Just finished up Kitty Pryde!

Brown and tan FTW, man. I gotta home that Wolverine.

I wish she was shorter. I know she is supposed to be her older version, but she is bigger than a lot of the male figures.

redfox 07-31-2016 11:36 PM

GAH, I'm lovin' this Kitty! She just looks freakin' adorable. Now if I could just find her...

Joe Moore 08-01-2016 04:20 AM

Great stuff this round. All 3 shoots so far look really nice. Kitty Pride has one of the best female head sculpts from them in a while.

Dolemite 08-01-2016 07:48 AM

I've always been a big fan of Kitty, so this figure is a must-have for me. Hasbro really nailed her (ahem), and including Lockheed is awesome, especially since it seems that his tail is flexible and gives him multiple posing options.

Agreed. It helps that the paint apps (especially the eyes) are spot-on.

You can get her on Ebay for less than retail, especially if you don't care about her coming with the Juggetnaut BAF part. I got mine for $18 shipped.

The best deco so far for Iceman but suffers a little with no accessories.

Marvel Legends Iceman X-Men Wave Photo Shoot - The Toyark - News

Dr Kain 08-01-2016 06:18 PM

Iceman is my least favorite of the wave. He feels cheap and rubbery and he can't stand worth a damn due to how loose his joints are. Not only that, but the thigh swivels on mine are frozen. Pun not intended.

I love how the light reflects off of him though.

Thanks, but I ended up finding the whole wave at Walgreen's. If I hadn't, I definitely would have hit-up eBay. Glad to have them.

Captain Nash 08-02-2016 06:57 AM

Iceman is the weak figure of the wave to me. He's very gummy feeling and very frail, which is how a lot of Toy Biz Marvel legends were and how most of Hasbro's are not. I feel like if I handled him too much he might break. The sculpting though is fine, even if I've never personally been a fan of the ice shard look, preferring the smoother ice, but that's personal preference and doesn't take away from the fact the actual sculpt is good. Harder to get around the durability of the figure though.

And an ice slide would have been awesome with this, but as pointed out in the article, accessories are lacking over all.

Dr Kain 08-02-2016 08:09 AM

Yeah, Hasbro said the lack of accessories is due to the wave being 8 different figures. That's also why there isn't as much shading and stuff going on with the paint decos.

GizmoTron 08-02-2016 08:30 AM

All Marvel Legends waves these past couple of years have lacked accessories, it's just something Hasbro doesn't worry about anymore.

Frankly the X-Men wave actually has more accessories overall compared to even the most recent Cap and Spidey waves, but something like an iceslide would be the equivalent of giving these figures stands again and that's something we're never getting back.

I was looking more for a Ice Blast type of accessory so he does not just stand there looking stupid with his arm out and no pay off.

Peter, Miles, Ben Reily, Chameleon, and Hobgoblin disagree with you.

The only complaint I really have for accessories are the lack of additional hands for the female Spiders. I should not have to have Gwen have her hands be a thwip and a fist, Barton have a gripping hand and a fist, and Silk with a fist and an open hand.

DESTRO 08-02-2016 05:48 PM

Havok is up for your viewing pleasure. Thank God they included those energy blasts.

Why do you hate the arms they used for Havok?

Those figures accessories aside from a few heads are made up shared or reused parts, though, Hasbro hardly broke the bank there. But original figure specific accessories have been quite rare.

But this idea that the X-Men wave got the shaft doesn't hold up, really Deadpool alone in this wave has as many or more accessories all by himself compared to some Avengers or Cap waves.

They don't fully extend and are always locked in a bent look.

Pizza Spidey was a new figure when it came out though. Sure, Ben uses the same buck, but Miles and Peter are also a brand new body, but they still came with 4 additional hands and an unmasked head. Chameleon was also a new mold at the time he was being made.

Joelston 08-03-2016 04:09 PM

I actually really like Iceman. The attention to detail in the sculpted, angular ice around his face and hair, as well as the little bits that jut out here and there really impressed me. I thought it was just going to be Pizza Spidey with a new head and bare feet, but the amount of new character specific sculpting really caught me by surprise. I agree about the gummy-ness though, it is slightly disappointing, but in-hand, my Iceman never feels fragile or like he's going to break on me. Surprisingly I find myself playing around with him the most, getting him into some really cool (pun intended!) dynamic poses. It would've been nice to have some ice-blast effects, but hopefully SH Figuarts might come up with something in the near future that would be compatible. Also the way the light hits him if you get it just right, practically danceing around that beautiful angular form, is just spectacular!

Joelston 08-03-2016 06:24 PM

Loving Kitty as well, agree about the head sculpt, definitely one of the best Hasbro has ever produced, to me on par with the beautiful Scarlett Witch of the Thanos Avengers wave. The crisp, clean matte yellow provides a nice contrast against the rich black of her costume. She is graceful and elegant, which is how all of the X-Men with fairly uncomplicated costumes/designs should be crafted when being immortalised in plastic. I love the loose belt with the dual straps and obligatory "X" on it too, which, like Rouge's, can move around and sit nicely on her hips when positioning her in a dynamic pose. A stunning figure overall, the efficiency and relative simplicity of her design giving her a real freshness and beauty. Like Iceman, another welcome surprise in this incredible X-Men wave, and one that really pops when positioned amongst her teammates.

DESTRO 08-03-2016 07:05 PM

The definitive version of Rogue is now up for your viewing pleasure.

Marvel Legends Rogue X-Men Wave Photo Shoot - The Toyark - News

Joelston 08-03-2016 07:12 PM

Finally we get a Wolverine by Hasbro in the right proportions! (ie. short and squat!) the brown and black really looks fantastic, and the black spikes running off his boots and cowl are suitably thick where they should be, and then thin out where they should thin out, making them sturdy and strong, not prone to bending and warping like I thought they might be. I think this will be THE definitive Wolverine for many years to come, and I could easily see this being used with minimal new tooling/paint apps for updated blue & yellow tiger stripe, X-Factor, Old Man Logan/shirt & jeans casual attire etc. It would have really been the icing on the cake to a really stellar Wolverine figure if we had gotten just one alternate head sculpt. Either a mask-less and/or berserker rage face would have been amazing. Hopefully with one of the aforementioned alternate attire Logan's we'll see that packed in there with him as an accessory sometime in the distant (but hopefully near!!) future. Despite this though, a really amazing, much needed updated Wolverine. The only issue I had was a QC issue (which is actually mentioned by Shartimus Prime in his review) with his right hand. When posing, the "claws popped out" hand will easily and repeatedly fall out, which is frustrating, and a disappointing slight to an otherwise near perfect release. Has anyone else experienced this same issue with their Wolverine?

Dolemite 08-03-2016 08:19 PM

That bandanna looks like a big green tumor growing out of a hole on the side of Rogue's head. It looks pretty bad. Otherwise, however, the figure is perfect.

webz 08-04-2016 06:18 AM

The article needs fixed... Rogue wasn't "gifted with flight, super strength, and invulnerability"... those were abilities she stole from Ms. Marvel from prolonged contact that took years to wear off. They were actually a curse, because in the back of her mind, while having those powers, the personality and memories of Ms. Marvel haunted her.
