Tony, your lighting is impeccable on these Guardians of Evil. Photographing black objetcs and especially clothing on a black background is tricky. What's your setup?

Didn't the blue guards have uncovered face slits in the prequels? Or am I remembering it wrong...

Really large light sources very close on both sides, low power. White boards behind to bounce light onto the rim of head etc.

I'm pretty sure in episode I their faces were exposed but they had the visors in III and maybe II. I know in the clone wars cartoon they had visors.

Thanks! That should help me with my own photography. I always enjoy seeing the galleries here at Toyark, even if the toys themselves don't interest me.

Just a minor aside, but I pre-ordered the guard set through Barnes and Noble, it was cheaper (both base and had free shipping), but I've got to wait a little longer, as mine won't be shipped until November 6th.

Yes the shadow guards (black repaints) are from the old EU. The bio on the back of this box pretty much describes them as they were in the force unleashed and above their name on the packaging it says "Legends" which is the new term for what used to be the EU, the upcoming Jaina Solo figure will also have "Legends" up above her name to indicate that she isn't a part of the franchise's current direction. Side note: I find it very interesting that Revan's box did not label him as "Legends" even though he hasn't appeared anywhere in the new canon yet.

I just realized G.I. Joe did the exact same thing recently... repainted the famously all red Cobra Crimson Guard figs to black and just called them Cobra Shadow Guards.

Hasbro loves the tradition of black repaints, and let's face it they're usually cool. Transformers, GI Joe, and Star Wars have featured numerous black repaints and the term "shadow" is frequently tossed in to identify the repaint as a black repaint.

What the heck happened to Poe's eyes?? I saw these in store and was a little frightened by the look he has. Most of his face has really good paint for the five o'clock shadow, but then his eyes were plastered on way too big and way too open...

Yeah, Finn's sculpt isn't actually that bad either, especially from the side profile. Way better than first movie. But his eyes, and in particular the one eye on mine, are jacked.

The trailer alone looks promising but we'll have to wait and see. In the meantime I found the first two issues of her solo comic pretty good, we definitely get a lot more out of her as she scrambles to cover her ass for essentially betraying her own team.

I believe he is one of the characters in an Anakin vision in TCW. Hence why he is still technically canon.

Seems he was cut, I thought he was in it. He is mentioned in TOR mmo so maybe that's canon?
