Two of mine are biting it.:(
|
The one nearest me started out as a Geoffrey's and then became Toys R Us. It is a tiny store that rarely gets new releases within a couple months of release. Even during the holidays you could hear crickets in there. I stop in 3 times a week or so and I'm usually 1 of 3 or 4 people in there. Yet, somehow, they are not on the list. Thank god. The only other one reasonably close to me is about 75 minutes away. I don't go there too often, even though it is huge and much more well-stocked. But, that didn't make the list either. I'm safe….for now...

Losing my primary TRU which I’ve been going to my entire life.
Just picked up the full Black Panther wave there last Saturday. Got to use my rewards points. This ******* sucks. |

That is the one I mentioned that I grew up going to. If so, that is great even if I (obviously) never go there anymore. |
No,the babies r us on Niagara Falls boulevard is closing. The toysrus on Sheridan is still there as is the eastern hills location on transit. Also the Hamburg store by the McKinley mall is still going strong. So for the Niagara and Erie county area we have 3 stores. Which is better than poor Rochester fared.
The Niagara Falls location closed many many years ago. That was at the summit park mall. That mall is now just a few doctors offices last I knew. The outlet mall on military rd killed the summit park mall. In 2016 toysrus had a seasonal store at the outlet mall. It did not return this past season. |
When I went to look at the list, I saw two listed near me that were closing, and I thought it was both of the ones near me, so I was really bummed for a minute, but then I google maps'd Toys R Us, I realized the two near me that were listed were one TRU and one BRU, that BRU being on the same street as the TRU I thought was listed, so I was relieved. The one that's not closing gets a fair amount of traffic usually, so it makes sense it's not closing.

Basically all of my GA stores are closing :(
Including the one I've been going to since I was a kid... |
The store in Humble closed because of the flooding. Today I discovered a Geoffrey's Toy Box. They were having their last day 75% off sale. I got 2 MU figures for $5.75. They plan to reopen in June/July with their new format, a showroom store. It is supposed to be the first in the region.
