I am not a fan of that cartoony Hulk figure. The rest all look like they come from a comic, even if it's not actually a comic used design like Ultron, but Hulk looks like a cartoon character with those sharp lines and angles which doesn't look right with the rest of the figures in the set.

Isn't that Hulk based on McGuiness' artwork?
|
Dammit. That sucks. I wanted that set.
|
I could do with 'color/paint edits' for Iron Man and Ultron...
@305Batman I'm pretty sure you are correct. Both that Hulk and the Red Hulk came out pretty close the 'Red Hulk' Story arc and McGuinness was the artist... @En Sabah Nerd Personally, I like that Hulk sculpt. It captured the feel of McGuinness' artwork. That said, I can understand why many people don't like Ed's exaggerated proportioning, possibly making this Hulk less than appealing in their eyes. I think Ed's art and the sculpt for this Hulk fig approximate the monstrous size of the character...He's not really supposed to have a physique that a human could attain under any circumstances, be they natural or artificial in nature...depending on the particular incarnation of the Hulk, Banner can gain more than 2,200+ lbs of muscle. What's that supposed to look like exactly? Nothing realistic, that's for sure. I do see your point about it seeming extra cartoonish next to some of the other members of the set. In that sense, I think Thor looks nearly as out of place as the Hulk... EDIT: After rereading your comment, I see now that your complaint was more about the lack of rounded edges than the sheer size of the Hulk... |

Thor looks too big to me now that you mention it. Like either Thor should be smaller or Hulk isn't big enough. |
Yeah... Hulk almost looks like a figure from a different toyline with how stylized he is. In fact, if anything was giving this set the bootleg vibe, it was probably the inclusion of that Hulk. lol

@En Sabah Nerd
Sure, I get what you are saying. If I remember correctly, you draw/illustrate superheroes. Your eye might be more inclined to spot details like that. ...and, Thor is way too big on that buck. It's always been a pet peeve of mine. The proportions of that Thor fig easily puts him at 7' when his actual height is around 6'6". Drives me nuts. It's for this reason that the ToyBiz Giantman series Thor is still my favorite. |
