There were 31 releases in the line, including the accessory pack which had Ch’p from the GL Corp. But there were a couple of 2 packs and the multipack which raises the total.

I'm with Mort (above). We don't need every bit part in the DCAU to get its own figure. That said, we all have our favorite characters...

These interview notes make me happy. Mcfarlane did some marvelous things in years gone by (easily some of my favorite items to this day), and I look forward to seeing them do so again.

39 figures is still pitiful considering they had a couple repeated charcters in there compared to the entire DC universe.

You're right, there were a few repeats in there that I had forgotten about. Rebirth Batman, Rebirth Superman, Cyborg, and Hal Jordan. So 35 total. But that's still farther than all of the naysayers said the line could get to when they proclaimed it DOA back in 2015.

It depends on how you look at it as there were 3 Superman releases and 3 Batman releases, a regular version, the Rebirth from the 7 pack, and Rebirth from a stand alone release.

I don't remember seeing anyone say when the line first came out that it would be canceled. I just remember some upset due to it not being in scale with their Marvel Legends (which still doesn't make sense to me).

Either way, the Essentials line is crap.

Any news on when they are releasing the Batman Black and White McFarlane statue ? Its literally the number one thing on my to-buy list at the moment.....

I believe they said May 2020 on that.

A few things:

The Essentials line(for me) is ok; the figures are nice, but for the money you pay you really just get the *bare* essentials. They could stand to have accessories to go along with them ie Green Lantern and Sinestro could have actual LANTERNS and blast effects. Just my 2 cents.

That being said I'm hoping we get more characters like General Zod, Darkseid(perhaps larger than normal), Kalibak, Orion among others.
