Lucus had help and input. In the prequels and special editions crap, he was the only input that mattered.

Ask anyone who’s seen the film and it’s a good bet that nine times out of ten the only design they’ll be able to remember with any clarity is the “Newborn,” and then only because of how damn ugly the thing is. :rolleyes:

But we have Giger's designs for comparison, and it is important to note that he left out the original Alien in his review. He was indirectly criticizing the changes made to the xenomorphs in Aliens and Alien 3. I believe he is simply referring to the xenomorph designs in the film - back to smooth heads, two thumbs, and bipedal - and not to the newborn or the queen, neither of which he designed. The fact that he thinks it is more similar to his concept of the alien life cycle, famously cut from the original film, tells me that he may have misunderstood what was going on in Resurrection.

NECA did great work as usual, but I don't understand how there can be enough demand for figures from one of the worst films ever made. Hopefully they won't clog the pegs too badly and we can move on to some better decisions on NECA's part.

Believe it or not the movie has its dedicated fans and they've been clamoring for NECA to get figures out for a while now. They've already pretty sufficiently covered the first three movies so at this point even I view Resurrection figures as a "why not?" situation.

Sorry,but I loved the movie and designs. Neca once again hits a home run. Pre-ordered! Were is the big baby though?

What will aliens series 15 be then? more video game figures? Colonial Marines, or just more kenner related releases?

Didn't they say/show that the newborn will be a deluxe single release?
There are still a lot of Kenner remakes on the table so that's a possibility. Movie-wise I believe they're going to get around to the AVPR Aliens again, I think it's already been declared but I don't remember if anything's been shown. Of course we also have a lot of comics and games to tap into.

Kenner waves in the Aliens and Predator lines run every three waves i.e. Alien Waves 10 and 13 and Predator Waves 10, 13 and 16. So i imagine wave 15 will be something else like a game, comic, AVPR wave or Alien 40th anniversary wave.

That said, they could literally go with this line for a good decade especially with 40th anniversary lines giving them an excuse to re-release figures.

40th Anniversary will likely have a re-release of Ripley and the Big Chap and possibly a new character. We still need Brett Ash and Parker. A regular version of Dallas, Lambert or Kane would also be good. What would be cool is if the 40th anniversary figures are like the Predator 30th anniversary figures and are a seperate unnumbered wave of a half dozen or so figures. What would be epic is if they could do something like Diamond select and give us Nostromo dio pieces with each figures. Not the whole ship but one of the more iconic rooms.

Hopefully they come back to Aliens and give us Apone, Gorman, Drake, Ferro, Spunkmeyer, Wierzbowski, Dietrich and Crowe. Most of these wont happen but if we got the first three i'd be happy. I imagine they'll do something for the 35th of 40th anniversary.

Alien 3 they could still do a Michael Bishop. I need one to go with my commandos. Doubt we'd get anyone else. Maybe a variation of the dog alien perhaps covered in molten metal.

In terms of Kenner figures we know we're getting a Drake. They could also do Bishop, Hicks, Hudson, O'Malley and ATAX. Alien wise Queen, Flying Queen, Bull, Rhino, Night Cougar, Killer Crab, Panther, Boar, King and Swarm.

Colonial Marines while a trash game had some interesting designs. Lurker, Spitter, Boiler, Crusher and the Raven would all be unique.

AVP games have featured their own predaliens as well as praetorians, alien empress, alien matriarch and a predalien queen.

From the Darkhorse comics there are other variants such as the hybrid king, Eloise, queen mother and the rogue alien

There's a good 10 series worth noted above with some being larger. I doubt we're getting anymore humans from Alien and Aliens but here's hoping.

Does anyone in the UK know who is taking pre orders for these our side of the pond now? I have struggled to get a few in the past using forbidden planet so if anybody can advise what the site to use is in the UK, it would be greatly appreciated

I hate the Newborn's design, but holy shit if that isn't a great figure of it.

So about 80% less Alien boobage but 200% more aliengina... ugh... Also not super crazy about how the head articulation was done- might have preferred it to just not be articulated... but the jaw is cool... I'll probably get it just because it IS part of the lore even if it isn't my personal favorite... and it's a pretty terrifying action figure...

technically the quote says CREATURES...plural,not CREATURE singular, so that includes also the designs for the other aliens(reused without the digitigrade legs on avp and avp:r) a design i always loved by the way, anyway, the point being he was referring to multiple designs, , people tend to not only hate the newborn but also the other xenomorphs, i personally don't like the newborn, i think is disgusting, BUT that was the point, making something that would make one have nightmares, which, we all know giger was all about

Ditto. I wondered about that 'sheath' -- actually checked YouTube clips to see if it was in fact a detail of the creature design, and not an articulation decision -- and think it'd look better without.

I'm leaning against buying this one. NECA has done a good job, but let's face it: the thing is just plain UGLY, with none of the mystique of the original xenomorphs.

See,as a kid. This thing scarred the life out of me. Because it was more human than xenomorphs. That human emotion it had haunted me. I never cared when the aliens died. When the newborn died,my chest sank a bit. But to each their own. I for one am through the rough for this figure.

My only gripe is the black display. Would rather a clear one. Otherwise looks as gnarly as its meant to.

I would have much rather had NECA produce a new Predalien over this by a very wide margin. I hated the movie this newborn is from... I know many fans do not like AVP2 or the predalien, but I think that design is far superior to this one...and A LOT more interesting.
