Hopefully we'll get option parts for the Absorbed Gohan and Gotenks versions. I like Evil Buu, but unless they are giving us a smaller sized version (aka True Majin Buu), then we need option parts! I want the Gotenks version haha!

No way they are doing option parts. We don't even get option parts for different hair colors. They are going to milk the mold by releasing multiple variants

Optional parts for his forms are pretty much impossible since Tamashii would have to include entirely new torso pieces. Plus a new head with the long antenna. And I don't remember if the Super Buu with absorbed parts is even the same height, he might be taller.

I wouldn't call it "milking" the mold if they make Buu with Gotenks / Gohan absorbed later, it's heavy enough of a retool that I don’t feel like it's on the same level as a reuse of a Super Saiyan figure with a normal head.

Anyways, @Topic: Still very excited for this figure. I know the time when Tamashii was heavy on the accessories is long gone, but I would love some silly ones like a drink and sculpted hands holding a magazine:

correct. Every time Βuu absorbed a Z fighter he gained a bit of their characteristics. Evil Buu absorbed Fat Buu and became Super Buu gaining a fuller physique. Super Buu absorbed Piccolo and got taller with a nose. When he absorbed Gotenks he got the vest (and maybe the longer ponytail).
So honestly I dont expect many re-used parts, if any. Even his hands became more human-like after he absorbed Piccolo.

WOW looks great! Very EXCITED I just hope they keep up with lowering defects rates. I've noticed ever since they have been pumping this line out there have been more and more defects. My FAT buu is a example. The holes won't allow me to plug in the cape. Regardless i am VERY excited for this.

They've been knocking it out of the park with the Buu-Saga stuff lately, those headsculpts are so awesome.

Kinda sucks though that they only told people he's slated for release today - when he was going up for pre-order. Although Dragonball figures are distributed internationally, I assume that some people who prefer to order from Japan missed out big time.

Question: whats the diff with this one and the fat one? is it the same person? and why does he gain weight?

It's a long story but I'll try my best, strap yourself in:

The basic of Buu is that he is an ancient, powerful space demon of sorts. An evil space wizard made him his lackey and gained more and more control over him.

Said control was strengthened when Buu slowly absorbed more people. See, one of his characteristics beside his beam that turns living beings into sweets and his rubber-like, gooey body is that he can "absorb" different beings to gain their powers and some of their characteristics.

Buu had different forms until he eventually absorbed a ruler of a part of the cosmos which was fat but very gentle, after that Buu gained his big physique and became playful with a good heart.

So that "Fat Buu" was eventually imprisoned and then reawaked by a clone of the space wizard. The Z-Fighters thought him and lost, but Mr. Satan (Hercule in the English dub) gained his trust and eventually convinced Fat Buu that being good is more fun than being evil.

That would’ve been the end of it, but a really shitty guy shot a little puppy dog Buu adopted, that and Mr. Satan also being shot made Buu so mad that his evil characteristic gained shape in form of a very skinny, gray Buu. That Buu turned the fat one into a cookie, ate him and became the slim, muscular one you see here.

He started to absorb more people after to become even stronger (that’s the Buu who wears the clothes of Gotenks or Gohan, he absorbed them) but eventually had all of the beings he ate removed from him and turned into his original, purely vile and brutal form, that's Kid Buu, the small one.

So the fat one is Buu after he absorbed lots of different beings, the latest being a fat and gentle space ruler, "Evil Buu" or rather Super Buu which is this figure is the evil side of Buu which stole the good ones powers and Kid Buu is the very original Buu who hasn't absorbed any other fighter.

oh wow, thanks for this through explanation, i understood it. i like Buu even more now. he can absorb powers from diff people, damn, he is powerful he can compete with justice league and avengers lol

Tell me about it. Every freaking release seems to sell out immediately at most retailers with reasonable prices. It's a $60 figure in Japan from almost all the e-tailers, so I would think $70 shipped in the USA is a good price, but nobody seems to be carrying him for that (yet).

Honestly, he feels like the first one in a while to sell out like this. I forgot to order Goku Black and Goku 2.0, but those two still lasted more than 24. Super Buu was just gone in a hurry. I know I've been really excited for him but this still feels staggering. I keep hoping he'll pop up on Amazon but no luck yet.

Heads up, looks like Amazon has him listed now for anyone still missing out.
