Surprisingly robust selection of DC Multiverse there.
Unfortunately, a lot of them are exclusives...which is not good (especially Wal-Mart exclusives). But the Build-A-Figures are cool. New 52 Doomsday is kind of unnecessary but a good way for people who might not have the classic version "a" Doomsday. The Reaper?!? There's an awesome left-field choice. |
What is up with that disgusting Flash repaint? That thing is hideous. One of the ugliest toys Mattel has ever produced.
Also, someone should tell Mattel the New 52 is done and over with. The nightmare has finally ended. They need to stop bringing figures out a year too late. |

I have never been excited for the Multiverse line before, but I am now. These look to be some really awesome waves! I kinda wish they did a Green Arrow instead of the Flash for their Dark Knight Returns figures though. |

I like the figures, they have a nice lineup but I have gripes with the lack of articulation on the ladies there & why is hawk man omitted? He's someone that hasn't been released yet so why doesn't he have a picture I want to see him, is that a thing to omit a figure that we can clearly see?
|
Plus making them Walmart exclusives isn't good, I wish these retail companies can stop making customers feel limited or unable to buy figures from them. Making them exclusives makes it less likely for them to even have time on the shelf for anyone to be able to get them after scalpers & especially when a store is farther like in walmart's case when someone who lives in a place like NY can't make that trip

So Thundercats IS dead.
Looks like I need to cancel my card then so I don't get charged for them, and just eat the $27 I already paid. |

I know it's a popular bandwagon, but the New 52 wasn't ALL bad. Batman's entire run was great, and is an instant classic. Swamp Thing, Justice League Dark, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Demon Knights just to name a handful were also mostly great reads. There were definite issues with the New 52, but nothing as horrific as you make it sound. Rebirth without a doubt is freaking incredible though! Releasing a Mutant Leader without his trademark glass-cutting nipples is absolutely pointless, it's freaking iconic! Also looking at Mattels Rebirth Batman just makes me that much happier that I'm an Icons collector, as the Icons version looks so much better! The same goes for Batgirl, and the Designer Series Gordon Batman from DC Collectibles looks infinitely better as well. Also prepare yourselves for like 90% of that paint detail to dissapear, just like it did on the retail version of Dark Knight Returns Armored Batman. |

The biggest problem with the N52 though is that none of these characters felt like heroes. Just goons dressing up as heroes, which is the problem with Zack Snyder's movieverse. |
My understanding is that the Thundercats line is dead as well.
I have heard that Super 7 didn't take the license because it's too complicated So Matty took my money and sold me a set of figures in their Thundercats line that has zero future before they were even effing released Good riddance Matty. Burn in hell |
Pixel Dan spoke with the Four Horsemen, and yes Thundercats is dead. You can read the discussion at he-man.org.
Matty and Mattel, go f#%k yourselves. |

Some of these (especially the female characters) look horrible, and I'm certainly no fan of Mattel, but I have to give them credit for choosing such an unexpected and relatively diverse line-up.
I NEVER imagined that I'd ever see figures of Reaper and Batwing, not even from DC Collectibles ! I'm not sure if Mattel still has the rights to the Young Justice animated series, but with the focus on the Multiverse figures being on TV, movies, and other forms of media, and not just comics, it seems like this would be the ideal way for Mattel to give us those YJ Kon-El and Miss Martian figures that never made it to production a few years ago. It sure would be a good way for Mattel to rebuild some off those bridges that they seem to be SOOOO intent on burning these days. |

Cool to see that they are continuing the line with 4 Horseman. They should just start with the Filmation stuff. Need Skeletor and He-Man, Mattel made it impossible to buy.
|
I'll certainly consider the Filmation Classics if they happen.

Could someone please explain what is going on here. I'm confused, What is going on with Super 7 and Thundercats, they just started doing them

So, rather than try and basically do their full time job and another full time job, they decided to cut and run. Super 7 can do MOTU as Mattel owns that outright, so all they have to do is license it out. Thundercats is tricky. Licensing has never been easy for the brand, and you can't simply transfer the license from one company to another. |
