My thoughts exactly. It wasn't expecting an effect part for the grenade launcher, but now I am wondering if the smart gun muzzle flash effect part would work on the pulse rifle.

Yeah it basically works, I'll post a pic later. It doesn't fit exactly because of the way it was made for the smartgun but it's close enough and even if it doesn't look exactly like the pulse rifle muzzle flash seen in the movie it's still a good effect.

That pulse rifle effect really does look crap in the pics, I hope it's better IRL.

As my excitment dials down and my objective view gradually comes back, I find you are right. The pulse rifle flash looks bad.

Personally, I would've eliminated the shotgun and added a smartgun muzzle effect (like the one that came with regular Vasquez) for the sentry guns and the pulse rifle. And what the heck - why not an extra smartgun for kicks?

Here's how the smartgun effect piece looks on a pulse rifle. It does sit pretty close to where it should with regards to where the barrel is but it leans upwards.

That looks a hell of a lot better. Unfortunately, that accessory packaging looks final so there's probably no chance NECA can re-tool the smart gun flash to fit the pulse rifles and replace the dildo-looking flash we're getting instead.

I've always felt the muzzle-flash effect from the smart-gun is too small for the smart-gun anyway. That's more like the beginning of the burst flash rather than the full flash (google "Aliens Vasquez Let's Rock" and you'll see what I mean).

I don't like the "snow cone" pulse-rife flash either, but in defense of NECA, the pulse-rifle from the movie does give off a rather rounded "tube" type of flash.

Er, I won't be paying that much, thanks. Now, I imagine it'll be a lot cheaper in the States, but don't be surprised if it's costlier than you were maybe expecting...

Damn, pretty close to the recent Series 12. Glad I held off on those, I will probably try to pick this up along with the new Rip and Vasquez on tru.com.
