I love the concept of this. I just wish Supes wasn't so slender. He looks deflated.
It's basically the Christopher Reeve Superman figure with a new head.

Like their previous Superman releases this appears to qualify as not interfering with Mattel. The 1/4 scale figures were too big to compete with anything and the individual 7" figure was technically part of a DVD promotion not a standard release. Because this is a two pack with a very specific audience Mattel probably doesn't care.

That's exactly the 2 things I was thinking, the eyes look unfinished. And he needs extra hands. Hope NECA adds them in.

a wider release on the reeves sups as well ;)

I'm sure everyone knows Ali is from Louisville, KY, but it is still awesome to see my hometown emblazoned on the side of the box!

I am really looking forward to this release, but I bet my area will be all over this since we all have grown up with the stories of his legendary fights and history

Me neither. It deviates too far from the artist's original vision. The result is sort of a mockery. If it was my job and my decision, I'd re-sculpt Superman to give him suitable muscle bulk, and apply more realistic paint.

Is that Superman headsculpt available anywhere else? I'd like to see a normal version without the comic-style inks.

Im curious how well this is gonna sell... it seems like something that might've worked better as a convention exclusive but, we'll see.
