I want NECA to make Jack Burton!!!
Who's with me?! |

I think most people consider Jack Burton his second most iconic character after Snake. MacCready was the bushy-bearded hero, but the Thing itself stole the movie (as was intended). Whereas Jack Burton is cocky and self-sure, he thinks he's the hero, but he's not. If you look at it, the one who actually does most of the fighting and has more reason to take Lo Pan on is Wang, Jack Burton is the sidekick (he's still the movie's protagonist, but is fairly incompetent in a fight and never sure of what's going on). That's why I feel Jack Burton is typically considered Kurt Russell's second most iconic role (not that the others are bad, but he owned it as Snake and Jack the best).

I'll take almost any Kurt Russell figure they can produce. A 7" scale Snake, MacReady and Jack Burton would all be instant buys for me.
|
Somebody once asked NECA on Twitter if they could make figures for The Thing. At the time NECA didn't have the rights, but maybe now that they can do Escape From New York (and have Kurt's likeness rights) maybe they can do more John Carpenter films. All we can do is wonder right now.

Penguin = perfection.
Any word on the rocky horror picture show figures they were working on years ago? |
|
That's quite an improvement for the 84 figure, but the spines still seem a bit smaller than they should be.

Godzilla's head looks a lot better. Might buy this.

Kudos to NECA for redesigning the head sculpt on this, but I'm still just not feeling it. I'm a bit biased in saying so though, as I've always hated the 1985 design. It always looked a little too ape-like to me.
Hopefully NECA or MonsterArts will eventually get around to making us a Zilla from GMK. I'd love for them to take a stab at some of the kaiju we haven't seen yet as well, namely Megalon and Jet Jaguar. |

In all seriousness, I have a soft spot for Megalon, because it was my first experience with Godzilla as a kid growing up. I found the movie at a garage sale with my mom as a kid, and I loved every bit of it. Being older now...it really is a ridiculous movie, but I still love the creatures, and it's far from the worst Godzilla film to come out of Japan. I'm gonna have to agree with En Sabah Nerd and say Godzilla's revenge was probably the worst, with Godzilla vs. Hedorah being a close tie for second. The scene where Godzilla is able to fly using his fire breath really just takes the movie to a whole new level of absurd. As for Minilla...ugh. He reminds me of slimy, rubbery pinata. Where did I put my bat? :D |
Ew. Yeah, In fact, I hate nearly everything from the 70s that dealt with Godzilla because they dumbed him down to the extreme. If I wanted to watch Godzilla save children, I would watch Gamera instead.
Anyway, the redone 84 Godzilla from NECA looks great. Not perfect, but is a must buy now. |
The updated '85 Godzilla looks much better now. Before this I definitely wasn't buying it. But now with the improvements I'll be getting him. I'm looking forward to seeing how they do the '54 version that they've said they want to do.
