I already pay extra in order to have things shipped to Canada, as bricks-'n-mortar retailers seem generally unreliable where favorite items are concerned. (My friends would ridicule me if they had any inkling as to how much I pay for some stuff.)

I'm happy to wait longer and pay more if a figure is done well and it's a character or design that I like.

Is anyone else disillusioned about most of the prospects dangled in the survey? When asked to suggest alternatives, I asked for the rest of the Ghost crew and maybe some interesting Mandalorian soldier variants.

I don't get why companies like Hasbro can't at least achieve a NECA/McFarlane level of realism. Aren't those figures mass produced? I know the prices are about the same as Hasbro, Mattel, and other mainstream toy companies.

I don't think NECA produces on quite the same scale as Hasbro and Mattel.

The $20 price point for the Black Series is a "collectors" price point. For the same price, you can get a 6" Marvel Legends with a better face sculpt and a BAF piece. For an extra $5, one can buy a figure from Diamond Select that is an inch in scale large with better sculpt and paint apps and a huge base or Build-a-Diorama piece. Their packaging is huge and features more graphics...all for just $25.

In short, Black Series needs to lower their price or up their sculpt and paint apps game and/or include a base/BAF piece.

EvilMonkeyPope 12-10-2016 09:18 PM

Wicket is disrespectfully referred to merely as "Ewok." I voted no on anything involving price hikes, even if Greneral Grievous would require more effort than another Han Solo. Don't forget to remind them Zam Wesell is a cool looking bounty hunter that exists! She is superior to Dengar in every manner!

It's generally not the sculpts that are the problem, but the bad/minimal face paint not bringing out most of the details of the sculpt. What Hasbro needs to fix first with the Black Series is face paint.

NECA is a much smaller company and each figure production is usually only a fraction of what the titans of the industry put out.

Except for the part where Dengar got to be voiced by Simon Pegg. Zam Wesell is fairly neat albeit very overlooked thanks to her prequels origin status. I don't know if I'd get a 6" figure of Zam but it'd be a nice mix up to the line and she'd go with Jango pretty well.

I'd prefer Wesell to Dengar, at least initially. She actually did something in the films. She could be retooled into Cato Parasitti fairly easily too which would be fun, I'd like some/more TCW figures.
I suggested all the Jedi women from the PT and the main cast from Star Wars: Doctor Aphra.

Considering how little The Black Series reuses molds unless it'd literally be pointless not to, I'm not sure they'd do that for Cato. I would like some of the PT Jedi, though. Ki Adi Mundi, Shaak Ti, Luminara Unduli, Plo Koon would be the first I'd want made.

lordbest 12-10-2016 10:54 PM

Yeah, it's more wish listing than anything else. Ki Adi Mundi would be interesting, I wonder if he would fit in standard packaging? He is very tall. Then again they fit Chewbacca in.

They also fit K-2SO, so I imagine Ki Adi wouldn't be hard to fit in. I'd more question Shaak Ti's ability to fit, but considering we got Ahsoka earlier this year, I doubt she'd have any trouble fitting either.

They could fit a Hulk into standard Hasbro packaging. I'd be more surprised if they COULDN'T fit something into Hasbro's standard packaging.

but they already did make a bossk figure haha

redfox 12-11-2016 06:30 PM

Fingers crossed that most of those 6in figures are already in the pipeline. Need Padme and Hoth Leia something fierce.

Yoshi 12-11-2016 07:28 PM

I can't believe a Tusken Raider wasn't even a listed option. I threw my support heavily behind Admiral Ackbar.

We're already getting a 6" Tusken Raider, it was shown with Lando and Qui Gon Jinn.

With you on that!

I wish we could have snagged Hoth Han without the tauntaun, and Hoth Luke with a clean face...

I agree with the discussion above: sculpt and paint come first. All else is secondary. Substandard paint in particular has saved me money.

Thanks, Joe, for pointing out the survey!

im sorry for failing, Captain Astute. next time ill try to be less distracted. thanks for being so matter-of-fact

Skoob 12-12-2016 01:33 PM

You're right -- that comes across as snotty -- I apologize.

Byrnes 12-12-2016 02:10 PM

I also said no to any price hikes. They are already high at $20 IMO. They should be around $12 for a 6" at most. Although I'm still buying at $20 a pop it still grinds my gears every time. Instead of buying everything in the waves I only buy the few select figures I really want.

Toonstrack 12-13-2016 09:16 AM

We need a Mace Windu. And fast. He's my absolute favorite SW character.

Dang, must have missed it. Well, we DO need an Ezra.

codycameron09 12-16-2016 05:02 PM

I'm glad that some of the figures they asked about are ones we are actually interested. I wouldn't mind a pack of Ewoks. Padme is another one I see asked about a lot. I myself am glad they are gonna eventually bring us a Grievous figure. All I need them to announce now are these...

1. Clone Wars Captain Rex (He scored very high on the last fan poll)
2. Ezra Bridger (hopefully with Chopper)
3. Garazeb Orrelios
4. Grand Admiral Thrawn
5. Grand Moff Tarkin
6. Count Dooku
7. Asajj Ventress
