It's the VHS box! :D I had that back in 1990ish. :D

This reveal is totally radically tubular awesomely amazing dudes! Cowabunga, chevy nova! :D
I can't wait to add these next to the 7" NECA Reeve Superman & Keaton Batman figures! These guys were such a huge part of my childhood. I know It'll bring a smile on my face to look at them displayed. This is a must have set where dreams are made of! I was able to control myself from buying the 1:18 set at $400 mostly because of the scale since I don't collect figures that big and wouldn't know where to display them and how to make the space for them; even tho they are incredibly but also ultimately the price. If these guys are $200 for a set of 4 at $50 a figure it is personally worth it to me because it's a special kind of nostalgia. You still get the quartet at half price vs the 1:18 if they go at $200 (looking at previous NECA TMNT exclusive set pricing). It would probably be close to $2 a figure a year if they last for 25 years concidering the plastic used nowadays vs the 80s plastics. Some of my 10 year old Mattel MOTUC are already breaking down (sticky sweating plastic) but Mattel has always been known for using junk plastics. My older NECA figures are still great! As long as they are only displayed they hold up on really well as far as plastics go. |

I personally hope this set is $100... $120 max. Toys nowadays are just creeping up in price and NECA's SDCC exclusives have enormous shipping costs associated with them.
I have a feeling this going to cost us at least $150, but so suppose it's worth it in the long run to have figures this detailed especially since they are likely to never see the the light of day after SDCC.,.. that and history has shown us that the Ebay prices will easily double after SDCC. |
So the pre orders are done through the neca site? Cc or Paypal upfront?
|
|
They are also offering the set with a diorama option!
|
|
Very nice as expected! However I am a little surprised that this set doesn't come with the four baby turtles and the pizza especially at $125 for just the turtles.
I'm not looking forward to the mad rush trying to get these online! Last year was so stressful and the sales were finished in less than three minutes some days. This year is likely to be even more crazy... |
That Dio....
Splode. |
I think I'll just go for the turtles and skip the diorama. The diorama is nice for sure, but not an extra $125 nice... At the end of the day they are going to release the generic version later in the year which will almost achieve the same effect and possibly be cheaper.
I'd rather just own the turtles and be done with it. If I get everything I'm after this year I'll have to drop at least $300 or more anyway... |
Eep. I want this. want it bad... but won't be able to get it. Already committed to a bunch of transformers stuff. Sucks too, since I've wanted this since the 90's (I was frustrated with the squishy "Movie" playmates toys as a kid)
|
I'll be watching the site like a hawk.
|
See...I don't get it. Playmates isn't doing anything with the movie turtles, so why can't NECA just make these as they want?
And would it kill any of these companies to give us the movie Shredder? :( |

Also, we already know a 1/4 scale movie Shredder is in the works. |

Had a feeling this wasn’t worth getting too excited over.

I'm a weirdo, I'm sure, and probably the tiniest of minority, but I'm totally a stickler for actor likenesses. If I could, I'd buy Hot Toys stuff, but it's way too costly for me. I remember too well as a kid being disappointed seeing the packaging art or the commercials of kids playing with prototypes of various toy lines, such a Jurassic Park, and seeing the handpainted, movie accurate sculpts, then seeing the actual in-store figures which were bland, or completely re-molded. ... PS... Think my dog chewed off the squishy arm of Raphael... |
@ Webz
Lol, man I totally forgot about those weird green and black spots. Yeah, Looking at some pics of them I definitely see where you're coming from. The Dick Tracy figures were a bit exaggerated for me, but the Next Gen Star Trek figures were excellent. I'm with you on Hot Toys too, they look amazing but I don't own a single one because of the price tag. |
I can't decide which one I want. I'll probably try for both.
|
This is one case where I am really rooting for our KO maker friends in China, because I don't see this one being easy to get in any capacity.
