So, these are an all-new scale for DCC, and not the exact same size as their current offerings?

Hopefully they're still fairly compatible. I've been waiting for a decent Green Arrow for my DCC shelf, and I would love to have this version. It's a pretty nice touch that he even includes the new bow as well as the set of arrows from the series 2 Arrow figure. Hell, even if he's smaller, I'll probably still get him. Some characters are shorter than others, after all.

Similarly, I really like that Superman (way more than my current New 52 version), but I won't get him if he ends up being a little shorter than the rest of my collection.

I'll probably buy Blue Beetle and add him to my Young Justice team consisting of New 52 designs. I'd kill for a classic Wally West Kid Flash or a Superboy in this line.

Honestly, this whole toyline looks freakin' great.

Charliegone 02-13-2015 12:35 AM

About freaking time they started competing with ML's. I generally held out on buying DC figures mainly because of the terrible articulation, etc. I just couldn't deal with it, other than the animated series figures which I love (who didn't watch the shows back then?). This is a line I can definitely get into, now for QC, that's another story. Hopefully these are more durable.

OGTrilogy 02-13-2015 09:31 AM

I have to admit these figures look amazing. I'll probably end up getting most of them, even though I have multiples of some of these guys already. It looks like the have two joints in the abdomen to me. I really hope DCC switches to a different kind of plastic that isn't so brittle or else these will be really fragile.

CMIII 02-13-2015 06:06 PM

And I just complained that Throne of Atlantis sets looked like bigger versions of Total Heroes and DCC can't do DCUC replacement

Maverick 02-13-2015 07:23 PM

These all look great besides aquaman what's up with that head. Now I need DCC to break out the new 52 4 inch line.

Pravus Prime 02-13-2015 08:39 PM

Black Adam is instabought. Glad I didn't get that limited figure from a few months ago.

Is no one else going to comment on Bats Thunder Thighs?

i don't really see it. it looks as if he has the same size thighs as superman but his shoulder to shoulder width isn't as wide as superman's. which could possibly be giving off the impression of thunder thighs when there isn't.

Agreed. I've been wanting to get some 6" DC figures, but none of the DC figures have looked right or had bad articulation. These look like they'd fit in well next to my MLs figures. I'm quite impressed by the detailing. Hopefully they look as good, or better, in-hand as they do in the photos.

Feijai 02-18-2015 04:11 PM

Would hope one day Mattel and DC get there act together and make some Wildstorm figures. Ever since they acquired the line, no figure have ever came out.

Nice article from DC Collectibles regarding the articulation of their new Icons Action Figure line:

Not listed or seen on the protos but the graphic shows swivel thighs. Hope those make it in since they are useful especially since there's a ton of articulation points already.

Right on. This line is impressing me more-and-more. These will by my first 6" DC figures ever. Finally my ML guys will have some DC rivals.

Definitely. Glad they switched to making these in the 6" scale instead of their normal 7" ones since my display is sorely lacking in DC stuff. Never been into Mattel's DCUC offerings aside from The Question. Already planning on picking up Supes, Bats, and GL. Only thing I'm still gonna be wary about is the QC on the plastics used. Read they're addressing it for most 2015 figures and onwards. Main reason why I haven't picked up any DCC figures yet.

Hmmm, that's worrisome regarding the plastic quality. I have most of these on order through BBTS. Hopefully we'll see some good reviews before the come in stock there.

Yeah it's what held me off from buying the Animated Series stuff even though they look amazing. Seen folks with no issues and others with breakages on the ankles and wrists. But this DCC QnA addresses it so figure by the time the Icons stuff hits end of this year maybe it'll be sorted.

Not digging the trunks on batman at all. Looks like he's wearing boyshorts or something. That superman is amazing, though. Probably the best one i've ever seen.

Cant wait for the new 52 versions of these.

Tony_Bacala 03-05-2015 05:07 PM

All in, can't wait.

Ditto. Figure designers seem reluctant to line up joint cuts with costume elements. Take Captain Marvel by Marvel Select: my favorite Marvel character, and look what they did to his waist! Like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Many years ago I read a comic where Ray Palmer in his Silver Age costume was mistaken for an Atom action figure by a child who proceeded to thrash him and generally treat him like one of the other figures in his collection. Considering the lousy attention to detail of toys in the 70s, I remember thinking that the other figures would have to be very realistic for the real thing to be so mistaken, and consequently thought how neat it would be to have a lifelike action figure of the Silver Age Atom at 6" scale. Surprisingly, to the best of my knowledge, it's never been done. If this new female figure was to be followed by a male counterpart with realistic body proportions, and similar minimization of joint cuts, I'd jump on it.

There was a Silver Age/Ray Palmer Atom in the DCUC Line. He was one of the retailer exclusive ones though, I think.

Skoob 03-06-2015 12:46 AM

Will check it out. Tks

warmachine6 03-06-2015 05:05 AM

so the equivalent of marvel legends but dc
so im sold , sorry wallet

Dr Kain 03-06-2015 07:28 AM

I think you guys expecting these to rival your Marvel Legends are going to be disappointed. Mattel already did that, and did it better, and I doubt DCC will have the QC needed to out do Mattel (at least, for the waves that were done when Mattel cared).

VashTS 03-06-2015 09:30 AM

Mattel do NOT rival legends...nope, DUCU was bad in comparison.

Icons look great and much better. If they get paints and detailing right, they can rival toy biz.

I am curious, that batman they show its that from a certain artist or era?

I disagree. The DCU line was superior to Marvel Legends. ML has gotten much better since Hasbro took them over, but before they had pegs sticking out of every orifice, they looked just like shapes attached to each other rather than body parts. Mattel's line had the right amount of articulation, kept the bolts to a minimum, and could actually hold their weapons (well, unless you are Stargirl) without them falling out from movable fingers.
