Man, look at that robot. I'll probably scoop one just because of how rad he looks.

deecee4 04-27-2017 02:22 PM

Yeah, thats really nice...seems a little bit inspired by Neon Genesis Evangelion.

graphyt 04-27-2017 07:23 PM

I'm actually excited to see K-Tron and K2SO next to each other. Just for my own amusement. I really hope he's that shiny, but I wonder if that speaks to the type of plastic they'll use.

Ventus 07-03-2017 10:17 AM

Is there something new concerning the Valerian and Laureline Figures from Neca???

On the official Neca Site they say,
that they wanted to show Pictures in Mid May...
now we have July.

I really want to see how Dane DeHan and Cara look like as Action Figures from Neca.

And i also hope, that other Companies try to make Valerian Action Figures..
Maybe ThreeZero or Bandai S.H. Figuarts.

I really would like to own a Cara Delavigne Action Figure :D

Iam also REALLY Disappointed that S.H. Figuarts did not make an Suicide Squad
Enchantress Figure :-(

Tomax 07-03-2017 02:04 PM

did somebody say 'Mad max' i would buy that in heart beat, huge mad max fan. Damn, collectors talking about mad max? we have oldskool collectors in here i see...by the way this movie looks good.

Ventus 07-07-2017 11:41 AM

I really want to know, did Neca Cancel the Valerian Figures?

It happened before with the Terminator Genisys Endoskeleton Figures.
It became really silent concerning the Endoskeleton, and then
i saw in another Thread they have been cancelled.

Can someone ask Neca on Twitter concerning the Valerian Figures?
I really want to know what is going on, Neca Official Site
still says "Pictures of Valerian and Laureline available in Mid May"

Figures look good for what they are. The head sculpts look pretty spot on, especially from the full-figure photos. I plan on seeing the film, but not sure I really have any interest in the figures. Movie is heading towards box office bust status & these won't be out until well after the movie is forgotten about. I think these needed to hit closer to the films release to have a real shot at catching on.

Dolemite 07-18-2017 06:31 AM

These figures look great...hopefully the final production/retail versions look as good as the painted prototypes pictured here.

And am I weird for thinking that Cara Delevigne somehow manages to be both ugly and totally hot at the same time? It's so weird.

Yeah, I personally am very much looking forward to Valerian (I loved Fifth Element back in the day...Luc Besson's sci-fi work is so insane yet entertaining), but I don't really see this appealing to the masses, and choosing to release it on the same day as Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk is really spelling doom for the movie.

NECA not having the figures out until September(!) all but guarantees that this figure line will crash and burn. Shame, as the figures really look good, but the release couldn't be less timely.

Harbinger 07-18-2017 06:34 AM

That head sculpt for val oooks like quato from total recall. Hope it looks better in person.

AlanThCollector 07-18-2017 06:44 AM

The Valerian film looks like so much passion was put into it. I want it to do well, even though part of me thinks it will flop.

As for the figures. I really don't see it making it past series 1. If it does get a series 2 it will probably consist of battle damaged or helmeted versions of Valerian and Laureline and maybe one other new figure (which I would still definitely buy) and then it will end prematurely.

The figures look great, but I feel the same way about this line as I did with the Apes line or if they could actually make Mad Max figures. Cool enough for me to get everything they release, but not cool enough to appeal to the masses in figure form.

I'd personally be up for Mad Max, but that's a line that will never happen. George Miller is against licensing the films for any toy releases.

Only reason I never bought into the Apes line was the lack of a 7" scale Taylor figure. I have the Mego Taylor they released, but without the 7" scale one, the line would never feel right to me.

I think the head sculpts look pretty spot on if you're going by this promotional shot Which looks to be the main image they used for the figures likenesses.

I would prefer if they used Laureline's pony tail look, but this still works for me. If they included helmets for these figures they could be great base bodies for custom army building a crew of space travelers or space police.

ToyCents 07-18-2017 06:56 AM

cool can't wait to see Valerian, figs look great

like you the lack of a Taylor figure (and Nova in my opinion) was a missed opportunity and I'm sure many other collectors feel the same way, but at the end of the day I don't think it would have helped the line much. It just comes from a property that doesn't have many people clamoring for action figures.

That's why I think a Mad Max line would fail. A great property that you, me and several other collectors would buy in to, but just not popular enough to the masses to be as profitable as Alien and Predator.

I'm curious to see how the Blade Runner 2049 figures do for this very reason. I''ll still bu them, but I'd be really surprised if the sales of those figure let it go past 2 or 3 series tops.

Mad Max could have functioned as a Diecast line as well. If figures don't work, the automobiles were crazy! I think a figure line would have worked though. The character designs were definitely figure worthy. Prop replicas would have been a good option as well. Miller missed the boat on this.

Ventus 07-18-2017 07:36 AM

hmmm Valerian himself looks pretty Screen Accurate, but Laureline does not.

Iam also excited how the Movie is, and how much Money it can gather.

I would be VERY suprised if the Movie Flops, BECAUSE:
Lucy Movie was total crap, and yet did not Flop, because enough People
had Interest to see Movie.

If "all" People can watch such a crap like "Lucy" then you can also
go to Theater / Cinema and Watch Valerian Movie.

I really want to see Dane DeHaan and Cara Delavigne Figures made from
S.H. Figuarts or ThreeZero.

Why is it so difficult to release a Cara Delavigne Figure?
Almost Every Actor in Hollywood gets an "Mini Version" of their own
either from ThreeZero or Bandai; All DC Heroes, all Marvel Heroes,
even Game of Thrones Actors, Hell even Mister "No Sequel Guy" Will Smith
got his own Dead Shot Suicide Squad Figure from Bandai.

RamenRider 07-18-2017 07:48 AM

Not really feeling the head sculpts, but I never planned on buying any of the figures so my criticism is meaningless I guess.

That's probably what makes her so interesting, she's beautiful in a unique way, not just another pretty face you forget immediately after the movie is over.

It depends on the franchise and which manufacturer has an interest in it really. Cara Delavigne get's a NECA figure and a Hot Toys figure from this movie, that ain't bad.

Did Hot Toys already confirm Valerian Figures?

I did not see it in the Forums, that Hot Toys got the Valerian Movie License, is it already confirmed?

Yes. Posted here: Hot Toys Teases New Reveals for SDCC 2017 - The Toyark - News

lordbest 07-18-2017 08:07 AM

Not bad, they would make good bases for custom Mass Effect figures too.

aaahhh very good :D

Will buy them both, Hot Toys Prices will hit me Hard!

Can not wait to see them both.

I know that Hot Toys is very Screen Accurate.

Can someone tell me more about Hot Toys Quality??
Did they increase their Quality over the Years?

I bought a Resident Evil 5 Sheva Alomar Years ago, unfortunately
the flexible Rubber they used for the Skin began to tear / getting Damaged
on its own, on the Arm Bends, it seems it was not very Flexible at all.

How about the Quality now?? Can someone report a little bit more Informations concerning Hot Toys Figures, especially Figures that show much Skin,
for example Avengers Thor Figure?

Is the Rubber / Skin Quality and Overall Quality good on recently Figures?

The robots remind me of cylons.

redfox 07-18-2017 05:25 PM

Hmmm, might have to wait and see these in-hand before purchase. Definitely interested in Cara D.
