No, I meant why these colors in general. Why not a Wolverine that would actually go with the 90s theme? Like secret Ops Wolverine, brown Jim Lee Wolverine, hell, even the generic yellow and blue suited Wolverine from when the X-Men finally dethroned Lady Deathbird?

snake5289 06-03-2019 01:03 AM

I guess because it's an X-Force wave and that's Logan's X-Force uniform.

Whovian2018 06-03-2019 02:25 AM

We already had classic brown suit Wolverine released twice by Hasbro and classic yellow and blue. This is just another variant to match the wave theme.

I kind of wonder if they'll eventually re-release Cannonball with his legs (after everyone buys this one of course). Maybe in his second X-Force look.

For a minimalistic survivalist, Logan sure is quite the fashionista. Lol

I understand some of these complaints, but not all. Nightcrawler is near perfect as far as Hasbro Legends is concerned. 3 alt heads, a sword, and an extra hand? Pretty good as far as modern legends.

No accessory for Sinister, a figure that looks like he would normally be a BAF all his own? Maybe he could have an alt head, but the figure is damn near perfect.

No legs for Cannonball? How many people are buying a Cannonball figure to have him stand around a display with regular legs? The legs would be thrown in a bag with all the unused BAF pieces.

No alt head for Wolverine? Does ever figure need an alt head? Its a stealth suit... why would he unmask in a stealth suit? Maybe he could use normal fists this time because the claws do not seem removable like previous figures.

All in all it seems like pretty decent wave. Sinister and Nightcrawler are strong and in great need of this redo. Toybiz days were a looonnnggg time ago. The Wolverine is decent. Seems like every xman wave gets a Wolverine though. Id rather a re-release of the Cyclops from the dark pheonix tru exclusive, perhaps with one of the new heads from the upcoming vintage figure. Cannonball will look interesting in a display. Boom Boom and Guardian are the standard minor characters with reused bodies.

While it's not quite the killer wave as the Caliban one, I agree that too many people are taking this too hard. There's some really good figures here. I never thought that I'd want to buy a Boom-Boom figure, but here I am wanting one now.

You make an especially good point that no one would ever pose Cannonball with legs if he actually came with them.

Good answer!

Yeah, I see no reason to complain. Hasbro has already covered pretty much every major Wolvie look.

Because Hasbro is clearly trying to finish out Uncanny X-Force.

We should still have the option though.

Toonstrack 06-03-2019 07:37 AM

Did Logan ever wear this black suit with the actual X-Men?

As I remember when he showed up in books other than Uncanny X-force he was wearing his usual colors.

....why? If 99% of people will display Cannonball with the explosion piece, why add the cost of legs to production? Would you rather have legs for Cannonball or 3 heads, a sword, and an extra hand for an all newly sculpted Night Crawler?

Legs for cannonball.

Me too. This "no one would display him with legs" logic is ridiculously wrong.

It baffles me that anyone would display that character with regular legs. With regular legs its just a guy.

Marine73 06-04-2019 06:19 PM

Plain and simple,.. I’m not going to bitch about any of them. WE ARE GETTING X-MEN!!!!! Jim Lee versions at that, along with the other big titles like X-Force, X-Factor. Would I display Cannonball with legs in a dynamic team pose,.. yes as I don’t feel the blast effect is long enough to give off the flying with flame tail look. But we have a cannonball!!!! Legs are easy to put on him, we have boom boom!! I mean we have members from new mutants also so I’m glad Hasbro is finally giving us ( ME) our favorite mutants!!!! Now let’s get a Jim Lee storm, banshee please!!! My epic wish would be to have a giant size X-men team to display with thunderbird, shadowcat, I mean we have sunfire already!!
OH!!! And more baddies!! Marauders to go with sinister!! A box set of the other 3 horseman of apocalypse!!! Time to give the X side of the marvel house the same attention the avengers and other teams have gotten!!!

So, why does wolverine come with non claw hands? Without claws he’s just Danny devito.
Or should cyclops come with a foot long blast effect perma fixed to his eye? It’s an impulse power, not like dudes ever just hovering around all burney legged for any real period of time. Plus the blast effect still only looks to put him at 6” tall, so a leg option v.s. A perpetual fire legs that don’t appear as though they could look proper horizontally on a flight stand... options man, it’s all about options.

By the way, what exactly is the nature of cannonballs power? Are his legs in the fire, or are they the fire? Or is it like a ring around his waist...

If I had to choose between those two, then legs for Cannonball. I have no use for extra Nightcrawler heads as only one of them looks great and he never used a sword in the comics outside of one flashback scene. Don't recall the figure having an extra hand though.

The extra hand can be best seen in the in-box picture beneath the extra heads, I'm not sure what it's for but it's there. I know Nightcrawler used swords in the AoA and from my understanding this has bled over to the modern books for some time now.

Marine73 06-05-2019 04:51 AM

Cannonballs power can best be described comparison wise to the young girls in the Deadpool movie, he has the power of flight ceeated by the thrust of his explosive force field which once “powered up” and blasted into an object, like an explosive battering ram.

I think I remember Nightcrawler using a sword a few times in Excalibur. And his original early 90s (91?) Toy Biz figure (with the suction cups) had a sword.

Did he use it in Excalibur? I've never seen him have it in those issues. I only remember him having a sword in the flashback scene when he fought his "brother" in the issue where he got sent to Hell and Doctor Strange had to save him.

I do remember the 90s toy coming with it, but I could do without it if it meant getting CB legs.

Do we know if Cannonball's explosion piece is at least removable so there is at least hope Hasbro could do interchangeable legs down the line? Like maybe a New Mutants version of him will come with an extra pair of legs for the X-Force version and they both can use the same explosion piece.

Jester 06-08-2019 05:54 PM

Man, you guys are nuts. I need, like, every figure in this wave. :D

Perfect bodies, particularly in Guardian's case. Ever since the Captain Universe figure first showed up I've been hoping they'd re-use that base for Jimmy Hudson's alter-ego.

Technically, Guardian probably shouldn't have a metallic sheen on his costume, since it's just a cloth cover for his powered armour:

my thinking is that they could have done the effect as something that goes over a normal figures legs. as is, they've made it so he is good for exactly one kind kind of diorama and that's a bummer. Same reason I like having Wolverine hands without the claws.
