Maybe the new DC icons wave will get a movie line or something like hasbro are doing with marvel legends, one can hope

zim 07-01-2015 03:39 PM

Is this an SDCC exclusive or retail preview? The full size batman vs superman car would be great as a model. Is the batman car from HW 1:43 scale or 1:64? Where can you buy this?

Skoob 07-01-2015 04:08 PM

The car is cool.

I would guess that the stuff is merely being announced at SDCC. Those figures will warm pegs across the entire western world in months to come.

Thinking more about Batman's armor, it clearly is NOT aerodynamic, meaning Batman has no intention of battling for air superiority. Furthermore, it's very bulky, hardly suitable for fast movement, and there's some kind of mesh and harness attached to his shoulders. Thinking of the strange dialogue, "Do you bleed - you will," I wonder if the purpose is to look menacing and taunt Superman so he comes into range for some sort of capture. In that case, this movie might be more than just a caped smash-up derby. Furthermore, we got a bellyful of toppling skyscrapers in the last Superman movie, another reason to think that this might be something different. Regards

snake5289 07-01-2015 04:41 PM

I imagine Batman will want to keep the fight contained at ground level so he can do the most damage. Again I'm only going by the DKR movie. It was an awesome fight.

Meta 07-01-2015 05:43 PM

Meh the figures are okay but the Hot Toys ones will be much better.

Starscream99 07-01-2015 05:46 PM

That Superman looks like Agent Ward from AoS.

KaonKoopa 07-01-2015 05:48 PM

Say what you want about Man of Steel, but at least it FELT like a comic book movie, and Batman V Superman seems to be following that trend.

I'm excited about BVS, and Batman's Dark Knight Returns esque armor too. I got more than enough "realism" from those joyless Nolan police crime drama "Batman" films to last me lifetime.... FINALLY getting COMIC Batman in all of his grey-suited glory has me pumped!

Shadowknight1 07-01-2015 05:49 PM

If the cloth capes are just for the con and we get soft plastic capes for the retail, I might buy. Wonder Woman will have to look pretty damn bad to convince me not to buy her though. The Barbie doesn't look bad, to be honest.

And considering that the price on that Batmobile is mostly for the obviously con exclusive packaging rather than the car itself, the car isn't bad!

THANK YOU. Couldn't agree more. Nolan's two Batman movies are great but I want some DC Comics movies. Like how Killer Croc is in Suicide Squad. I never thought I'd see him in a movie.

Skoob 07-01-2015 07:02 PM

Yeah, you're right. The Avengers movies are a success despite many gaps in credibility largely due to good storytelling. Dark Knight Rises fell short in large part because plot went out the window. And like you, I was never crazy about Christian Bale's awkward and overcomplicated bat suits. (That said, the MAFEX figure looks good to me and I'm on the list for it just because there's no question that the Bale/Nolan films were impressive in their way and left a definite mark on the genre.)

Your point is good. These shows are comics brought to life. Details matter less if the overall storytelling is compelling. That said, one still hopes for reasonable attention to detail, as it's the glue that holds a credible story together. Regards

snake5289 07-01-2015 07:19 PM

I liked the Begins suit fine but it would have been the best ever at the time if it had been grey instead of all black. Rises was just a huge disappointment for me. Especially after how much I enjoyed Begins (my favorite of the three) and TDK.

Rises Bane was barely a step up from Bane in Batman & Robin. At least B&R Bane used Venom while Rises Bane was the master tactician and fighter from the comics but they both ended up being nothing more that second-rate henchmen.

We got Catwoman for TDKR.

I mainly just want the Batmobile, if the BvsS Batman figure sucks oh well Multiverse Arkham Origins Batman has himself a ride.

Man of Steel was a little heavy handed with the fighting at the end, but it was probably because Superman Returns and the Chris Reeves movies had so little fighting and action. Brandon Roth didn't even throw a punch in Superman Returns. They were just trying to distance themselves from those old, boring Superman movies and got a little carried away.

VashTS 07-01-2015 08:56 PM

NNNNNNNoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

Does that mean DCC will NOT do the movie figures?

I find Mattel sucks and are so terrible. No figure improvements just reusing their last molds...

Gosh no...NO...NO...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

redfox 07-01-2015 10:30 PM

I'm kinda excited/worried about the inevitable 6in Wonder Woman figure. I want it to be good soooo bad!

Begins is my favourite too, especially that moment after his first big bust where they show him standing atop a tower in relief against the sunrise with the orchestra pulsing in the background. Nolan captured that amazing "IT'S HIM" moment beautifully. I wish Marvel could have accomplished something comparable with Captain America, but I didn't feel quite the same magic. It was still fun, though. Maybe there will be a nostalgic moment in the upcoming Civil War. Rgds

I have. Used to have the MoS Superman until I got the Injustice figure. I've also seen (and own a lot of) the Multiverse figures that have come out since. They're awesome and seem pretty successful. I was hoping they'd make figures from the movie in the same way. Guess it's too much to hope for.

i think the multiverse figures have been horribly mishandled. plus, some of the molds look hideous, like the arkham city batman. that thing is unbelievably horrible looking. also, their accessories are extremely subpar especially considering the price they're asking. then, when you do get a weapon, the figure can't even hold it in a half decent way (arkham knight).

there are a couple figures that look decent, but hasbro's marvel figures at the same price point are far superior looking.

i mean, would it have been difficult for them to release a couple batmobiles at retail?.. like the keaton batmobile? that would've been awesome. but no, they've decided not to do it.

anyways.. these figures look so boring and just flat out cheap. from the molding, to the coloring, labeling this for an "adult collector" is laughable.

but then again, it's not like hasbro does much better.. in order for me to own the bad guy from avengers 2, i need to spend $125 on figures from a different line from a different movie. and if i want to own the hulkbuster armor, i have to purchase a bunch of figures that didn't even appear in the movie. so.. if hasbro was producing BvS figures, we'd only get batman, superman, and a bunch of comic characters that have nothing to do with BvS.

PLEEEEEEASE let there be some, even if they are the same ilk as the MoS figures...I need a Batfleck is this scale.

And to get the DKR armour BAF you'd need to buy a second wave of comic Justice League members who weren't in the movie, and D list villains.

Yeah that last scene was like watching Peter griffin fight that chicken on family guy. I think the low point of the movie was when Clarks dad waves him off and he just watches him die, I expect more out of the big blue Boy Scout.
As for multiverse figures they are hit or miss, when they miss it can be pretty bad. I hope we get some good 4" figures from this movie.

deathbymexico 07-02-2015 07:16 PM

uuuuuuuugh that head. Mattel, just stop. Hopefully DCC will give us something worth the money

Openchallenge 07-02-2015 07:21 PM

Superman looks okay for a pantsless version. As much as the underwear should bug me the absence looks like someone lost a bet. I think another reason these look off is that these might be that weird 5" scale Mattel did the other movie figures in.

MESH 07-04-2015 02:54 AM

Ok seriously, how can DC even license these ... they look like bootleg fake version of the characters.

No, no; they look like legit movie figures circa 2004

305Batman 07-04-2015 11:34 AM

They look worse than trash that's been stuck at the bottom of a dumpster behind an Indian restaurant for a week!
