That would make me really happy.

Lmao.

I just hope we see new The Thing figures, or reissue the originals.

I'm glad McFarlane pulled back from the limited articulation seen in the initial 7" Walking Dead figures.

Clearly it was a business decision...those "figures" pegwarmed like mad. You can't walk quality backwards in this day and age and expect people to buy it. NECA introduced the concept of maximum sculpt, paint apps, and articulation all in one awesome package. Most collectors - like me - can't go back.

Krunomo 10-08-2018 10:27 PM

I welcome more figures in this scale and style, however, it seems to me they'll have a limited range as NECA has the rights to all the bigger franchises. While i don't mind McFarlane i would rather NECA continue to handle the franchises they have as they'll knocking them out of the park. Maybe McFarlane will give us the stuff NECA wont touch but most of that is likely to have limited appeal.

AttilaTheBum 10-08-2018 11:26 PM

Bring on a proper Tortured Souls sequel, although more series 1 or 2 rather than Infernal Parade. Still some of the best looking figures on my shelf to this day, alongside the 6 Faces of Madness and Twisted Fairytales. Can't wait to see what they got planned, hopefully with Clive Barker on board again.

En Sabah Nerd 10-08-2018 11:50 PM

My main thought on the return of Movie Maniacs is what licenses are they even going to have? NECA's already got the main staples covered (NoES, F13, TCM, Halloween, Alien, Predator, Evil Dead, etc.) from the original movie maniacs so that just leaves the more obscure and any modern choices.

This is where it can get tricky, and companies can get creative with licensing. If McFarlane is going completely back to staction figure designs (little to no articulation), they could technically get licenses for many of those properties under a statue license.

Now, if they are going the route of their current releases, then yes, it becomes more difficult for them. But, there are still a lot of properties to visit and revisit. The Fly, The Thing, Species, Romero's Dead trilogy, American Werewolf, Pumpkinhead, They Live, The Howling, etc.

Enigma2K2 10-09-2018 04:55 AM

McFarlane Toys... adding joints to statues for over 20 years...[/sarcasm]

Ghost 10-09-2018 06:53 AM

Really cool. I just hope for better articulation.

One exception is their The Thing figures...the Blairmonster and Norris spider-thingy both still look pretty fucking good.

I agree with this 100%. I have every Movie Maniacs figure up until the last Texas Chainsaw wave. They were amazing for their time, but figures of the same characters that have come out afterwards are superior in almost every way. The stuff NECA is producing blows them out of the water.

That said, I will absolutely welcome a new Movie Maniacs line with open arms. I will never turn down more horror toys. And McFarlane did give us some oddball character selection. Norman Bates, Pumkinhead, and (as Dolemite mentions) The Thing. Looking forward to more characters like that.

Dolemite 10-09-2018 08:44 AM

Yeah, more horror toys are always a good thing.

SpasticPlastic 10-09-2018 09:46 AM

Maybe the time for an extensive line based off of "Dead Alive" is finally upon us?

"I kick ass for the lord!"

Lionel with the mower would definitely be cool to see as a figure even if just for the "holy shit they actually made a figure of that" factor.

Agreed. I love Randy but NECA does noting outside the box,in terms of Horror any more. They do not do more niche horrors. Give me some Basket Case, Return Living Dead, Lost Boys, Christopher Lee, the Fly, Reanimator, Howling, Poltergeist, Werewolf London, Sleepaway Camp....ect...

To be fair, their Captain Blake was pretty niche, and Tim Curry Pennywise was unexpected. They also just released a Reanimator figure.

To be VERY fair though, NECA makes maybe 1 or 2 niche figure for every 100 Predators and Aliens, and people have been begging for a Curry Pennywise for years haha. If McFarlane does all obscure stuff, I think they can find a good market while NECA has the main horror and scifi movies covered!

There's a ton of possibilities within that movie for some really cool toys. The customs I made last year of Lionel, Paquita, and Father McGruder were cool for about a week, but now every time I look at them, I'm just saddened that they are not real, released figures from a real company.

True, but as a massive fan of Alien I’m happy with their niche figures in that range. Plus the poster I quoted specifically mentioned Reanimator, which NECA have just done.

I’d like to see NECA do some victims. One of my favourite figures is the Mezco Roach Girl from NoES. They keep saying that there’s no market for victims, but a three-figure set for something like Ft13 would do well, in my opinion. Hell, even a sleeping bag would get my money.

McFarlane doing some niche stuff would be great, but I’ve never been impressed by their quality. I’m a bit of a NECA fanboy, so I’d prefer to see people requesting niche figures from them.

In all honesty I just want a Johnny Five from NECA. And some Friday figures. And an endless stream of other stuff. Some McFarlane The Thing figures would be greatly appreciated though.

Yeah that kinda bugged me too. I mean, all they had to do was do to the 6 or 7 inch figures what they did with the 5 inch figures. I at LEAST bought Lee and Clementine, lol.

Yup! And while I still own my older figures McFarlane did, they need to keep up the quality of sculpt and articulation they started with the Star Trek figures.

Well, they SORT of have Halloween. They don't have the original classic Halloween, just the new 2018 film apparently, an d they have the license to Evil Dead 2, but not Army of Darkness and maybe not the original Evil Dead. There are also other licenses out there fans want made. I'd like to see them explore licenses we haven't seen visited since the older SOTA Toys days.

Wonderful Toys 10-09-2018 03:28 PM

I'll just say that since I'm not really that big a fan of the more mainstream horror franchises outside Halloween, I'd be more than happy to see more obscure stuff from McFarlane, even if it doesn't make any business sense or whatever.

WastelandAngel 10-09-2018 03:42 PM

I want a maniac cop figure damnit.

Here’s a pic I took years ago of Tortured Souls Lucidique. Definitely some nice sculpting on those figs.
