Body seems about the same as grayskull, but the face is raw plastic. The original grayskull was painted i believe.

Raw plastic and un-sandblasted plastic in particular does not photograph well.

Face paint was a tad thick on og Grayskull heman, but i prefer that to the rawness we've been getting.

I desperately want a roll of that wrapping paper. Seriously, it's the greatest thing I've ever seen. I would wrap all my presents in it.

I put mine directly under the tree as a present to myself. I really don't want to open it and ruin that beautiful paper.

I opened mine by cutting the tape at the bottom and sliding the figure out of the wrapping paper. It was a little tight with the mailer, though. I inspected the figure, (thankfully his eyes are perfect), and slid him back into the paper sans mailer, which was a lot easier. Retaped the bottom and good as new.

I've only been a toy collector for about 8 months now & a lot of the MOTU stuff seems to suffer from poor decisions or quality control issues. It's a real pain for newcomers as many main characters are way overpriced for what they can offer in terms of articulation & such. Many MOTU figures are in the price range of Storm Collectibles or Yamuguchi Revoltech yet don't offer the same benefits of effect pieces, swap-able hands, figure stands, multiple heads/expressions, etc. I like the characters of MOTU but I wish they were affordable retail releases like Marvel Legends.

Yeah the figures themselves (while perfectly fine) aren't actually worth what they are going for on the secondary market but because they were offered through a subscription service, it makes available quantities relatively scarce.
It's gotten to the point where even the scrub characters no one cares about are at a price range that would make someone looking to start collecting the line think twice.
Sometimes you just have to say fuck that shit, concede that you can't get everything you want in life and move on.
