the figure to properly grip it without breaking them off at the knuckle.

Unless NECA made some changes in the plastic for the video game versions, this is a figure that you might want to get a stand for, because if he tumbles off of a high bookshelf onto a tile floor, you are mostly likely scrapping a terminator from your collection. If you want to get a nice display piece though to sit on your shelf that you are not going to fiddle with too often, you won't be disappointed. However, if you want an army of Terminators to battle your Robo, there is a cheaper and much better route to go. While they were uglier figures, the T700 figures that came out from Playmates a few years ago from the "Terminator Salvation" movie were still fairly decent looking, had a nice amount of articulation, and were much sturdier than NECA's offerings. Even better, for the price of two of the RCvsT figures, you could get 4 or five of them on ebay, making them a good army building option.
