Just what I always wanted for xmas... will smith in spandex! ;)

All joking aside, this is an awesome time to be a toy/figurine collector... with digital sculpting and 3D scanning, the likenesses of the product is insane! I remember being impressed by the old Playmates StarTrek TNG figures. Stuff today blow those away big time!

Will Smith s head looks more like Uncle Phil than the Fresh Prince!

I actually find that a lot of figures utilizing scanned/digital sculpts come out inferior to a talented hand sculpt. It seems that a lot of the little details can get lost when shrinking the model for actual figure production. Statues on the other hand are bigger so there I guess it's a toss up.

Hot Toys look amazing but Marvel Legends and Star Wars look far from amazing when it comes to nailing the likeness, it's probably more paint and production than sculpt but I have yet to see a Hasbro toy and get the same reaction as a Hot Toys figure or other higher sculpted figures.

I dunno, I look at the Starwars and I'm amazed how close they look. And for Marvel Legends, my Ironman with RDJ face looks really good for a $20 figure. The Agents of Shield 3 pack looks great, especially compared to the likes of the X-Men or Spider-Man movie toys of years past. Also, taken into consideration that these are found on the shelves of Walmart, Walgreens, Target, etc, things have come a long way.

They've definitely come a long way but they aren't as good looking as the "adult collectibles" in the same price range and similar scale. Hasbro is better than Mattel but not as good as DST or NECA which sit at the same price range. Hasbro does them good enough for the most part but a lot of them still don't stunningly capture the likeness. Pilot suit Poe Dameron is not a good rendering of Oscar Isaac but then the two-pack jacket Poe does get it close enough, there isn't a consistency with Hasbro. Their Robert Downey Jr and Don Cheadle alt heads are good enough but then their Star-Lord Chris Pratt head is off the mark. Honestly it's okay, since they're a children's toy company, for them to not nail every single figure's likeness down to a point and considering their target audience I am surprised that they do as much as they do but except for the helmet-heads and aliens their human face sculpts still look like toys (which is okay for them to do).

Why, didn't you hear? It's a giant tattoo that reads "I am actually Jason Todd and I killed the Joker for killing me and have now assumed his identity to haunt Batman!" Either that or just some stupid juggalo slang.

snake5289 04-17-2016 07:17 PM

I really hope the godawful rumors of Joker being Jason aren't true. I think I actually will give up on the DC cinematic universe if it is.

They already don't have a solid foundation what with neither Man of Steel nor BvS performing or reviewing as they would have hoped so pulling a lame twist like that would be franchise suicide (heh heh heh).

Here I just thought it was an inked banner saying "Martha". You know, so he can simply turn his back to Batman and avoid a righteous ass-kicking when need be.

snake5289 04-18-2016 08:31 AM

I think that would be a hilarious deleted scene/outtake actually.
